Big Brother 18 Day 61 - Victor shuts down Paulie's campaign
August 14, 2016
11:00-12:00 PM: Paulie told Corey that Michelle told him that she would vote Natalie out. He asked Corey to keep that to himself because it was said during a one on one conversation. Paulie asked Corey to think of some things that he can say to Victor in attempt to get him to use the veto. Paulie mentioned saying that Natalie would be a pawn and nobody would vote her out, but he wants the chance to play the game because he will not campaign if Corey stays on the block. Paulie thought that James may still like Corey enough to talk to Victor for him if he says he would like to come off of the block so that Paulie can campaign. Out in the backyard, Michelle told James that she thinks Paulie is going to try to get revenge by getting her put on the block. Michelle said it seems like he is up to something. Victor overheard the conversation and joined in. He said Paulie will stay on the block and will get voted out. He told Michelle not to get wishy washy on him. Michelle said she will be voting Paulie out. Victor asked Michelle what she thinks Paulie is up to. Michelle said he will try to convince him to use the veto. Victor said he already tried. Michelle asked if Paulie is trying to get her on the block. Victor said that he didn’t specifically mention her, only saying that he wouldn’t campaign against one of his boys. Victor said he put those two on the block together and he is sticking to his guns on this one.
12:00-1:00 PM: Paulie told Victor that he loves the boys as homies but he is done with the game. He said he has already checked himself out. Paulie said he would be checked out even if he returns to the game. Paulie went on to say that he will not be staying in the jury house. Paulie didn’t want to be nominated next to Corey. He asked Victor to consider using the veto on Corey. Victor said he heard him out and will keep it in mind, though he will not promise anything. Victor said he has got to do what is best for his game. Paulie said he is going home either way and Victor is getting what he wanted. Victor said the more he changes things, the more he leaves the opportunity open for something to happen. Victor pointed out that Nicole would never vote for Corey to leave, so he has her vote locked in with Paulie on the block. Paulie mentioned that the guys had something. Victor said Paulie decided to make extended alliances before they got down to the five. Paulie said he can’t turn something down that someone wants badly. Paulie said he is going home either way. Victor asked why he wouldn’t take the easiest road then, leaving nominations the same. Paulie pleaded with Victor not to leave him up next to his boy. Paulie asked what the difference is between a 3-2 vote and a 4-1 vote. Victor said it’s a chance that he does not want to take. Victor said if Paulie happens to come back with the round trip, that means he had to open an envelope as opposed to having to win three competitions like he did. Victor added that he didn’t even get a chance to play in the veto competition, so how many chances does Paulie want from him. Paulie said he understands where Victor is coming from. Victor told him not to keep asking the same thing over and over again then. Victor explained that it is not in his best interest to use the veto. Victor said it would not make sense for him to nominate Michelle or Natalie as a pawn. He figured that the fans would be looking at him and telling him not to be an idiot right now. Victor said things ended up playing out in his favour. Paulie said that is the odds of a crapshoot. Victor told Paulie to stop taking away from his win by calling it a crapshoot. Victor asked what the difference is between being up next to Corey or someone else if he is going home anyway. Paulie said he doesn’t want to lay down and do nothing. Victor said Paulie doesn’t have to campaign against Corey but he also doesn’t have to do it in a negative manner if he chooses to do so. Victor said he is setup perfectly this week. Paulie said he understand. Victor asked what they are still talking about then. Paulie said he is going home no matter what. Victor told him to accept the fact already and stop trying to change things. Paulie said it’s just a matter of preference in terms of not wanting to be sitting next to his friend. Victor said the preference is dictated by him since he won the competitions. Victor told Paulie that he screwed him over before and now he is getting his revenge. Victor said the fewer conversations they have like this, the better things will be from now until Thursday. Victor said he doesn’t know what else to say. Paulie and Victor hugged it out and ended the conversation. Paulie told Corey that was his last ditch effort. Corey said Paulie is pretty set and the two of them will be on the block together come Thursday. Up in the HoH room, Paul looked to the camera and said he is tired of having those conversations with Paulie. Victor said he is not giving Paulie another chance, so Paulie should stop asking him. Back outside, Paulie spoke to Natalie. He gave her a hug and said it was nothing personal. He explained that he tried to get Natalie or Michelle on the block so that he didn’t have to be up next to his boy.
