BB17 Day 57 - Shelli and Jackie are evicted; Liz wins HoH
August 13, 2015
1:00-2:00 PM: Vanessa told Julia that if Becky is not going to be voted out, she is not going to nominate her. Julia said that Steve would vote Becky out if she is up against John, as would she. Vanessa said that they still need two more. Julia said that Austin and Liz would be the other two, since she would convince Liz that it is best for their game and then Austin would vote with Liz. Julia said that John will nominate Jackie and James, so he is a good person to have there. On the other hand, she said that Becky is a wildcard. Vanessa asked Liz if she would vote Becky out if she nominates her. Liz said absolutely and that it is not even a question in her mind. Vanessa was frustrated that Austin was choosing to study with Jackie, James and Meg. She said that they are against those people and they do not want them to win, since they would backdoor her. In the have-not room, Austin continued to speak to Jackie and Meg. Jackie and Meg said that they would nominate John and Vanessa, with Steve as the backdoor option. Austin asked how they would want the votes to go. Jackie said that they can vote out Johnny Mac. Austin said that he personally feels that getting John out is the best option. Austin said that he would leave the nominations the same if he won the PoV. Jackie told Austin that they would do the same for him if he nominates Becky and John, so that Austin would not have to nominate Vanessa. They would then vote John out over Becky.
2:00-3:00 PM: Austin spoke to the twins and told them that he agreed to nominate John and Steve if he wins HoH. He said that Becky would be the replacement nominee, since he cannot put two of their own up there. He said that they have to get John out no matter what and that they cannot use the veto on Vanessa if she is nominated next to John, because then one of them would go up in her place. Vanessa came by and heard about the plan. She told Austin that there is no way that Becky, Jackie, James and Meg are fine with him using Becky as the replacement nominee. Austin said that they are okay with it and he doesn’t want to hear Vanessa’s conspiracy theories. She said that there is no conspiracy theory and the truth is that her and the twins are on his side and always have been, while Becky, Jackie, James and Meg are not. Vanessa pointed out that James sent Jace and Clay home, and those were two of their allies. She also said that studying with them is not smart, since they could be feeding the wrong answers. Austin said that he doesn’t want to hear it and he is done. He then stormed out of the room. Vanessa told the twins that Austin wants to believe that those others are on his side. She acknowledged that they may be but they are on their side as a group.
Vanessa told Julia that Austin is on this and is studying with the others and then feeding Liz the wrong answers so that she does not win HoH. Vanessa said that Austin got upset when she brought up that the others could be feeding them the wrong answers, because she can see right through it. In the bathroom, Austin told Liz that he is sick of Vanessa’s conspiracies. He said that he has gone to bat for Vanessa for 48 hours and yet she still yells at him. Austin said that Shelli would not be doing this to him. He pointed out that Vanessa is acting way too crazy and he is sick of it. Liz told him that Vanessa will remain a target ahead of them. Austin agreed but said that Vanessa needs to stop telling him every 10 seconds that he cannot trust anyone but her. He said that Vanessa does not trust him or his ability to read people. Liz said that it’s better for Vanessa to stay. Austin said for now but he does not answer to Vanessa anymore. Austin said that Shelli would be staying if not for everything that he did for Vanessa over the past 24 hours. Austin told Liz that he feels bad for Shelli, since she did not treat him like this. Liz pointed out what Shelli did to him last week. Austin said that Vanessa had the power and was actually going to do it the week before. Austin felt that Vanessa needed to chill out, since she is barely staying and yet she is trying to tell him how to play out the next four weeks. Austin told Liz that Vanessa has done nothing for him except for make a bunch of jury deals that he didn’t know about, have The Generals alliance without him and then almost put him on the block. Austin let Liz know that he believes that he could work better with Shelli than with Vanessa, though it is too late.
