BB17 Day 72
August 28, 2015
9:00-10:00 AM: Austin admitted to John that he made a mistake, especially after hearing what the others had planned to do. Austin said that they need to do this together. John said that he is down. Vanessa then spoke to Austin about her nomination speech. She said that she is thinking of saying that she had to make a game move this week and it came down to where she would get the least blood on her hands. She pointed out that there are two duos and one trio. Since Meg isn’t a strong competitor, Vanessa figured that she could explain that going after James and Meg would be the easiest duo to go after.
10:00-11:00 AM: Vanessa told Austin that the reason that she likes keeping Meg in the game over James is that it gives them the option to put John or Steve on the block next to her as a pawn and accidentally send them home. Vanessa told Austin that James said that he would nominate two of Austin and the twins next week if he won HoH, since he is not afraid to get the blood on his hands. Vanessa said that James has no clue how close she is to Austin and the twins. Austin thought that it would be good even if John has to go on the block, since he will see that they are voting for him and they are good. Austin mentioned that it may even be better to nominate Steve if the veto is used, to make John feel even better. Vanessa said that that might be the right play. Vanessa felt that they would still need to split up James and Meg at that point. Austin wondered if James would use the veto on Meg if he won, thinking that they are still with him. Vanessa didn’t think that James could be that dumb. Vanessa told Austin that they had better win HoH to protect her next week. Austin figured that Meg would have no chance unless it’s questions, but even that would be tough for her to win.
11:00-12:00 PM: Vanessa continued to try to work on her nomination speech. She decided that she could say that James and Meg opportunistically went against her by saying that she did not tell Austin and the twins about the plan to have James throw the Battle of the Block, when she did that just to protect James. As for why she is not targeting John, Vanessa figured that it could be explained by pointing out that she would not have known about the plan to target her if not for John telling her. Austin and Liz discussed that James and Meg cried for each other and tried to get Vanessa to nominate them as the pawn over the other. Liz said that they are so stupid. Austin said that they are willing to say whatever to whoever. Austin mentioned that the best person to have come back was John, since he was able to jump right back into the fold with them. He pointed out that they still have the card that they did not go after James and Meg, so they could tell Meg that they still want to work with her if James does end up going.
12:00-1:00 PM: Austin and Vanessa spoke in the HoH room, mainly about Vanessa’s upcoming nomination speech. Austin asked if she wants James and Meg to know that the move is a direct attack on them or if she is trying to say that there is a backdoor plan in place. Vanessa felt that there was no need to pretend that there is a backdoor, since it’s going to be obvious what she is doing when James and Meg are nominated together. Austin figured that James and Meg would then be banking on one of them to win the veto and on he and the twins to flip the vote to evict the replacement nominee. However, he said that they have all of ammunition that they need to vote one of them out, since James told Vanessa that he would nominate them if he wins next week.
2:00-3:00 PM: Vanessa was informed that she needed to choose four have-nots for the week. It was revealed that this would be the final week of have-nots for the season. John volunteered. Vanessa then chose James and Meg, at which point Julia volunteered as well. In addition to slop, the have-nots will be able to eat gumdrops. Austin had earlier discussed with Vanessa that she could say that he made a deal with Vanessa that she could not make him or his girlfriend have-nots. Meg heard of the deal and told James that there is no way that the deal did not include them not going on the block as well. She said that she will be pissed if they end up on the block now. Meg said that she is over them and cannot wait to win HoH and put them all on the block. Meg said that she has a feeling that this week is going to be horrible. James recalled that Vanessa had made a deal with him a few weeks back, saying that he would get safety for him and one other person in exchange for him not nominating her when he was HoH. James said that he had forgotten all about the deal. James didn’t know if it was best to bring up the deal or not, cause Vanessa may be upset if he makes it seem as though they don’t trust her, especially if she is planning to nominate John and Steve already. James said that he could use that deal for ammo next time, saying that she broke it. Meg thought that that was the best route to go with it. Last night, Vanessa brought up the deal in talks with her alliance. She said that she did not expect her next HoH win to be so many weeks later, more or less implying that she did not care to stick to the deal since there are so few options left. Meg said that at least they are less likely to be nominated next week if they are pawns this week. James said that they need to make it through this week and then one of them needs to win HoH.
