BB17 Day 16 - Jason and Steve win the BoB; John wins the Power of Veto

July 3, 2015

6:00-7:00 AM: Feeds returned following the Battle of the Block. Jason and Steve won the competition. Becky has been dethroned. Da’Vonne and John remain nominated. Jason told James and Meg that he almost wanted to throw the competition because he wanted to leave Becky the HoH, but he couldn’t do it. He said that Steve was not going to throw it either. Jason said that Da’Vonne will always be a target ahead of them. Meg pointed out that Da’Vonne would have to win the Power of Veto now. Jason said that Clay will be running Shelli’s HoH. He questioned if Jeff could possibly be nominated. Jason felt that they could get John out over Jeff if that happened. James said that if someone from the other side wins the PoV then Da’Vonne is likely gone. Jason agreed. James said that he may sounds crazy in saying this but he has a gut feeling that Shelli will do what the house wants and backdoor Audrey. Jason thought that Clay would want to save Audrey more than Shelli does.

Jason discussed Audrey’s previous theory about a twin twist. Jason told James and Meg that if there is anyone in the house that is a twin, it is John. He explained that John looks different some days. Meg was laughing and said “no way”. Meg told him that he is brainwashed by Audrey. Jason again said that John is the only person that could possibly pull it off. He also said that it would explain why they have extra weeks. They discussed that they should bring up really random conversations with John 4 or 5 days later in order to see if he remembers it. Jason added that John is the only one with a generic enough personality to pull it off. Jason told them that he had heard before coming into the house that there would be triplets, though since that leaked it was probably removed as a twist. Audrey’s theory came from the diary room asking her about talking to a Matthew, which she was told was someone in production that she talked to in the diary room, not a houseguest.

Meg said that Mac is a nickname for Matthew, so it’s possible that there is a twin and that’s why John is referred to as “Johnny Mac”. They then got out of bed and walked right past Liz. They brought Jeff back in to the bedroom and explained the twin twist theory to him. Jason felt that John looked way better than usual tonight. The topic then changed to last night’s eviction vote. Meg was previously unaware that it was not a unanimous vote. James figured that Audrey may have messed up his unanimous vote because she knew that’s what he was going for. There was some discussion that Austin may be lying about not having been the vote. Jason and Jeff said that they would have more respect for him if he voted Jackie out. They all said that they don’t even remember casting their votes. Meg wondered if one of them accidentally voted Jackie out.

Clay brought John up to the HoH room. Once there, John threw his arms up the air in celebration, saying “I didn’t do it!”. John said that at one point he felt that Da’Vonne was actually throwing it, because she was doing so poorly in the competition. Clay and Shelli assured him that he has nothing to worry about. Clay said that they now just have to make sure that Da’Vonne or Jason do not win the PoV. Clay told John that anyone else will use it on him. Clay told John to pick him if he gets houseguest’s choice for the veto competition. Clay repeatedly reassured John that he is good either way, no matter what happens. Clay told John that his actions have not gone unnoticed and he should not think that they will use him as a pawn every week. He told John that he is now on par with the others in their group, so do not feel that he is on the bottom.

7:00-8:00 AM: Shelli questioned Clay about what happens if Da’Vonne and Jason find a way to rally the votes and evict John. Clay said that he does not see it happening, adding that the whole house loves John. Clay told Shelli that they will find someone else to send home, even if it is Audrey. Shelli let Clay know that she will not be the person to send Audrey home. Shelli wondered who the one vote against Jackie was. Clay believed that Audrey did it to stir things up, though no one seems to care. Shelli mentioned that it was weird that Julie announced the vote differently than usual, only saying that Jace was evicted with 12 votes, rather than saying by a vote of 12-1. Meanwhile, Da’Vonne was tearing up and talking to herself in the bathroom, repeatedly telling herself to “get it together”. She said that the others do not deserve to see her crying.

