BB17 Day 90 - Vanessa wins the Power of Veto

September 15, 2015

6:00-7:00 PM: The surprise eviction episode aired. Liz voted to evict Steve, while John voted to evict Austin. Vanessa then cast the tie breaking vote, sending Austin to the jury house. Steve went on to become the new Head of Household.

9:00-10:00 PM: The live feeds returned following the west coast airing of the surprise eviction episode. We found out that Steve had nominated John and Vanessa for eviction. Vanessa then won the Power of Veto, giving her the power to cast the sole vote to evict tomorrow. Either John or Liz will be evicted.

10:00-11:00 PM: Steve asked Vanessa if she knows what she is doing. Vanessa said no but she is not stressing about it. She said that she is letting John and Liz do their campaigning, though they have not done as much as you would think. Steve said that he is sure that they are offering her Final 2. Vanessa said that they will but it doesn’t mean that she believes it. Steve told Vanessa that he knows that he has been a bit sketchy of late and she thinks that he threw the HoH competition due to his tiebreaker guess, but he did not. As a means of trying to reestablish trust, Steve told her that he tried to throw “Getting Loopy” but won anyway because he was correct by accident. He suggested that that shows that he throws some competitions but he did not in this case. Vanessa asked Steve if he has any thought on who should be kept. Steve said that he is going back and forth on it. Vanessa said that she is as well. Vanessa figured that John would be tougher to beat in the HoH competition but easier to beat in the Final 2. She mentioned that John may not try so hard if he thinks that they would both take him to the end, which is believable.

Vanessa told Steve that he would be dumb to take Liz over her, while she would be dumb to take Liz over him. Vanessa pointed out that Liz has two jury votes locked up, which is nearly insurmountable. Steve said that he likes that keeping Liz around ensures that the two of them will take each other to the end. Vanessa agreed and said that she likes that as well, since it would be so tempting to take someone like John to the end because he cannot win. Vanessa told Steve that she knows that she is a favourite to get second place, but she is okay with that and would prefer to get second place next to Steve. Vanessa said that Steve deserves it and it would be a good start to his life, so she would be happy for him. Vanessa explained to Steve that John was going to vote the other way, evicting Steve over Austin. She said that it was 100% her move in getting John to switch his vote. Vanessa brought up that she had told Steve all along that he would be safe and she made it happen. Vanessa was eventually called to the diary room, where Liz had been. Liz told Steve that her only hope is that she knows her fate and doesn’t have to walk out in the same manner that Austin did. She asked Steve if there is hope for her. Steve said that he does not know and that he is not the one casting the vote.

11:00-12:00 AM: Steve spoke to himself up in the HoH room. He said that if he is the Final 3 with John and Vanessa, his fear is that Vanessa would undercut him and take John. He said that his worst case scenario would then be Vanessa winning HoH for that reason. Steve figured that he will either have Liz not taking him if she stays or Vanessa not taking him if John stays. Steve wondered if he should take Liz to the Final 2 if he wins HoH. He said that he really hight do it. Steve pointed out that he would be golden if John beat Vanessa in the endurance competition and then he beat her in the second part. He expects that John would take him to the end over Vanessa. However, Steve thinks that Vanessa is going to evict John no matter what he says or does, since she is nervous about him taking John over her, which he would.

12:00-1:00 AM: Steve apologized to his mom, saying that he made a $500,000 mistake today and let her down. He said that he should have won the PoV, used it on John and then John would have sent Vanessa home. Steve said that Vanessa will now take Liz over John. Steve went up to his HoH room to get his teddy bear and cry. He said that he could have won the game today if he won the veto and sent Vanessa out, yet now he cannot beat her at the end. Steve begun crying and saying that his big move could have been getting Vanessa out, like he wanted to this morning, but he chickened out. Steve apologized to his mom and said that he should not have thrown the veto competition. Steve said that John was his easiest win and now he is going to lose him. He pointed out that one advantage to John leaving is that he can campaign for him in the jury house. Steve said that he may have to take his chances with Vanessa over Liz, since she will not have Becky or Jackie’s votes. Steve eventually said that he needs a friend and a hug. He headed downstairs and got a hug from Liz, who was in bed. Steve told Liz that they will not win the endurance competition tomorrow. Liz said that it is written all over Steve’s face that something is wrong. Vanessa eventually came out and told Steve that he is being paranoid and that everyone wants to sleep and nobody is talking game. She told him to come sleep downstairs if he wants, which Steve decided to do.