1:00-2:00 PM: Paulie spoke to Paul about how Victor has the chance to win out for the rest of the season. He told Paul that he may be the only one that has a chance against him. Paulie explained that he would rather keep his relationship with Corey than campaign against him this week. Paulie then spoke to James, telling him that he tried to get Natalie or Michelle nominated so that he wouldn’t have to campaign against Corey. Paulie said it will be tough to beat Victor but he thinks that James will be able to if he sticks with Corey. Paulie suggested that Corey would stay 100% loyal to James. Paulie said he has checked out at this point. James said he would have expect the guys to campaign even if they were nominated next to him. Paulie said he has realized that he is not what’s best for everybody’s game. He thought his one point is that he is strong in competitions and he can be used to go against Victor. Paulie admitted that he is having an internal battle about how to deal with the campaigning situation. James said people are pretty much dead set on voting him out this week. He explained that people see Paulie as someone who can win competitions, while they don’t necessarily see Corey in the same way. James brought up how Derrick told him not to win competitions unless he had to. Paulie said he didn’t listen to that advice. Paulie said James could make deals with Paul and Victor but he knows that he is a target of theirs already. Paulie told James he will not last long in the jury house because he doesn’t like being in closed in spaces. James told him that the jury house is pretty big, bigger than the house. Paulie said it’s more about the mindset. He talked about sticking it out for two weeks before leaving because he doesn’t like being locked in and he is claustrophobic. James told Paulie that Cody and Derrick would want him to stick around and ride it out. Paulie said he knows that but he has always done things his own way.
3:00-4:00 PM: James told Nicole he thinks that Victor would have let Corey keep the veto had Paulie not taken it from him. Nicole said Victor said he would have. Nicole said it was selfish of Paulie to take the veto from Corey. Corey joined them. James said Paulie has been telling him that he will not be going to jury. Corey said it’s selfish and he is seeing a whole different side of Paulie. James said he lost a lot of respect for Paulie when he took the veto away from Corey. James said Paulie would have had a fighting chance had Corey won the veto. Corey said Paulie thinks he has a chance at getting Victor to use the veto. He wondered if Paulie listened to the same conversation that he did. James said he think that Paulie will try to leave after the veto is not used. Corey said that would screw him over since he would likely ending up being evicted this week too. James headed inside and spoke to Natalie and Paul. James told Paul that Paulie is saying he is the only one that can take Victor out. Paul said Paulie told him that he is the only one. James let Paul know that Paulie has been trying to set it up to have him take a shot at Paul and Victor. Paul asked if he can tell Victor the information. James said yeah.
4:00-5:00 PM: Paul headed up to the HoH room to talk to Victor. Paul said Paulie’s pitch to him is that Victor is a comp beast and he will never be able to beat him. Paul said Paulie then went to James and said no one can beat Victor except for him, so he needs to keep him in or else Paul and Victor will take a shot at James next. Paul said James told him all of this, meaning that James isn’t believing it. Victor told Paul to keep James thinking that it’s a free for all once they get to the Final 4. Paul said James knows that. Paul said the one thing that cannot happen is Nicole or Corey winning HoH next week. Victor said one of them needs to go next week and the other needs to go the week after. Once they get to five, Victor said they need to remind James and Natalie that they said they are going Final 4 together. Paul said he wouldn’t even bother since he would take a shot at that point. In the bedroom, Nicole told Corey she thinks the only thing that convinced James to flip is the fake boobs comment that Paulie made. Corey said more happened that Nicole didn’t see. Corey explained that James told Paulie he needs to chill out because he was scaring people. Corey said it was scary. Corey told Nicole that Paulie’s behaviour was overly aggressive and he would have been scared if he were a girl. Nicole said she likely would have felt differently about everything had she seen it all, seeing as all she saw was that James was fine with blindsiding them minutes before the vote. Corey argued that James wouldn’t have done it had Paulie kept his mouth shut. Corey thought James didn’t decide to vote the other way until the last minute when he told them what he was doing. Nicole said she feels bad if that’s the case. Nicole said James should still have their backs if it was Paulie, not James, who blew up their games. Both agreed that James would not nominate them. Corey said everyone should be going after the strongest couple which is Victor and Paul.
5:00-6:00 PM: James told Natalie that if either of them or Paul wins HoH next week, they can nominate Corey and Nicole and call it a day. Natalie asked if James thinks that Nicole would nominate them. James didn’t think so. He said Nicole is an emotional player and he will be able to talk Nicole out of nominating them if she wins. James said he will not throw Paul and Victor under the bus but he will beg for his life and for Natalie’s life.