James, Jason and Meg discussed that people will be pissed if John comes off the block and Shelli does not nominate Audrey in his place. Meg thought that people may rally against Clay and Shelli because of it. Jeff again brought up that Clay would be a better player if they could take Shelli out of the picture. Meg wondered if Clay could be playing Shelli. She said that she has a gut feeling that Clay knows what he is doing. Jason thought that Clay cares about Shelli for the short term but will not in the long term and will want to take her out around the Final 4. On the other hand, Jeff felt that Shelli is playing Clay just as hard as he is playing her. Jeff and Meg eventually went to the storage room to talk alone. Jeff said that Clay is catching on to him very quickly, telling him that he is playing both sides right now. Meg said that they are not and that the only two sided thing is that Clay and Shelli wanted Da’Vonne out while they want Audrey out. Jeff asked Meg who is more trustworthy in the long run, Clay or James. Meg said James, which Jeff agreed with. Meg told Jeff that the house is going to be pissed if Shelli takes out Da’Vonne, so she doesn’t want to be on their side if the house is pissed at them. Jeff and Meg discussed that they would fight for taking John off of the block if they won the veto, which would force Shelli’s hand to nominate Audrey. Jeff told Meg that they could always convince everyone to throw the veto so that Da’Vonne wins. Meg said that they cannot get involved.

Jeff went back do discussing that Clay’s agenda is is not in line with theirs and that they would be better off working with James and Jason. Meg said that they are already working with those two. She said that Clay and Shelli are also on board to work with them but they just want Da’Vonne out first, so if they can get rid of Da’Vonne without having to play a role in it then they could be in a good spot. Jeff pointed out that Da’Vonne is not after Clay and he then questioned when Clay is going to get over it. Jeff said that Becky made a mistake by not having Jason throw the Battle of the Block. He said that he even warned Becky that she has to remain HoH if she wants Audrey out. Meg said that her mistake was talking to Steve alone after talking to both Jason and Steve, because Jason then assumed that he was Becky’s Plan B and did not even think about throwing it. Meg pointed out that Shelli needs to think about how upset Becky will be if Audrey is not nominated.

11:00-12:00 PM: Clay told Shelli that he asked James what Da’Vonne was talking to him about last night and he said that she asked Jeff if he knew anything and Jeff said that the main target is Audrey. Clay said that he then told James that they have to keep telling her that. Shelli explained to Clay that the cannot say things like that, because now he let James know that they are just letting people think that the target is Audrey when it really is not. Clay said that people already know that it’s a 50/50 split in terms of who the target will be, Audrey or Da’Vonne. He assured Shelli that James would not say anything to Da’Vonne. Shelli said that this is her plan and Clay cannot screw it up for her. Shelli said that she can’t wait for the veto competition to be over. Clay discussed using it on John. Shelli said that they cannot use it because she can’t nominate someone else. Clay said that Shelli told John that she would use it on him last night. Shelli was emphatic in denying that she had ever said it. Clay then said that it was Jeff that said it. Shelli said that whoever told John that was completely stupid and wrong, because the plan was not to take him off of the block. Shelli told Clay that he needs to start thinking about the things that he says, because another issue was how he was giving John hope that they were going to take him off of the block. Shelli said that the only way that John will be taken off of the block is if he wins PoV himself. She then mentioned that it would be great if John won it and didn’t use it. knowing that he would be safe.

1:00-2:00 PM: Players were picked for the veto competition. Shelli, Da’Vonne, John, Clay, Meg and Steve will be playing. Clay went to John and said that it was a great veto draw and that nobody will use it on Da’Vonne. Clay then said the same thing to Audrey. Becky spoke to Jason and said that she is glad that Audrey wasn’t chosen to play. She said that she has confidence in Shelli to backdoor Audrey. Da’Vonne pulled Shelli aside to ask her when the change in plans occurred, shifting the target from Audrey to her. Shelli said that the target could be either one of them. Shelli explained that her concern is that the two of them do not have an established trust and that Da’Vonne did not approach her until she wanted to turn on Audrey. Shelli said that she doesn’t feel truly unsure about anyone else’s feelings towards, her so she had to base her decision on that because she was fearful that Da’Vonne would have done the same to her and put her on the block.