3:00-4:00 PM: The nomination ceremony took place. Vanessa nominated James and Meg for eviction. When feeds returned, she was explaining to James that he could have told her about the rumours that were going around about her in the past couple of weeks, so that she could have tried to clear things up. She said that he didn’t and instead tried to capitalize on it to position himself better. Vanessa said that she probably would have done the same but it is now her time to make a move. She said that she has no specific target in mind and wishes both he and Meg the best of luck in the veto competition. Meg told James that Vanessa can have fun trying to get to the Final 2 with Austin and the twins. Meg said that Vanessa is not going to win. James said that Vanessa claims to have an explanation for everything. Meg said that she doesn’t really care, since she hasn’t done anything to Vanessa. James questioned if Vanessa realizes that Austin was trying to let John take her out. James figured that Vanessa may have been fishing for information with them last night and then it got back to Austin that they said that they would nominate him and the twins. Meg told James that one of them has got to win the PoV. James thought that John would probably go on the block if so. Meg said that one of them is still probably going home either way, though she has a better chance of staying than James does.
4:00-5:00 PM: Vanessa came to speak to James and Meg. She said that the root of all the issues that Austin and the twins had with her was that Becky told them that she knew about James throwing the BoB. Vanessa said that James knew that they had found that out but did not tell her and give her a chance to explain herself. She specifically felt that James knew that and withheld the information to take advantage of it. James said that he believed that Vanessa was the one to tell Austin that information, so he had no reason to run to her with it if so. As for Meg, Vanessa said that she did believe that Meg went to John and told him to go tell Liz anything information that he has on Vanessa. Vanessa explained that she is at the bottom of all of the alliances and this was the move that would get the least amount of blood on her hands while still disrupting the power structure in the house. James said that they should have opened their mouths more. Meg said that they did not want to tattle tale and she was never targeting Vanessa. Vanessa brought up that she also heard that Meg was laughing at her for thinking that the Brass Tacks was real. Meg begun crying and said that it’s not okay for someone to make something up like that, cause she doesn’t do personal things like that. After Vanessa left, James asked Meg if she thinks that Vanessa came up with that all on her own or if Austin and the others were involved. Meg did not think that it was all Vanessa, which made her more upset. Both James and Meg said that they would not have nominated Vanessa if they had won HoH this week. Meg told James that he has to win the PoV, since that will give them the best shot at both staying this week. James wasn’t so sure that there was much hope at all, since he figured that John and Steve would vote how Vanessa wanted in exchange for being kept off of the block. Meg said that they would need one of those two to go up in their place. James pointed out that Vanessa had such petty reasons for nominating them. James said that there is no way that Vanessa will win the game when she is with the Austin, Liz and Julia trio. Meg hoped that John or Steve would win. They both agreed that John has played a hard game.
6:00-7:00 PM: Meg told James that she thinks that she is going to be the one that goes. Meg figured that Vanessa would want to keep James to work with her. She said that James is Vanessa’s only shot at breaking up the others. James pointed out that Vanessa would need the votes of those that she wants him to help break up if that’s the case. Meg said that it’s just how she feels and she believes that Vanessa knows that James will never work with her as long as she is still in the game. Meg questioned how else Vanessa will beat out the others. James said with John and Steve. Meg said that there is no physical competitor there. James said that John is, though Meg felt that Vanessa did not see him that way. Meg told James that he had better not give Vanessa what she wants if she leaves. James said that Vanessa has got to go. Meg suggested nominating Liz and Vanessa. James told her that he was actually thinking that as well.