6:00-7:00 PM: While Paulie was sleeping, Big Brother called him to the diary room. James and Paul went to him and said that he was called. He was then called a second time. Paulie still continued to sleep. After the third time being called, Paulie got up and headed to the diary room.
7:00-8:00 PM: Paulie returned from the diary room and had to begin his punishment from yesterday’s veto competition. Paulie has to bake apple pies for the rest of the summer whenever he is instructed to do so. Paulie baked his first pie. He also had to set a time and wave a small flag for 40 minutes while his pie was baking. While it was happening Paulie got emotional while talking about his ex-girlfriend. He explained that part of him wants to leave and get on a flight to go home and be with his support system.
8:00-9:00 PM: Paulie was instructed to bake another pie. He refused to do so and continued to run in the backyard. He was also called to the diary room and did not go. Feeds eventually went down. We later found out that he was talked to over the speakers and told to go to the diary room. Michelle said Paulie had asked if it could wait until after he finished working out, but they told him they would get him out of the diary room as as soon as possible so that he could continue. When feeds returned, Corey was having a talk with Paulie. Corey told Paulie to kill others with kindness because it will only make him look better. Corey said Paulie has no reason not to be happy. He said Paulie will kill it in the real world. Corey encouraged Paulie not to let this game defeat him when he signed up for it and these kind of things happen all the time. Corey told Paulie that he was the best player and of course someone was going to try to do this to him. Corey said they had the perfect plan to win the game and people were not going to let it happen once they realized that. Corey told Paulie to make the best of the situation since there are people in much worse situations than they are in. Paulie said Corey is right. Corey told Paulie he loves him. Paulie said he loves Corey too. Corey told Paulie to brush it off and start doing better. Paulie said he will do it for Corey. Paulie said it’s a pride issue since he knew that they were untouchable until what just happened.
9:00-10:00 PM: Paulie told Nicole and Michelle that Victor didn’t go for his plan of nominating Natalie. Paulie said he may make a deal with Victor that he will not put him up in exchange for Victor nominating James this week. Paulie said he isn’t sure how close James and Victor have become of late. Michelle encouraged Paulie to try, asking what the worst it can do is. Paulie said nothing. Paulie said James threw him under the bus hard and betrayed him, so he is willing to campaign against him. Paulie thought that Paul would be the only one capable of convincing Victor to nominate James. Michelle pointed out that it’s Sunday night and time is running out. Paulie said he will talk to Victor tonight. Michelle asked if Paulie got in trouble in the diary room. Paulie told her that they said he made it seem like he would be a good sport about the pie making punishment. Paulie claimed to have told them that he wouldn’t be but that he would do it for them in order to give them shots for TV. Nicole told Michelle she doesn’t feel good about what the boys are doing. Michelle asked if things are weird between Corey and Nicole. Nicole said no but they are game wise. Nicole said she is afraid to ask if the plan is still to pick the girls off.
10:00-11:00 PM: Paulie spoke to Victor and said that he is playing because he is trying to fight for his aunt who is dying of cancer. He said he hates the idea of being locked in the jury house for five weeks. Paulie said he can handle four weeks or maybe three. Paulie said Victor knows who betrayed him and who he is upset with. Paulie suggested that people would vote James out if he goes on the block next to him. Paulie swore on his aunt that he would not nominate Paul or Victor if he stays and wins HoH this week. He said they can send him out the following week or this week if they want to, as that would bring him a week closer to the end and make jury more manageable. Paulie said he is putting it on a family member’s life. Victor said fair enough. He told Pauile that he will keep it in mind and that’s all that he can promise him.
11:00-12:00 AM: Victor and Paul spoke about Paulie’s latest pitch. Paul was upset about Paulie bringing his aunt into it. Victor said Paulie shouldn’t be putting that on him when he has his own problems. Paul mentioned Paulie not being happy about Natalie bringing her student loans into it, then he goes and brings his aunt into it. The guys headed downstairs to fill in James and Natalie on what has been going on. While Victor spoke to James, Paul spoke to Natalie in the other room. Paul then spoke to Corey and Nicole about what Paulie has been saying. Paul said it’s in Paulie’s best interest to go home at his point, because he is just making himself look bad.