Back in the bedroom, Vanessa questions whether or not Austin would backdoor her. She was concerned that Austin purposely picked a fight with her and is going to nominate her. Julia said that she will never forget what Austin did to her and she will never trust him. Julia agreed with Vanessa that Austin does not want Liz to win HoH and that he is feeding her incorrect information. Vanessa said that they need to drop it for now, otherwise Austin will realize that she is on to him and he may try to flip the vote. Julia told Liz that she is concerned about Austin and will never trust him. Liz said that Austin is the reason that they have made it to this point, because people would not fear them as much if they were only a duo. Julia let Liz know that Vanessa is paranoid that Austin would backdoor her. Liz said that Vanessa had better stop thinking that way, as she will be done with her if Vanessa nominates Austin. Julia assured Liz that Vanessa would not do that. Liz pointed out that it’s Vanessa, not Austin, that is making side deals.
6:00-7:00 PM: During the double eviction episode, Shelli was evicted by a unanimous vote of 8-0. Steve won HoH and nominated Jackie and Meg for eviction. Steve, Jackie, Meg, James, John and Vanessa played in the veto competition. John won the Power of Veto and decided to leave nominations the same. Jackie was evicted by a vote of 6-1. Becky was the lone vote to evict Meg.
7:00-8:00 PM: Meg questioned why Steve would target Jackie. Becky was also confused and said that they got along and would hang out. Meg wondered why he would not have targeted someone that was beating him in competitions. Becky said that Steve is going to be a wreck after this. Meg said that she doesn’t feel bad for him. She mentioned that he did not even have a conversation with Jackie before this. Vanessa spoke to Meg and said that she thinks that Steve put her up as a pawn because she is the one least likely to win a competition and come after him. She suggested that it was nothing personal. Meg said that it’s personal based on the conversations that Steve had with her because he told her that he was doing one thing and did another. Meg said that it’s funny because Jackie was not going after Steve at all. James then spoke with Meg. Meg said that she is pissed. James figured that this was all premeditated. James said that it had to have come from Austin or Vanessa. Meg said that they made a mistake getting rid of Shelli. James said that it would have happened either way. James said that John and Steve are working together, cause that’s the only reason that you keep the nominations the same.
Meg asked Becky what is going on in this house. She said that the only thing that she can think of is that John was mad that they sent Shelli home. Steve went to Becky, James and Meg to tell them that he is not capable of talking but he wants to say that he is sorry. He said that he will happily talk about everything with them once he is mentally capable of doing so. Steve then left. Meg said that she feels so stupid. Becky said that it may have been the plan the whole time. Meg said that Vanessa is so dirty and made her make a deal that she would not nominate or backdoor her in exchange for her vote. James said that she did the same thing with him. John told Becky, James and Meg that Steve asked him not to use the Power of Veto. James went to the diary room and spoke to Steve on his way. James thanked Steve for keeping him safe. Steve said that he had not heard anything about James coming after him. He apologized for what he did and said that he will talk to them once he has a clear state of mind. Steve then talked to himself and said that that wasn’t what he wanted at all, because he did not want to be HoH.
8:00-9:00 PM: James pointed out that there is one group that has not lost a single person this entire game. Becky said that she knew that Austin and Vanessa were trouble. Becky believes that Austin is much better than they give him credit for and it is dangerous that he has a little army behind him. John spoke to Becky and told her that Steve was not on board with getting rid of Vanessa and is not thinking the same way that they are. John said that Steve likes leaving big targets like Vanessa in the game, since he believes that he would be safe over them. John told Becky that Steve wanted to take a comp threat out, so it likely would have been James or her on the block if he had used the PoV. Becky said that she hates “The Mad Hatter” (Vanessa) and believes that Austin is a stronger player than they realize. Becky said that they could work together with Meg and James. John felt that he could pull Steve in to work with them as well. Becky went to James and Meg, telling them that John is far more likely to work with their side and they need the numbers. Meg said that she has to keep calm with Steve, since she wants to bite his head off. Becky and James told her that she cannot do that. Becky said that Steve has a close personal relationship with Steve, just like everyone else thought that they were. Becky left momentarily and Meg told James that they have to work with her but they will be careful about how much information they share with her. John joined them and said that he was afraid that Becky or James would have been nominated if he had used the PoV. They understood.
