BB17 Day 62
August 18, 2015
5:00-6:00 PM: Steve and Vanessa chatted outside while the others slept. Vanessa asked Steve what he talks about when he talks to the live feeders. He said that he says similar things to what he would say in the diary room. He then said that he tells them that he is going to backdoor Vanessa because she is sneaky. Steve then brought up that it’s weird that their Freaks and Geeks/Scamper Squad alliance was not being shown as an alliance on the show until this week. They discussed that they hope that it didn’t make it seem as though they weren’t playing when they had that alliance since Week 3. Steve mentioned that they are in the same position that the Detonators were in last season, because they each had five of the final eight houseguests. After Vanessa headed inside, Steve said that he likes how Vanessa thought that he was joking when he talked about backdooring her. He said that he was not joking but he is not doing it just yet. Steve told the feeders that he wants James out this week, since it would prevent a trio from forming once someone returns. He felt that it would only then be Meg and James or Meg and Becky or Meg and Jackie. He thought that Shelli returning may be best. Steve revealed that he does not want to win the upcoming HoH competition. He said that he is safe next to Austin, Julia, Liz, Vanessa and John.
John spoke to Steve and told him that he thinks that they need to get Vanessa out. He said that they cannot let James or Meg leave instead. John then said that he hopes that whoever returns will go after Austin, Liz and Julia. Steve said that he wholeheartedly acknowledges that that needs to be done. John figured that both Becky and Jackie would go after Austin and the twins. Steve asked if Becky would go after Vanessa. John said that he is assuming that she will be gone next week but Becky will want to go after Austin and the twins after what happened this week. John told Steve not to worry about having Becky or Jackie return, because they could smooth things over with them. John brought up that it would not be a smart move for Austin and the twins to take Vanessa out, so it would be dangerous to nominate James or Meg next to her. John suggested that Steve, Austin, Liz or Julia may need to be used as a pawn. Steve wondered if they would really keep Meg over Vanessa. John said that they might do it because Meg is going to work with whoever comes back, not because she is a threat. John said that he would be okay with Jackie, James and Meg forming a trio if they take Vanessa out first. John pointed out that there would then be two groups of three, with himself and Steve on the outside. John figure that those groups would then go after each other before they target the two of them. Steve again asked John who he would nominate with Vanessa. John said that it would have to be a twin or Steve.
Steve said that what makes him nervous about going up next to Vanessa is that James and Meg may have the same deal with Austin and the twins that the two of them do. John wasn’t so sure about that but Steve pointed out that they kept James and Meg safe for a reason this week, using John as a pawn instead of one of them. John said that Steve is right. Steve asked if they should make their group of five with Austin and the twins an actual Final 5. John said that he will do what is best for the two of them when it comes down to it, targeting one of the five when they get down to six. John thought that Becky, Jackie and Shelli would all want to work with them if they returned. He said that Shelli returning might hurt them, since she would come to them and put a bigger target on their backs. John did not want to be perceived as being in a group of three, which is another reason why he said that he wants Vanessa out. John told Steve that people will know that they may pull Vanessa in at any time. While he was previously concerned about Vanessa due to how she is playing the game, John said that it is now about numbers. Steve said that he was not sold on the Vanessa thing at first, but it is starting to make a lot of sense. John said that as long as there are groups of three around them, they will be okay. Steve agreed.
7:00-8:00 PM: James and Meg talked about seeing John, Steve and Vanessa chatting outside earlier. James said that once he came outside, then John and Steve said they had to go do things and scattered. James figured that Vanessa was probably trying to reel them in. Meg said that her gut is telling her that John is playing them all harder than they may think. James said that his gut is telling him the same thing. Meg then spoke to Liz and told her about seeing John, Steve and Vanessa talking. She also said that she had a really weird conversation with John the other day. Meg explained that John was not targeting Vanessa at all based on the conversation that she had with him. Liz said that John just might not want to talk about it, though Meg said that he has spoke to her about it in the past.
11:00-12:00 AM: Liz told Austin and Julia about her talk with Meg earlier. She said that James and Meg saw John, Steve and Vanessa talking together. Julia questioned if John would come after one of them if he won HoH. Austin said that he would not. He asked Julia if she wants to take John out instead of Becky now. Julia said no. Austin pointed out that Becky would not be able to form a relationship with Vanessa if she stayed, but John would. They said that they will have to see what Steve tells them about the conversation. Austin said that he really trusts Steve now. Liz suggested that they talk to Vanessa too. Austin did not want to initially, though he said that they can ask her if she had a talk with John and Steve yet, since they had previously discussed that she may talk to them. If she denied it, they said that they would know that she is lying. Julia figured that Vanessa was trying to pitch that the three of them are the outsiders and they need to work together. Julia asked if they thought that Becky knows that she is for sure going home. Austin said no. Liz asked if she has cornered them find out which way they are voting. Austin said that she has not and that they only had the one conversation with her up in the HoH room yesterday. Liz figured that it would be best not to blindside Becky. Austin mentioned telling her that they need her to give some reasons not to keep John, because things have started to flip.
12:00-1:00 AM: Austin told the twins that John is not trying to get with Vanessa. He felt that both John and Steve are with them. Austin pointed out that Steve proved himself during the double eviction. Julia asked if they are still planning on getting Vanessa out next week. Austin thought that it would depend on who wins HoH. Liz said that Julia should not win, since she cannot backdoor Vanessa. Julia said that she will never throw a competition. Austin told Liz that it’s too risky to throw it at this point. However, Austin thought that throwing it to Steve would be a safe option. Austin and Julia agreed that Steve would nominate James and Meg. Meg entered the HoH room and told Austin and the twins that she is expecting an endurance competition on Thursday. She expects that because the houseguests were told that they indoor lockdown will begin at 5:30 AM tonight, which earlier than usual. Meg said that Steve is unlikely to want to win HoH. Meg brought up her concerns about John not saying that he is targeting Vanessa during her latest talk with him. Austin said that John may be hanging out with Vanessa just to make her feel good so that she may throw HoH. Meg mentioned that Steve needs to go soon. They discussed that he will be strong in the competitions towards the end of the game.
Becky and John enjoyed their last night in the backyard. They chatted outside. John asked Becky if she is ready to come back. Becky said yeah. John told her that he wants either her or Jackie to return, not Shelli. John told Becky to let Jackie know that he would like to work with her. John said that he did not know that Jackie was not coming after them, until Becky explained some things this week. Becky told John that if he and Steve are not connected with anyone yet, she would suggest that they wait until after the HoH competition to choose a side. John brought up that they would be bigger targets if they were on the James and Meg side. He said that he has been working on Steve and does not think that Steve is working with Vanessa any longer. John said that his plan is to get rid of Vanessa if he wins HoH next week. Becky said that she expects to see either Julia or Meg in the Final 3 100%. Becky figured that Meg was the more likely option, given that people see that Liz is strong and will assume that Julia will be strong as well.
2:00-3:00 AM: Becky told John that she is ready for Thursday to happen. She said that the week is really dragging out, especially since nobody wants to give definitive answers about whether or not she is staying. John said that they got put in this position because the others felt that they had the best chance to win competitions. He said that he expected this since they lost HoH. Becky said that Liz has done some really good stuff lately and she respects that. John mentioned that he will have to keep Steve tighter moving forward, since he did not give him as much information as he gave Becky. He said that it is a blessing and a curse to have Steve, because they will be a target. John asked Becky if she would stick with James and Meg if he left. She said that she would in a way but those two are attached at the hip.