Da’Vonne went to James and said that she is positive that the house has flipped. She mentioned her talk with Shelli. James said that Da’Vonne needs to win the veto to save herself. Da’Vonne agreed, as she does not believe that anyone would use it on her. She said that she understands that because everyone has their own game to play. James figured that the replacement nominee would be Audrey or himself. Da’Vonne told James that things are going on and he needs to watch his back in there. She felt that Shelli would not be able to nominate James without drawing a line in the sand. Jeff joined them and suggested that Da’Vonne talk to Meg and Steve. He said that he is not so sure that those two would not use the veto. Da’Vonne disagreed. She told James and Jeff that she now feels that she should have kept her mouth shut with regards to the whole Audrey thing, letting others expose her game instead. Da’Vonne explained that she did that in order to save others from having to do it, yet it is now blowing up in her face. Jeff disagreed and said that he doesn’t think that this is about that at all. Jeff also said that using anyone other than Audrey as the replacement nominee would expose Clay and Shelli. Da’Vonne figured that they could easily nominate someone that would not go home, such as a Becky or a Jackie.

2:00-3:00 PM: Meg spoke to Shelli to address some concerns about Da’Vonne being targeted over Audrey. Meg said that Becky was set on getting Audrey out and that the people on the other side may be mad at Shelli if she does not make that move. Shelli explained that she feels as though she would be in a bad spot with Da’Vonne in the game, facing a similar backlash to what Meg is suggesting she could face if she doesn’t target Audrey. Shelli told Meg that many people don’t trust their gut and then they regret it later in the game, and her gut is telling her that Da’Vonne has to go. Meg again said that her concern is that people like Becky and Jackie will be mad that the obvious target did not go. Shelli said that Audrey at least showed some signs of trust towards her in the past, even though she is untrustworthy now, which is more than Da’Vonne has done. Clay joined the conversation and told Shelli that she can let Becky and Jackie know that this is the move that she has to make for her own personal game, adding that it is her HoH. He also said that they can make it clear that they are on board with Audrey going next week. Shelli asked Meg if she would use the veto if she won it. Meg said that she would not but she would need Clay and Shelli to have her back. They said that they would. Meg also mentioned that she would have to talk to Jason about the decision beforehand, due to him being close to Da’Vonne. Shelli asked Meg if the others would possibly vote John out over Da’Vonne. Meg did not think so.

4:00-5:00 PM: Feeds returned following the veto competition. John won the Power of Veto. After quickly talking with Clay, Shelli and Clay spoke to Becky together. Shelli said that she wants involve Becky in the discussion because she won HoH as well. Shelli revealed that she feels that it is best for her game if Da’Vonne goes this week and then Audrey goes the week after. Becky said that Shelli should make the move that is best for her own game. Clay again assured Becky that they will work with the rest of the house to get Audrey out next week. After Becky left, Clay and Shelli talked about trying to get John not to use the Power of Veto. John and Vanessa were brought up to the HoH room. Shelli explained that she has talked to Becky and that Becky is on board with Da’Vonne going this week, followed by Audrey next week. She said that the whole house is in on it. Shelli told John that he has two options. Option one is to not use the Power of Veto. Option two is to use it and then talk to them about who the replacement nominee should be. Clay said that they are not going to force him to do anything, so he can tell them if he doesn’t feel comfortable with not using the PoV. John said that he feels as though Da’Vonne will be evicted over anyone and it would also out them as working together if he did not use the PoV, so he has to use it.

Shelli then asked John who he thinks should be the replacement nominee. John said that he doesn’t care. Vanessa said that she has some ideas but she would like to talk to Shelli alone. Vanessa did so and then listed off a few of the girls’ names as potential replacements. Shelli said that she cannot nominate Becky or Jackie. The only girls that were left were Liz and Meg. Vanessa suggested nominating Meg, because Meg went after Shelli rather than going after John in the veto competition. Vanessa explained that Shelli could use that as her reasoning for making the move, since Meg went against her plan of leaving the nominations the same. Shelli said that Meg is powerful right now, having strong allegiances to some people that she is connected with. On the other hand, Shelli said that Liz is not connected to people that she is with. Vanessa pointed out that she is with Austin. Vanessa’s concern was that Liz does not have the same relationships that Da’Vonne has.

