BB17 Day 59 - Liz wins the Power of Veto

August 15, 2015

9:00-10:00 AM: Austin told Liz that Becky confirming that Vanessa was in on the plan to have James throw the Battle of the Block when nominated with Liz was a big turning point. He said that it set everything into motion for next week, with Vanessa being the target. Liz said that she really needs her nominations to stay the same this week. Austin said that it is going to get ugly if the veto is used. Julia asked if Meg would be mad about being a pawn. Austin said yes and that James would have to be the pawn, because they have the votes that they need. Austin said that James and Meg will then be questioning why they are not nominating Steve and also why they are not going after Vanessa when everyone hates her. Liz said that she will not be nominating Vanessa, because she has no reason to do it. Austin figured that the best case scenario would be that Becky wins the PoV and then they bring up the six and say that one of them needs to go up to cover up their alliance. If John wins, Austin felt that it would look really weird to Becky if she has James or Meg being put up next to her. Austin thought that the best case scenario may be to have Vanessa win the veto, because it would eliminate any discussions about her being the replacement nominee.

10:00-11:00 AM: Liz told Julia that the diary room keeps asking about all of the Vanessa stuff. Liz said that she hopes that they are not asking Vanessa about it as well, because that will look sketchy to her. Liz figured that Vanessa did not yet realize that they are on to her. After chatting with Becky, Austin joined the twins in the HoH room. He said that Becky is worried about John winning the veto. Julia said that Becky will be sealing her fate if she doesn’t win the PoV. Austin told Liz that if she has to nominate James or Meg, Steve is going to be questioning why they are not being sent home. Austin felt that they may lose Steve unless they let him in on what is going with James and Meg to some extent. Austin mentioned that the alternative to nominating James would be to tell Steve that people are on to their group and therefore they have to use him as the pawn in order to hide it. Julia said that she believes that it would be easier to get John on board with working with them than to get Becky on board. Austin agreed and pointed out that they would be at the centre of everything if they worked with John. Austin said that Vanessa is the only one that could ruin that, since she knows about their alliances. They talked about how Vanessa is the target for everyone next week. Austin’s concern was that they would be the next target if Vanessa somehow managed to win the PoV.

1:00-2:00 PM: Players were picked for the veto competition. Liz, Becky, John, Austin, Meg and Steve will be competing. James is hosting the competition. John spoke to Austin and said that he doesn’t care whether or not he wins, because he trusts them. Austin said that he can throw it to him if he wants, cause the votes are locked in and everything will be fine as long as Becky does not win. Austin mentioned that Steve winning and not using it on John would be a good way to throw people off, since everyone believes that the two of them are tight after last week.

2:00-3:00 PM: Becky told John that James and Meg are safe and they are not going to play for her. John agreed. Becky said that she has a 1 in 6 chance to win. John said 1 in 5, because he is not going to win it. Becky told John to win it. Becky said that she knows that she is most likely going home this week. John told her that this is her shot. Becky said that her guess is that Meg will go on the block if John wins, ensuring that she would be the one to go. Becky said that she will have a 1 in 4 chance to come back, even if she ends up leaving, but she is not counting herself out just yet.

3:00-4:00 PM: Up in the HoH room, Liz told Austin that she would like to keep Vanessa until someone returns from jury. She explained that anyone that returns would then want to go after Vanessa. John joined them in the HoH room. He said that he will throw the veto competition, because he trusts them. Austin again told him that he is safe as long as Becky does not win. Austin said that John would have his vote and would also have Julia’s and Steve’s votes. Liz said that she appreciates John going along with everything, since she does not want to have to choose a replacement nominee. They discussed that they would like to work together moving forward. Austin told John that Vanessa is going to try to pull him and Steve in to work together. He said that John can go along with it. John admitted that Vanessa has been trying to bury the hatchet with him already. He said that he is going along with it but will make his move against her if he wins HoH.

7:00-8:00 PM: Liz won the Power of Veto. The veto competition was OTEV. Liz beat Austin in the final round of the competition. Austin, Liz and Julia discussed that it worked out perfectly because Liz can now leave her nominations the same and not get any additional blood on her hands. They discussed evicting Becky.

8:00-9:00 PM: Vanessa headed up to the HoH room and pointed out to Liz that the two of them now have two HoH wins and one PoV win. Vanessa asked if Liz is still targeting Becky over John. Liz confirmed that she is. Vanessa said that she remembered something that Becky had done while James was HoH. She explained that Becky ran down to Clay and Shelli to tell them that she was trying to get the twins nominated instead of the two of them. Vanessa asked if John has mentioned who he would target. Liz said no. Vanessa told Austin and Liz that Becky needs to go, since she could form a group with Jackie and John if Jackie ends up returning. After Vanessa left, Austin told Liz that that was a good conversation and that they need to make Vanessa feel amazing by the end of the week. Austin felt that they were in a good spot, since everyone would go after Vanessa. He said that he and Julia should probably not win the next HoH, though he did not want to risk that. They discussed that information that Vanessa gave them about Becky. Austin said that Vanessa is trying to bury Becky because she is afraid of getting backdoored. He figured that Vanessa does not trust him and thinks that he may get in Liz’s ear to have him nominate her.

