BB17 Day 66 - Vanessa Wins The Power of Veto
August 22, 2015
10:00-11:00 AM: John headed up to the HoH room and asked who he should pick to play in the veto competition. He asked if it even matters. Austin said that’s a good question and he doesn’t think that it matters. Austin suggested that he could pick a James or a Meg. John asked if choosing Liz or Julia would make things too obvious. Austin said that’s true. John said that picking Meg would be funny. If she was gone, John said that he could pick Liz or Julia. Liz told him to pick Julia since she has never played in a veto competition. Austin said that he has to pick strategically, since he was just put on the block by him. Austin said Julia or Meg should be safe options. Austin said that hopefully it’s a competition where they can see each other. John said yeah, cause then Austin can give it to him or Steve and not have to take the blame. After John left, Austin told Liz that they have to be teammates with John if he wins it, cause they are going to be playing with the winners.
11:00-12:00 PM: Steve told John that he learned the importance of being the last person in Austin’s ear, after Vanessa spoke to Austin right before nominations and prevented herself from going on the block. Steve said that it looks like if one of them wins the PoV it will be James or Vanessa going on the block in their place. John asked if Steve thinks that anyone else would use the veto on them. Steve said that James and Meg want Vanessa out, while Vanessa and the others want James out, so he thinks so. John thought that Austin would use the veto on one of them as well, which Steve agreed with.
12:00-1:00 PM: Julia asked Vanessa when she thinks that Steve needs to go. Vanessa said that she is thinking sooner than later. She suggested that he may even need to go before James goes, since he can win more competitions than James can. Vanessa figured that Austin could win the same competitions that James can win, while Steve is stronger in other areas. Julia said that the thing about Steve is he will go after people like James and Meg. Vanessa replied with “so he says”. Julia asked if Vanessa does not believe Steve. Vanessa said that she sees Steve as someone that will do whatever it takes to win, without feeling bad about it for a second. Vanessa said that she gets annoyed at Steve because of how two faced and phony he is. Julia asked if Vanessa thinks that John and Steve have been working together for the entire game. Vanessa said yes. She thought that John and Steve have told each other everything, including Steve telling John about the twins and the Freaks and Geeks alliance. Julia said that the worst case scenario is that John wins the PoV. Vanessa asked if James would go on the block. Julia figured that he would. They discussed that James would then be the target.
3:00-4:00 PM: Players were picked for the veto competition. Austin, John, Steve, Julia, Meg and Vanessa will be playing in the veto competition. John and Steve chatted in the bedroom. John said that he trusts Austin that he will follow through with the plan. Steve said that he is really nervous that the six person alliance between Austin, Vanessa, Liz, Julia, James and Meg is solid. He said that it’s the only way to explain these nominations, so he feels that there is something going on that they don’t know about. Otherwise, Steve said that it does not make sense to nominate two allies. Steve told John that they have to win the PoV and then pray that Vanessa is nominated or at least that James gets nominated and they can make it through this week. Steve said that he would be lying if he said that he hasn’t thrown his fair share of HoHs. He told John that that phase of his game is now done with. Steve said that he didn't think that he would go up this week but this shows where he stands.
5:00-6:00 PM: Austin whispered in Liz’s ear that based on the questions that he is being asked in the diary room, someone is lying to them. Austin said that Steve was going to backdoor Becky and not James, so James and Steve might have something going on between them. Austin said that Steve also refused to go up with John, so he showed his hand there as well. Austin mentioned that Steve chose them over Jackie, James and Meg, which is the only thing that doesn’t fit. Austin worried that someone was telling the others what they have been saying, since they have been mentioning so many different targets. Liz said that’s why she is worried about playing all sides of the house. Austin said that they kind of have to at this point.
6:00-7:00 PM: Liz told Austin that she thinks that either John or Steve needs to go this week. Austin asked if she even wants to be in a Final 5 with Steve and Vanessa, since they will lose. Liz said that she does not. Austin said that if Steve goes this week, Vanessa is still there as a target. Austin was worried that Steve may be the loyal one though. They agreed that they would prefer John come back if he goes than to have Steve come back if they turned on him. Austin said that John may have broken their deal with him by potentially lying about Vanessa, saying that she told Clay and Shelli about the eight person deal when she did not. Austin said that this is a huge decision this week and one of them will be leaving next week or the one after if they do not make the right move. Liz figured that it would be her, since they would want to break up the twins and split her from Austin. Austin suggested that they get James and Meg to mention a target, then if everyone says that they want Vanessa out, Vanessa is the one that they will have to protect. Liz told Austin that they are fools if they think that they are good with everyone. She said that she is on to John and Steve and she is also worried about James and Steve working together. Liz mentioned that they may need to get Steve out this week. Austin said that taking out Vanessa would allow James, Meg, John and Steve to align against them, if Vanessa truly is alone. Austin brought up that Vanessa may be able to do something huge for them this week. He said that she could possibly win the veto, use it “without their knowledge” and then they are forced to take out James since there is no other option.