Clay and John were brought back in to the HoH room. Clay brought up that he is confident that they have the votes and he would go on the block. Shelli told Clay that she will not put him up. Clay explained that if people that say they have his back actually have his back, he will have the votes. John told him that he is crazy. Meg then entered the room. Meg suggested nominating Liz. Shelli’s concern with that is that Liz does not have people in her corner to fight for her, as opposed to Da’Vonne. Meg said that James and Jeff are on board with evicting Da’Vonne and they will not vote Liz out. They counted out the votes and concluded that Liz would be safe. Clay and Shelli then spoke alone. Clay said that they need to solidify an alliance that they are going to work with moving forward. He asked Shelli to tell him her top four people that she would like to work with. Shelli suggested that the two of them work with Becky, Jackie and Jeff. She explained that Jackie and Jeff are tight, as are Becky and Jackie, so they will know that it’s a group that will stay solid.

Shelli spoke to Austin and Liz together, filling them in on her plan to nominate Liz as the pawn. She explained that everyone, including Becky, is on board with getting Da’Vonne out. Liz said that it’s fine and that she trusts Shelli. Shelli advised Liz to keep the plan a secret. She did not want Da’Vonne to find out who she would be needing to campaign against ahead of time. Liz agreed. Afterwards, Liz went to Becky to fill her in on things. Liz said that she is obviously scared about going up since she is more of a threat than Da’Vonne is. She pointed out that Da’Vonne was in the eight person alliance, so she has more numbers. Liz said that she just wanted to make it to jury and hopes that people aren’t going to see her as the bigger threat. Becky tried to comfort Liz and told her that the emotions that she is feeling is due to the shock of the block, not due to not having the votes. Becky said that you cannot let that show or else the house will start looking at the situation differently.

8:00-9:00 PM: After taking part in an eviction, HoH competition, nominations, Battle of the Block and veto competition all within less than 24 hours, most of the houseguests napped in the evening. Liz spoke to Austin about being nervous that she could be evicted. Austin pointed out that if Shelli really wanted to backdoor someone she could nominate him over her. However, Austin did say that he could see people like James, Meg, Jason, Jeff and Jackie wanting to flip the vote. Austin also pointed out that it would be dumb of Clay and Shelli to break the two of them up and leave themselves as the only duo in the house, since that would make them a target.

10:00-11:00 PM: Jeff told Austin that he is not 100% on board with the plan to target Da’Vonne. He said that Da’Vonne is not a threat to him while Audrey definitely is. Austin mentioned that they just have to let Clay and Shelli do what they want, adding that they will be the ones putting a target on themselves. Jeff figured that the rest of the house would not be happy. Austin had some concerns about Da’Vonne being able to flip the vote and get Liz out. Liz joined them and said that she has the same concern. Jeff promised Liz that he will have her back. He said that the only people that may be on Da’Vonne’s side are James and Jason. Liz was also concerned that Da’Vonne may play the mom card, though Austin and Jeff both told her that nobody will be swayed by that.

11:00-12:00 AM: Steve went to talk to Shelli and offer her his vote this week, as a sign of wanting to work together. Shell said that the target is Da’Vonne and that she does not want the person that she nominates in John’s place to go home, so she would like Steve to vote to evict Da’Vonne. Shelli also informed Steve that Da’Vonne mentioned to her that he is one of her targets. Steve then went to the bedroom to chat with Vanessa, who asked his thoughts on the week. Steve figured that Da’Vonne would be the target since Shelli really stuck her neck out there this week. Vanessa asked Steve if he knows what it’s like to try really hard with someone and get nowhere, to a point where you have to stop trying. Steve immediately asked if Vanessa was talking about Jackie, which she was. He said that he feels the same way and that he asked Jackie to be his prom date the other night in attempt to try to build more of a relationship with her.