9:00-10:00 PM: Vanessa asked Steve if their Final 2 deal is still good. Steve said yes. Vanessa asked if Steve would choose her over John. He said yes. Vanessa said that her Final 2 with Steve is the only one that she has. Steve let Vanessa know that people have been saying that she is the one that made the eight person alliance. Vanessa said that it wasn’t even an alliance and she was not the one that made it. She said that she was the last one in the room and she was lucky that she was even included. Steve said that she does not need to convince him and that he was only giving her a heads up that that’s out there. Vanessa asked Steve how they will get to the end together if they make the Final 5 with Austin, Liz and Julia. Steve said that’s a great question. She asked if it was possible. Steve said that it probably was not. Vanessa then asked if it stupid for them to get to the Final 5 with that group, asking if that is even what they want. Steve suggested that they take things one step at a time. He said that right now he is focusing on mending things between John and Vanessa, because that will help them down the line. Vanessa wondered if John would ever be open to anything with her. Steve said that John is in a funk but he will be fine once he is out of it. Vanessa asked what the chances are that Liz leaves her nominations the same. Steve said 100%. Vanessa agreed. After Vanessa left, Steve spoke to the camera and said that Vanessa is lying to his face, because she created the eight person alliance. Vanessa had asked Steve who they should target next. She said that she has someone in mind but will not tell him until he gives a name too. Steve told the camera that he will not tell Vanessa his target. He also said that he still needs their Final 2 deal, because she will take the blood for everything that he does and she will not get any jury votes. Steve said that Vanessa will never get rid of him, as long as he plays the role of her blindly loyal minion. Steve admitted that he is skeptical of Vanessa for the first time but he said that he will not let her know that.

11:00-12:00 AM: Becky and John discussed that things have not been going well for them. Becky mentioned that Jackie never would have gone after Steve. She said that Jackie likes both John and Steve. John said that Becky or James would have been nominated if he had used the veto. Becky agreed. John told Becky that he is not going to feel bad about stabbing any of these people in the back now, except for Steve. John figured that Steve really would be loyal to him until the end. John said that the Austin, Liz and Julia threesome is going to be a powerhouse. He told Becky that he needs James or Meg to win an HoH. Becky said that Meg will not win one. They discussed Vanessa. Becky told John that Vanessa has the “I’m an independent, you’re an independent" talk with everyone in the house, acting as though she lend a helping hand. Becky said that Vanessa then gets you to open up and talk game with her, before using the things that you say against you when needed. Becky told John that Vanessa burns the people closest to her the hardest. John brought up that Vanessa may be a good person to bring to the end if she keeps playing like this, because no one likes her. Becky disagreed. As for Austin and the twins, Becky said that they can play. She suggested that Austin and Steve are two people that can turn it on when they need to and that are playing good games.

12:00-1:00 AM: Up in the HoH room, Austin, Steve and the twins discussed that they will be keeping John over Becky. Steve said that it is the right move to make, because Becky and Jackie would be a strong duo if they got to play together again. Julia asked who John would nominate if he won HoH. Austin said Vanessa and then either James or Meg. Steve asked what they need from him this week. Austin told him to monitor the Vanessa stuff for him. Austin said that Vanessa has all of their secrets, so they need to make her feel comfortable with them. Liz said that that’s the reason why they cannot be the ones to take her out. Austin and Julia suggested that John winning HoH would be ideal, since he can go after Vanessa and because he will not nominate any of them. Steve headed downstairs and told John that he just spoke to Austin and the twins and they are all on board with keeping him. Steve told John that he needs to win HoH. John asked what he would do then, because if he breaks up James and Meg then the two of them are the next pair to target. John added that they would also only have Steve competing in the HoH competition. Steve asked if John is suggesting that they throw HoH and let James and Meg and Austin and the twins go after each other. John said as of now but things can change.

Austin told Julia and Meg that he expects Vanessa to try to secure herself with everyone by the end of the week, then she will throw HoH. Meg asked wha the plan is for who to target this week. Austin said that they believe that it is best to target Becky, because John can stay and either go after Vanessa for them or throw competitions to them. Austin mentioned that John had told him that he trusts them enough to throw today’s veto competition. Meg asked if Vanessa is trying to get anyone else nominated. Austin said that she is not, seeing as Becky is the person that she fears the most in the house. Meg figured that getting Becky out may then make it even more likely that Vanessa will throw HoH. Meg said that Steve scares her in this game. Austin said that nobody will beat Steve if he makes it to the Final 4 or 5. As for Vanessa, Meg said that she has become a little less dangerous now that everyone is on to her. Meg suggested that Vanessa’s manipulation tactics no longer work on people. However, Meg said that Vanessa cannot be kept around for too long, otherwise she will go around like a mad woman if she gets in power.

1:00-2:00 AM: James joined Austin, Julia and Meg in the HoH room. He was informed that Becky is the target. Austin told James that Vanessa is claiming that James created the eight person alliance to target Shelli, John and Steve. He also said that Vanessa is saying that Becky tried to get the twins nominated when James was HoH. James did not recall that. Moving forward, James suggested that getting Vanessa out next week needs to be the priority, because they do not want her to team back up with Shelli if Shelli returns. Austin asked if they should nominate Vanessa initially. Meg and James said yes. Austin thought that the better alternative may be to nominate John and Steve, nominating Vanessa if the veto is used.

2:00-3:00 AM: Liz told Austin that Vanessa is the new Audrey and that nobody believes anything that she says at this point. Austin said that he is going to try to win HoH next week. He told Liz that he does not care if Vanessa tries to out everything. Austin brought up that Vanessa had a meltdown when the live feeds turned, possibly as a strategic move in order to appear weak and emotional. Liz said that if Vanessa had been able to keep her mouth shut, she could have went very far. Liz felt that Vanessa reminded her of Derrick. Liz mentioned that it sucks that they have to worry about the people in jury, because she would otherwise like to go off on Vanessa. Liz explained that they have caught Vanessa red handed, lying to their faces even though she claims to hate liars. Liz believes that whoever returns from jury should be sent right back out, given that they have already had their chance.