11:00-12:00 AM: Feeds returned after a lengthy veto competition. Vanessa won the Power of Veto. Austin, Liz, Julia and Vanessa were up in the HoH room. They were wondering why Meg was crying after the veto competition. Austin was concerned that it may be because James and Meg were playing him. Vanessa said that she is not using the Power of Veto unless Austin wants it to be used. Vanessa headed downstairs and talked to Meg while she was in the shower. Meg said that she was crying because she performed poorly in the competition and she didn’t mean to take away from Vanessa’s win. Vanessa told James and Meg that the plan is to keep the nominations the same. Vanessa then spoke to the twins in the have-not room. They discussed who they should target, John or Steve. Vanessa said that she wants to talk to Austin to see if he wants the veto to be used and to hear his thoughts on everything. The twins said that John would be easier to beat than Steve would. Vanessa spoke to John, saying that it’s weird how Meg was crying and it makes her wonder if the plan was to backdoor her. John said that he thought that the plan was to backdoor James. He told Vanessa that he did not hear anything about her being the target. Vanessa said that even if someone was going to get backdoored, it was never going to be Meg. John said that she might be crying cause James is all that she has got and she doesn’t want to lose him. John said that he does not expect Vanessa to use the veto on him. Vanessa said that she will be doing whatever Austin wants. Vanessa explained that she had some words with Austin and she owes him one, so she had agreed to do what he wants with it if she were to win. Vanessa told John to speak to Austin if he wants her to use the PoV on him, cause she will if Austin tells her to.
12:00-1:00 AM: Liz told Julia that Steve is really fake. They discussed how he made a big deal about going on the block and now he is expecting to get the veto used on him. Julia said that she doesn’t think that Vanessa should use it. Liz agreed. She said that she had a good talk with James and believes that he is on their side for now. Liz said that Steve is so sketchy and she wants him gone so bad. Julia said that Steve will be next. Julia said that she wants John gone. Liz wanted John and Steve to campaign, cause she wants to get some info on Steve. They agreed that Steve would be more loyal to them than John would. Julia said that Vanessa will keep the nominations the same and they will get John out. Liz was concerned that Steve thinks that they have a five person alliance with him and John. She said that Steve will know that something is up if James or Meg do not go on the block. The girls agreed that they had spread themselves too thin.
1:00-2:00 AM: Meg spoke to the twins in the HoH room. They discussed that nominations should be staying the same and now they just have to decide who they should send out. Meg pointed out that Steve would be stronger than John in question based competitions. Meg asked who Vanessa wants out. Liz said that she probably wants to keep Steve. Meg told the girls that that’s more reason to keep John, since he is after Vanessa. Meg said that John is getting beat down the more and more that he keeps getting put on the block, making him less of a threat. Down in the bedroom, Austin and Vanessa discussed that everything between them is in the past. Austin said that he wants them to be where they were at the beginning. Vanessa asked if Austin has any further concerns with her. Austin said no and that he wants them to be able to talk about anything with each other. Vanessa let Austin know that she only trusts him, Liz and Julia. She said that she is fine money wise, more so than he realizes, and she is willing to go to the Final 4 with them. They then said that there is something up with Steve and that he may be working with James. Vanessa brought up that Steve likely told John about the eight person deal, since she told Steve, yet John is protecting Steve by saying that he heard it from her. Austin let Vanessa know that John still wants to target her. They wanted to get to the bottom of why James tried so hard to win HoH and why Meg was crying after the veto comp. Liz came by and Austin told her that they are back with Vanessa 100%. They told Liz that they believe that James, Meg, John and Steve are together and that they had planned to vote Vanessa out and make it 5 on 3 against Austin, Liz and Julia.
2:00-3:00 AM: Austin, Liz and Vanessa headed up to the HoH room. Julia and Steve were in there. Austin said that he wanted to go to sleep, in order to get Steve to leave. The other four then begun talking game. Vanessa told them all about her theory that James, Meg, John and Steve are together and that they all planned to vote her out if she went on the block as a pawn. Austin pointed out that Steve has been saying that he wants James and Meg out. Vanessa said that she has seen both John and Steve talking to James in the past week. Vanessa said that she is going to play Steve’s game with him, being so fake. Austin asked what Steve is going to do if he wins HoH. Vanessa said that he will go after James and Meg, cause she is going to make him feel as though everything is okay. Austin asked if it would be possible to bring John in. Vanessa said that either John or Steve would have to work with them if the other one were to leave. Julia said that Steve is a way bigger threat than John is. Vanessa said that the things that John is good at competition wise are now done. Vanessa told them that she wouldn’t even care if John was gunning for her, because she would have the votes. However, Vanessa was worried that James, Meg, John and the returning houseguest could all work together. Vanessa asked if John is cool with her now. Austin said that John still wants her out. Liz said that he hasn’t really said it this week. Austin said that John was totally fine going on the block. Austin threw out the idea of taking James out before he could win another endurance competition. Liz wanted to get John out, while Julia wanted to take James out. The plan is to talk to everyone tomorrow and see if anybody squeals on each other, before making a final decision.
Downstairs, Steve was talking to himself and said that something is up. He said that he may be getting evicted this week. He said that he needs to not freak out, cause that is the most important thing. He figured that everyone was being nice to him because they were worried that he could win another veto. Vanessa headed to bed. Austin told the twins that they now have Vanessa 100% as their fourth. He said that sending John out would still be the easiest move to make this week. He told Liz that James will have to go if he finds out anything fishy about him tomorrow. Liz thought that Steve was the one up to no good. She suggested that he was the one connected to James and Meg and that John had nothing to do with it. Austin discussed that taking out James would get Steve back on their side and would make John loyal, since he would see what a big move that was. He said that Meg would have no one and that Jackie would only have Meg to work with instead of having James as well. His concern with taking James out was that he could come right back. Austin said that he would need to get information on James before he could make a move against him.