8:00-9:00 PM: Meg sat down with Austin and the twins to clear some things up. She said that she does not want things to be weird between them. Meg said that she feels a little played but she gets it game wise. Austin said that they do too, cause Vanessa did not tell them what she was doing until afterwards. Austin said that Vanessa told them that James and Meg said that they would nominate them next week and that it would not be one but two of them. Meg said 100% absolutely not. She explained that both of them had offered to be pawns. Austin and the twins said that they wanted John out. Meg told them that Vanessa said they would have to nominate one of Austin, Liz or Julia as a pawn next week, which they agreed with. Meg said that James will be livid when he hears what they were told. Liz said that she hopes that Meg doesn’t feel played by them, cause she was not put on her block. Meg said that Vanessa put the smallest things together that have been said over the past week. Julia said that they wanted John out but Vanessa said that she wanted to do what is best for her game. Meg said that it’s funny cause James said that Vanessa would likely use the fact that they said that they would put one of them up against them. Meg again clarified that there was never talk about putting two of them up. Austin said that he is glad that Meg talked to them, cause he felt some animosity towards them. Liz said that Vanessa was likely just looking for reasons to explain the move and it was more of a strategic play on her part. Meg went to James and told him that Austin and the twins wanted John to go up and thought that’s who it would be. Meg then said that Vanessa told them that James said that he would put the twins on the block since he had blood on his hands before and isn’t afraid to do it again. Meg said that they are cool and fine. Steve was alone in the purple room and spoke to the camera. He said that he is a believer in the strategy of going for HoH wins in Final 6, 4 and 3. He said that Final 7 is a weird one to win. However, if he does win, he said that he would want to keep Julia but he would nominate Austin and Liz.
9:00-10:00 PM: Austin pointed out to Vanessa that James is clinging to John now. Austin wondered if James has already given up on Meg. Vanessa said that James and John being close is another reason for James to go, cause that is too strong. Austin agreed and said that based on their conversation with Meg, Meg is more likely to gravitate towards himself and the twins if James is gone. Vanessa said that she is fine with Meg winning as long as she does not nominate her next to Austin or the twins. Vanessa said that Steve would have to go if she is nominated next to him.
10:00-11:00 PM: James and Meg discussed the upcoming veto competition. James told Meg that it would be best to choose Julia if they get houseguest’s choice, since she is weak. James said that he plans to scare everyone, especially Vanessa, if he wins the PoV. He said that he would run around going crazy, saying that people didn’t see this one coming and that they better hope that he does not win HoH. James said that Vanessa likes chaos and drama. He joked that he should go pick a fight since Steve got into a fight with Vanessa and yet he is still there. Meg said that nominations will be staying the same unless one of them wins the veto. James wondered what would happen if he won the veto and used it on Meg. Meg told him that he cannot do that. She figured that she has the better chance to stay if she is on the block. Meg pointed out that Austin and the twins would likely want John out over her if they are nominated together. James said that he would be a little bit salty if Austin, Liz or Vanessa won the game. James said that Vanessa has done a lot of people dirty and he does not think that anybody is going to vote for Vanessa.
12:00-1:00 AM: Vanessa asked Steve why John hasn’t been hanging out with them tonight. Steve said that he went to bed early and is likely struggling with living in a house with people that just voted him out. Vanessa asked if John wants to leave. Steve said no and that he would not have won if that were the case. Though Vanessa said that she does not care who leaves between James and Meg, she brought up that James winning the veto would be a terrible situation. She explained that she could not ensure that the replacement nominee would have the votes to stay over Meg. Vanessa asked Steve what the best move is if James wins the veto. Steve told her that he does not want to think about that until after the veto competition happens, though he said that it is possible that James would use the veto on Meg. Vanessa said that it would feel evil to trick James into doing that and then vote him out. Based on their talk, Steve said that it sounds like Vanessa might pawn him. Vanessa said that it is very unlikely. Steve asked Vanessa if she trusts that Austin, Liz and Julia would take them to Final 5. Vanessa said that she does. Steve asked if those three would target John next week instead of James or Meg. Vanessa figured that they would nominate both and John would probably go. Vanessa said that she cannot take the first shot at Austin, Liz and Julia, because she will then have pissed off everyone in the house. She said that Steve can make that move if he wants but it would be dumb for her to do so. Vanessa mentioned that James staying would be beneficial in terms of giving them another strong competitor on their side with John, if he would actually be on their side. Steve asked if she is suggesting a Final 4 with James. Vanessa said that she doesn’t even know what to hope for at this point. Steve asked Vanessa for her thoughts on the Final 5. She said that it was a lot more appealing back when Austin and Liz were not a showmance. Vanessa said that there is a play for them to make the Final 4 more appealing, though they would have to win the Final 5 HoH. Before going to the diary room, Steve was asked to give his thoughts on the Final 5.