Meg asked who the most dangerous player on the other side is. John said Vanessa. Meg said that she never would have guessed that Vanessa had Steve in her back pocket. Becky mentioned that Vanessa is brilliant and can mold people. Becky explained that Vanessa creates paranoia, makes you believe that someone is against you and then offers a helping hand. Becky said that they need to nominate Austin and Vanessa, with Liz as the replacement. She explained that Austin and Vanessa are the minds and one of them has got to go. John went to Steve and told him that he is good with the others, since they are after Vanessa. Steve went to the have-not room to apologize to Meg. He said that the only info that he had was on Jackie. Meg told him that Jackie had no intention of nominating him and was never gunning for him. Becky and Meg told Steve that whoever gave him that information is lying to him. Becky told Steve that she fell into very similar traps with that person, implying Vanessa, and was convinced that Jackie had turned on her too.
9:00-10:00 PM: Meg told Steve that she feels as though this was all a set up to have him become the next target for their side. Becky and Meg assured Steve that they know that he was not behind the plan and that they know where it came from. They continued to share information about Vanessa, mostly without naming her. Becky said that they will be willing to overlook what happened with Jackie as long as Steve keeps all of this information to himself. Meg told Steve that Jackie will come back anyway and she will understand what happened. She said that everything happens for a reason and that maybe this was done to open the lines of communication between them. James told Steve that the group that he is talking to right now has been wanting to protect him. Steve said that’s why he came to apologize.
10:00-11:00 PM: Liz won the HoH competition. Vanessa immediately went to work on making Becky the next target. She told Julia that Becky needs to go because Jackie could come back and they do not want to have those two in the game together. Julia said that she likes Meg and James kept them safe, so she wants Becky to go too. Julia figured that she would be able to win the physical competitions once Becky is gone. Vanessa added that Becky broke the deal last week and was mean to her. Vanessa then told Liz that the optimal target is Becky, cause they do not want to risk her forming with Jackie if she returns. Elsewhere, Becky told Meg that Vanessa will is going to ensure that she is the #1 target this week. Becky said that she knew that Shelli needed to stay, due to Vanessa’s ability to move the masses. Becky said that Vanessa has been behind everything that happened in the house and that she can use other people to make the moves that she wants to make, because she is so good at manipulating. Vanessa spoke to John and told him that he is not the target and that he will not go home, even if he is nominated. John told Steve that he expects to go on the block. He said that The Goblins will throw him under the bus because they know that he was going after Vanessa. Steve explained that he wanted to keep Vanessa around because she is someone that would go home over them if they are nominated together. Steve asked John what Vanessa was talking to him about. He said that she wants the three of them to work together. Steve asked if he was kidding and said “please tell me you are lying”.
11:00-12:00 AM: In the hammock room, Austin, Liz, Julia, Steve and Vanessa discussed the game plan. Vanessa told them that the best move is to nominate Becky and John together, because John is the only one that can beat Becky in the veto competition. Liz was worried that Becky would come after her if she stayed. Vanessa assured her that Becky would target her before Liz. Vanessa also said that nominating John would avoid unnecessarily upsetting James and Meg, which Austin agreed with. Vanessa told Liz to explain that Becky gave her word and broke it, so she cannot be relied on. They discussed what to do if Becky wins the PoV. Julia said that she does not want to send John home. She suggested targeting James. Liz agreed and so did Vanessa. Vanessa suggested that they make a Final 6 deal with James and Meg. The others agreed. Austin said that those two would understand that Becky has done a lot of shady things and therefore she needs to go. If James ends up having to get backdoored, Vanessa said “oh well” and that another deal broke through. Austin wondered how they can pull John in, since he has a good shot at winning HoH. Vanessa told them that they can make another Final 6 deal with John and Steve. Austin told Vanessa that it would be smart for her to make a three person deal with John and Steve too, since she could play the Shelli role and it would make sense since people think that there are two other trios in the house. Austin, Liz, Julia and Vanessa decided to call themselves “Austin’s Angels”.
