BB17 Day 52 - Steve wins the Power of Veto
August 8, 2015
8:00-9:00 AM: Shelli and Steve discussed that Vanessa told each of them that she would save them. Steve figured that Vanessa would save whichever of them pick her to play. Steve said it’s weird because Vanessa is saying that she will save him but John is admitting that he will not. Steve said that his fear is that Vanessa saves him and then John goes up. Shelli agreed, though they both figured that Becky would not nominate John. They figured that she would nominate Austin or Liz. Steve said that he thinks that he should pick Vanessa, since he believes that John is safe. Shelli thought that John would be safe too. Steve said that if Becky is willing to go back on the agreement that was made upstairs to nominate Vanessa, he doesn’t see why she wouldn’t be able to do the same to nominate Austin.
10:00-11:00 AM: Players were picked for the veto competition. Becky, Shelli, Steve, Austin, Meg and Vanessa will be playing. Shelli got houseguest’s choice and chose Vanessa. John told Steve that it looks bad that Shelli chose Vanessa. He asked Steve if he told Shelli that he planned to use the veto on her. Steve said that he could not remember. Shelli apologized to John, saying that she did not want to pull that chip. Shelli explained to John that Vanessa would be blowing up right now if she did not pick her. John said that it’s a gamble but it might pay out. He said that he has a backup plan if Vanessa wins the veto.
11:00-12:00 PM: Steve told Shelli that she now has two players playing for her in the veto competition, since Vanessa will likely save her. John came by and told Shelli and Steve that they need to win this. He said that he saw Austin and Vanessa run off in to a room together immediately after the players were chosen. Becky went to the have-not room to talk to Jackie, James and Meg. She said that if Vanessa wins the PoV she will talk to Vanessa, Austin and the twins, making it clear that she wants Steve to go over John. Becky expects that they will go along with that, so she will say that they should just leave nominations the same. Becky planned to ask Austin, Liz or Julia to volunteer to be a pawn, while Vanessa is in the room, so that they will get mad and pressure Vanessa into not using the veto. Meg pointed out that they do not want Steve to go home if nominations stay the same. Becky said that she knows but they can control the votes.
Vanessa went to Shelli and gave her word that she will use the veto on her if she wins it. Vanessa said that Shelli should give it to her if it comes down to the two of them, so that they can both be safe. She admitted that Shelli would have to put a lot of trust in her to do that. Shelli agreed that it would take a lot of trust. Vanessa gave her word on her mother that she would use the veto on Shelli if that happened. Jackie, James and Meg continued to discuss potential outcomes. James said that Meg will have to get her hands dirty if she wins the veto. Jackie suggested that she tell Shelli that she cannot put her up if she uses the veto on her. Meg said that there is a risk that Shelli will stay if nominations remain the same, while they should be fine if she uses the veto on Shelli and Vanessa goes up in her place. Meg said that she wants to win. James said that they can tell Vanessa that she has not been on the block yet. Meg said that they can just tell her that they knew that she was not going to go along with the plan. James mentioned that Vanessa will screw them over as soon as someone on her side gets in power. Austin joined them to chat for a minute. Afterwards, Jackie said that she feels good about Austin. Meg agreed.
5:00-6:00 PM: Feeds returned after a lengthy veto competition. Steve won the Power of Veto. Becky told James that it worked out perfectly. She said that they can tell Austin and the twins that John is going up, but she will put Vanessa up. She said that Steve hates Vanessa and both he and John will vote her out. The others votes would be from Jackie, James and Meg.
6:00-7:00 PM: James told Meg that he is proud of her for how well she did in the veto competition. Meg said that she did damn good and almost won. James said that he is glad that Steve won. Meg said that she is too, since it makes her life easier. James said that Becky talked to him and said that Vanessa can now go on the block. Meg figured that everyone could then decide to vote how they wanted, since it doesn’t matter who goes home. James agreed. Vanessa came by and asked if the plan is still on. Meg said that she has not talked to Becky yet. Vanessa said that she is a little worried that Becky would not nominate John, though she felt that it was the surest bet to get Shelli out. Vanessa pointed out that nobody would vote John out and he is likely to vote for Shelli if he is not on the block. After Vanessa left, James said that she is already stressing and he cannot wait to see her face when she is nominated. James said that if Shelli wins HoH and throws him up, at least he has a chance to get back in the game. He figured that he would have a good chance at winning an endurance competition to get back in. Jackie joined them and ask who they should send home. Meg said that she thinks that they should send Vanessa out. Jackie said that they could then have a talk with Shelli and get some protection for saving her. Meg said that Becky is planning to do that, so they can let her work her magic.
7:00-8:00 PM: Meg said that next week is going to be a scary one. Jackie hoped that they wouldn’t upset Austin and the twins too much by taking out Vanessa. Meg figured that they would still be willing to make a deal, because their side is more likely to win competitions and they also have an extra number to protect them. Meg said that they need to get rid of Shelli after Vanessa. Jackie agreed that she cannot be left around in the game for too long. Jackie pointed out that the best part about all of this is that Vanessa can’t blow up their games, since she was going against Shelli the whole time along with them. Meg said that Vanessa will be livid and Becky is the most unexpected, random person to make this move. Meg told Becky that Vanessa was freaking out and said that Becky would be dumb not to nominate John, because he will vote to keep Shelli. Becky, Jackie, James and Meg headed up to the HoH room. Becky said that Vanessa can be pissed at her all she wants. Becky told the others that she will say that this is her personal decision and she is the one that changed the plan. She told Jackie not to blow up on Vanessa, because there is the chance that she could come back and use it against her. Becky pointed out that she is using Vanessa’s blow up with Clay and John against her this week. Becky said that she is not going to tell Austin, Liz, Julia and Shelli about the plan beforehand.