12:00-1:00 AM: Clay and Shelli discussed that Audrey will need to go next week since it is what the rest of the house wants. Shelli said that before the whole blow up between Audrey and Da’Vonne went down, she was after Da’Vonne and she felt that it was fair to give Audrey this extra week to tell her side of the story. She explained that Audrey did not have the chance to say anything and talk things out when Da’Vonne came at her the other day, so it’s only fair. Clay agreed but said that they cannot get in the middle of it next week if people want her out. He said that he did not want to be the one to do it either. He figured that even if Audrey wins HoH, there would be a plan in place between the other HoH and their nominees to ensure that she got dethroned and could be put on the block. They figured that Jason would be one of the people that Audrey would nominate if she were to win HoH. Clay said that Audrey better not go back on her word about who she would nominate. Shelli told Clay that he should not be giving his word to people about who Audrey will nominate, since it is out of his control.

3:00-4:00 AM: Clay told Audrey that she is staying because of him and Shelli and that they are giving her an extra week in the house and the rest is up to her. Audrey pointed out that she is the perfect meat shield, because so many people are still after her. She also told Clay that she can be used as a number eventually when the big group splits. Audrey assured Clay that she would only be targeting the people that are going to be targeting her. She said that she hopes that Jeff would know that too. Clay told her to subtly have conversations with those people before the next HoH competition. Audrey told Clay that he is also needs to think long term about who would take him to the finals, as the only ones that would are herself and Shelli. Audrey tried to convince Clay that she can be used in this game because she has nobody. Clay said that it will take time. Audrey pointed out that people went out of their way to make up things about her. Clay said that she has to admit that some of it is on her. Audrey agreed. Audrey pointed out that Clay is almost to a point where he cannot win HoH without blowing up his game. He said if he wins HoH he will go from there and go after the biggest threat to his game. Audrey suggested that Clay should not win.

4:00-5:00 AM: Clay continued his talk with Audrey, saying that he is on her side, as is Shelli, but it does not meant that they trust her. Audrey figured that Shelli does know that she can trust her, because the only people that would take her to the end are her, Clay and maybe Vanessa. Audrey said that she will not go after Clay, Shelli, Jeff or Meg. Clay told her that she cannot go after James either, which Audrey didn’t understand. She pointed out that Clay had told her that James is after her. Clay denied it, though he followed it up by saying that the whole house wants her out. Audrey said that she wouldn’t go for Jason or Johnny, so she would probably have to go after Becky. Clay explained that he gave his word that she would not target James, Jeff or Meg, so he will make sure that people target her if she does target one of them. Audrey said it feels like Clay is saying that if she stays she has to do what they want but if they want to target her it’s fine. Clay suggested that she better start talking to people if she thinks that they are targeting her. Audrey told Clay that if James, Jeff or Meg win HoH and are coming after her and she wins the PoV, she will be after them the next week. Clay said that’s fine.

Audrey went to Jeff and told him that she is really appreciative that the week is going the way that it is. She reassured Jeff that she will not target him if she wins HoH. She said that the only time that she got upset with Jeff was when people tried to get her upset with him, though she doesn’t believe that he was actually behind things. Jeff said that’s fair enough and he is one of those people that said that they would help her out and he just expects some loyalty in return. Jeff told Audrey that they are completely good. He pointed out that Clay, Shelli and himself are taking a huge risk in keeping her there. Audrey asked if James is upset with the move. Jeff said yes and that the whole house is going to be against it. Audrey told Jeff that there will likely be a noticeable change in the vibe once Da’Vonne leaves, since she is spreading a lot of things and seems genuine, with a really good poker face. Jeff said that he has a big target on his back whether people want to talk about it or not. He hoped that Audrey would stay loyal at least until jury. Audrey said that she would show through her actions that she is with them, by voting the way that they want and targeting the people that they want.