Austin, Liz and Julia stayed behind to continue talking. Julia pointed out that it was weird that Vanessa did not want them to mention that Becky was the one to tell John, Shelli and Steve about the 8 person deal. Julia told Liz to bring it up to Becky to find out what really happened. Liz questioned how they know that Becky was the rat. Austin said that they don’t and that it could have been Vanessa. He figured that Vanessa told Shelli and then Shelli told everyone. Liz also wondered who was going to go after Vanessa if they send Becky out. Austin said that they cannot go after Vanessa themselves right now, so their options are limited. He did not want to go after James and Meg either. Liz asked who she should nominate if John wins the PoV. Austin said to nominate Meg and send Becky home. Austin revealed that he is not on the same page as Vanessa when it comes to targeting James if Becky wins PoV. He said that getting John out first may be better. Julia said that targeting John is a waste. Austin disagreed, pointing out that John is one of the top performers in every competition. Liz told Julia that she likes James more than John. Austin figured that John would have nominated him next to Vanessa had he won HoH.
1:00-2:00 AM: Vanessa spoke to James and told him that Austin and the twins are wanting to make a Final 6 deal. James said that he would definitely be on board. They discussed that they could name the group “Brass Tacks”. Austin spoke to Liz and said that they are not going to make Vanessa’s decision this week. He said that taking out Becky would be the best case scenario, with taking out John being the second best scenario. Austin told Liz that Vanessa's idea of taking James out, if Becky wins PoV, is terrible. Austin admitted that he is a bit worried about Vanessa potentially taking John and Steve along with her and then beating them in the Final 6. He also pointed out that Becky and Vanessa would be going at it if John happened to leave.
2:00-3:00 AM: Liz, Austin and Julia spoke to James and Meg. Liz let James and Meg know that they still want to work with them. She said that they want this five to be the “Brass Tacks” and Vanessa is there on the outside. Liz said that she plans to make this move based on everything that she has known up to this point, not just based on what she hears now that she is HoH. Meg said that she is open to whichever direction Liz decides to go, since there is not really a wrong choice. Liz told James that they will not forget what he has done for them. James brought up that he heard a lot of things about what Becky has been doing, such as targeting him, creating The Generals, and feeding info to Clay and Shelli. Meg said that Becky thinks that she is probably going home. Austin said that it’s because she thinks that Vanessa is still running the show. Liz said that they to figure out who told the others about the Final 8. Meg said that it was either Becky or Vanessa. Meg mentioned that they need to be careful because there is a lot of manipulation going on. Austin said that John concerns him for that reason, because he could be manipulated. James asked how to proceed with Vanessa. Austin said that they are not going after her, so make her feel as though it is a six person thing. After James and Meg left, Liz said that Vanessa is sketchy and came up to her and said that she told James about the deal ahead of time. Austin said that they cannot get rid of her right now but if she ends up going next week when someone else is HoH, oh well.
Becky spoke to Austin and the twins. Becky reminded them that she was HoH last week and didn’t even consider letting them go up on the block. Becky explained that she would have nominated John last week but her group was behind her nominating Vanessa, yet they ended up changing their mind afterwards and she had take full responsibility for it. Becky said that she will own her decision but she wouldn’t have made the move against Vanessa without having people behind her. Becky said that she found out that Clay and Shelli knew about the eight person deal because Vanessa had told them in the bathroom one morning during the wake up music. Becky pointed out that Vanessa was covering herself on all sides. Austin asked Becky if someone was supposed to throw the Battle of the Block when Becky was nominated with Clay and Liz was nominated with James. Becky confirmed that there was a plan for James to throw the competition and Vanessa knew about it. Austin said that he would not be there right now if it had worked. Becky said that Austin did nothing wrong, just like Clay and Shelli had done nothing wrong.