8:00-9:00 PM: Jackie asked Becky if she has John’s vote for sure. Becky said yeah and she bets that Vanessa wishes that she didn’t yell at him last week. Jackie pointed out that Vanessa campaigned so hard to keep Shelli last week, so Shelli is staying. James asked who they should go after next week for the double eviction. Meg said that Shelli has got to go. Becky said that they need to focus on ignoring Vanessa this week and befriending Shelli. Vanessa was concerned about the meeting going on up in the HoH room. She told Julia that they need to get Austin to go up there and make a case to keep the four of them safe, reiterating that they need to stick to the plan. Julia got Austin to go talk to Vanessa. Vanessa said that she has not asked him for a favour yet but she needs him to go upstairs and speak like it is the four of them together. She told him to say that “Vanessa, the twins and I are willing to make a double eviction plan”. Austin headed up to the HoH room. There was no game talk for a long while. Eventually they all discussed that they would be dumb to go after each other at this point when they are only a week and a half away from getting to the Final 8 that they agreed to stick together until. There were then discussions about how Steve did so well in the competition. Austin said that if they all lose to Steve, they don’t deserve to make it another week together. It was discussed that even if he wins HoH, he cannot win the next week.
11:00-12:00 AM: Vanessa talked to James and told him that nominating John is the no risk play this week. She said that they all sat around and gave there word, so there should be no discussion. Vanessa said that a tremendous amount of distrust will form between the group if Becky strays from that plan. Vanessa said that her concern is that it will be her going up if it is not John, since nobody will want to get Austin and the twins mad at them. Vanessa asked if Becky has said anything to James about sticking to the plan. James said that she hasn’t talked to him. Vanessa told him not to BS her. She said that it’s the first time that he has done that to her and she can see it on his face. Vanessa explained that she got so much blood on her hands to avoid having Becky leave. She said that it would be messed up if Becky then broke her word to her. James said that he doesn’t think that she will. James suggested that Vanessa talk to Becky. Vanessa said that she keeps her word to people and she will not be a happy jury member if Becky goes back on her word. Vanessa said that she would let her feelings be known in the jury. Vanessa also mentioned that she would like to make another deal to get them through the double eviction. Vanessa asked James if she would have his vote if she does end up going up. James said yeah.
Shelli went up to the HoH room to ask Becky where things stand. Becky said that the plan is still what she had told Shelli previously. Becky let Shelli know that she has more than enough votes to get Vanessa out. Becky listed off Jackie, James, John, Meg and Steve as votes against Vanessa. Becky assured Shelli that people want Vanessa out over her, since Shelli is alone and Vanessa is only alone because she continues to turn on people. She also said that Vanessa’s deals freak people out, since she intimidated people. Becky said that she is going to take full responsibility for the move and everyone can let Vanessa be crazy and walk out the door on Thursday. Vanessa then had her turn talking to Becky. She said that she is not a dummy and she understands that it will be a tough spot for Becky, since John is a friend of hers. Becky said that it is an easy week. Vanessa asked if Becky is saying that she is not going up. Becky told her that she is not. Vanessa brought up that she got so much blood on her hands during her HoH week to keep Becky safe, so she is asking the same in return. Vanessa said that she assumes that Becky will let John know ahead of time that he is going to be a pawn and he will have the votes. Becky said yeah. Vanessa gave her word that she will vote with the house. Vanessa began to give another reason for why it would not be smart to nominate her. Becky told her that she is paranoid and scared every week. Vanessa said that she needs Becky to talk her down when she gets like that.
12:00-1:00 AM: James told Jackie that Vanessa cornered him and he could not get out of the room. Jackie said that she will just start laughing if Vanessa comes up to her. James told Jackie that Vanessa was like an interrogator and he had to hold his composure. James said that Vanessa suspects that she will be nominated and she was asking him direct questions about it. Meg joined them. James told her and Jackie that Vanessa was implying that all hell will break loose if Becky goes back on her word. Vanessa headed to the have-not room to tell Austin, Jackie, James and Meg that she has a strong feeling that Becky is sticking to the plan. Vanessa said that she is willing to make some type of deal for the double eviction. Jackie said that she thought that they had already done that. Vanessa told her that that’s great then. She suggested that Steve would be a good one to go after during the double, since he wins whenever he has to and he will beat them all. Vanessa told them that she gave her word that she would vote with the house and vote Shelli out.
1:00-2:00 AM: Becky told Jackie that she doesn’t feel bad lying to Vanessa. She said that Vanessa is doing that to so many people in the game. She said that Vanessa needs to stop telling her that she is saving her from situations, when she is the one that is putting her into them to begin with. James and Meg joined them in the HoH room. Becky told them all that she found out the night before that Jason would be nominated. She explained that Austin told her that night that he owes her. Becky said that Austin doesn’t owe her or Vanessa anything. Becky admitted that she felt in debt to Vanessa, though she snapped out of it. She hoped that Austin would realize that he does not owe Vanessa anything. James told Becky that Vanessa was saying that they cannot break up the plan now. Becky mentioned that Vanessa did that with Dark Moon. Jackie said that Vanessa trusts no one, so there is no reason for them to want to work with her. Becky said that she will stoop down to Vanessa’s level in order to get her out of the game. Vanessa told Shelli that Becky told her that she will not be going on the block. Vanessa thinks that John will be the replacement nominee. Vanessa said Shelli will have hope if that happens, with it all coming down to what Steve decides. Moving forward, Vanessa thought that it may be good for the two of them and Steve to make a side alliance with James and Meg. Vanessa explained that she does not want Shelli to continue to be a target, so the play may be for her to tell James that she would not come after her. Vanessa did not want to continue to have to play week to week.