3:00-4:00 AM: Becky explained how Jackie and Vanessa made James, Jason and Meg decide who would volunteer to go on the block and throw the competition. Becky again said that Austin did nothing wrong but Vanessa had no use for him once the other side wanted Austin to go. Becky said that Vanessa with Clay and Shelli until they were nominated, at which point she separated herself and publicly outed them. Becky told them that Vanessa moves groups and she was the one that put the thought in Steve’s head that he should backdoor Jackie. Becky pointed out that she told Vanessa that she is controlling the votes last week, cause she had her three people and Steve. She explained that the very next morning Vanessa was doing Steve’s hair and giving him a makeover, wanting to get him on her side in order to flip the votes to save Shelli even though she had just said that she would vote Shelli out. Once Vanessa went on the block and had gotten over it and got out of her bed to campaign, Becky said that it only took her 3 hours to flip the vote. She said that Vanessa is a very dangerous social player. Liz asked Becky where John stands and who he would have went after. Becky said that she thought that she knew better prior to tonight. She told Liz that John and Steve play very defensively and do not name names, so she does not know.
After the talk with Becky, Austin immediately said that they need to leave Becky in the game to take out Vanessa. He said that they are in too deep with Vanessa to nominate her, but they can take out John and keep Becky. Austin said that Vanessa is only with them when it is convenient for her. Steve came up to the HoH room. Austin told him that nobody is throwing his name under the bus and they seem to believe that he was manipulated into making the move that he did. Austin said that nobody is naming names but it seems like they are implying that Vanessa got in Steve's head about taking out Jackie. Vanessa then joined them and said that the DR informed her that they have to change their "Freaks and Geeks" alliance name, due to copyright issues. Liz suggested "The Scamperers". Austin then said "Scamper Squad". Everyone was on board with Scamper Squad.
Julia said that she couldn’t even look at Vanessa when she was up there, cause she thought that she could trust her. Liz said that Vanessa is trying to be the Derrick, making a lot of deals with people, but she is not getting away with it like Derrick did. Austin said that they need Becky and Vanessa both there to go after each other. Austin figured that John would come after them if they took Vanessa out. Julia said that Becky would go after Vanessa, not them. Austin agreed and said that that’s why Vanessa wants Becky out, but she didn’t win HoH. If John wins the PoV, Austin said that they would have to put Meg up and send Becky home. Liz questioned if John would go after Vanessa too. Austin said no and that they made a deal right before this HoH. Julia said that Becky needs to stay over John, because they need her to take out Vanessa. Julia said that it infuriates her that Vanessa went downstairs after making the eight person deal and told everyone that everyone is after her. Julia said that she feels manipulated by Vanessa. Liz said that Vanessa has not done her and Julia wrong but she still does not trust her, because Vanessa will do whatever she can to stay in the game. Julia said that she doesn’t blame James for throwing the BoB with Liz. She said that she blames Vanessa for allowing that plan to happen.
They agreed that they have been played by Vanessa, though Austin said that they are in too deep to try to go after Vanessa. Austin said that Vanessa would go after them at the Final 6. Liz wanted Austin to tell James that the Brass Tacks group is really just the five of them and that they are fine with James and Meg going after Vanessa. Liz was concerned that they would be targeted if that went out. Austin said that it would be their word against James’ word. He again said that Vanessa would go after them at the Final 6, aligning with John and Steve. Julia agreed with the new plan to get rid of John over Becky. Liz said that she is scared of Becky but not scared of John. She said that she wants them both gone. Austin said that John can go if that’s what Liz wants. However, he felt that they could spin things to Becky in a way that would not result in having Becky target Liz next. Liz was worried that Becky would tell John that he is the target. Austin said that they will let her know that they are voting her out if she does that. Liz asked who they are going after once John goes. Austin said Vanessa.
