Big Brother 18 Day 62 - Victor decides not to use the Power of Veto

August 15, 2016

9:00-10:00 AM: Paulie spoke to Paul about how he is not lying about what he said last night. He said he made his points and swore on his aunt who is dying of cancer. Paulie explained that it showed he is serious about what he said because he will not disrespect that for a game. Paulie told Paul it’s a win-win situation if he stays, given that they are safe if he wins and he will go back up on the block if he loses. Paul asked who would nominate Paulie again. Paulie said he will tell whoever wins to put him back up because he is that over it and because he made a deal. Paulie claimed that he wants one more week in the house so that he will be closer to the end and more capable of sticking it out in the jury house. He said he wants to be able to vote at the end and play the game the right way.

10:00-11:00 AM: Paulie continued to speak with Paul, telling him that the best case scenario would be him winning HoH next week because it would buy Paul and Victor two weeks of safety. He said he would like to restore something with them on a game level. Paul said he likes that Paulie said game wise, since this stuff doesn’t affect anything else that they had. Paulie said he brought a family member into it because he broke Paul and Victor’s trust and he wants to get the chance to build some back up by staying and keeping his word. He mentioned that Paul and Victor could take Natalie as far as they want it James is gone too, which he is hoping would be the case if Victor uses the veto. Paulie said he would not try to win the veto if he wins HoH and is then nominated the following week. Paulie again said that he would not be going to the jury house if he is evicted this week, opting instead to go back home to New Jersey. He admitted that he is not looking forward to the people who are in jury. However, he said that he doesn’t want to mess up someone’s game who may deserve to win by leaving his jury vote in the hands of America and making it a popularity contest. He brought up that some winners have been hated by America, such as Evel Dick, so he would not want to give them a vote. He also mentioned that Dan would have beat Ian had it been up to America. Paulie said he will indirectly mention it in his speech that he will stick to what he said he would.

11:00-12:00 PM: At the veto ceremony, Victor decided not to use the Power of Veto. Corey and Paulie remain nominated. One of them will be evicted on Thursday. Paul told James it’s funny how Corey and Nicole were trying to cover their tracks by saying that they were not in on the plan to get James out. Paul figured that they would have jumped on board had he and Victor been willing to do it. James agreed. Paul mentioned that they could call Corey and Nicole out in order to rattle them a bit. He asked James if they should make them uncomfortable heading into the next HoH competition. James said he thinks that they are going to have to since those two will nominate them either way. James think that Nicole will crack under pressure if she gets rattled. Victor joined them. Paul mentioned going to Corey and Nicole to tell them “you are next”. Victor thought it may cause unnecessary tension.

12:00-1:00 PM: Natalie joined James, Paul and Victor in the bedroom. Paul suggested that rather than directly telling Corey and Nicole they are next, they could bring Paulie in for meetings in order to get Corey and Nicole paranoid and make them less comfortable. Natalie said she wants Corey to get a little scared. Paul said they need to create paranoia in order to shake those two up heading into eviction night so that they don’t know who is staying. Paulie told the group to give Paulie a bit of hope and give Corey no solid answer with regards to which way they will be voting, though the three voters agreed that they will in fact vote Paulie out. Paul then went to Michelle to fill her in on the plan. He told her that she can tell Paulie she would prefer to keep him if she wants to. Michelle said it is a genius plan. Paul then headed to speak with Paulie, who told him that this was a personal move since two weeks of safety would have been good from a strategic point of view. Paul asked if Paulie is convinced that everyone wants him gone. Paulie said yeah. Paul said there are still a few days left, implying that things could change. Paulie said he will not campaign when his fate is inevitable. James told Paulie that he can campaign in a positive way, not throwing Corey under the bus, because some people may want to keep him there. Paulie asked if they are hinting at something. Paul said he needs to weigh out his options. Paulie told the guys that if people want to keep him around to help do their dirty week before he decides to leave himself open to get picked out, that’s up to them but he wont campaign. Paulie continued to speak to Paul about the situation. He discussed the moral dilemma that he is faced with. He did not want people to turn into something similar to what happened between Frank and Bridgette when people told Bridgette that Frank was campaigning. Paulie said he feels that anyone else in the house would have taken the deal that he offered to Victor. Paulie claimed that he would have campaigned to go up on the block if he didn’t win the next HoH. Paul continued to suggest that it may be worth trying even if it’s just for Paulie’s sanity so that he doesn’t look back on it and regret not trying. However, he told him to stop thinking about it and not drive himself crazy if he finds himself thinking about it too much.

1:00-2:00 PM: Paulie told Corey that Paul wants them to campaign rather than roll over and die. Paulie said Paul suggested that they campaign for themselves. Corey told Paulie to do what he has got to do. Corey said it wont bother him if Paulie campaigns for himself. Paulie said no because it really wont change the end result. Paulie told Corey and Nicole that he fears if he were to go back on what he said and campaign, people would gang up on him again and try to call him out. Paulie said he would lose it at that point and probably crack a couple of the guys in the face. Nicole said no. Paulie said he would. Paulie said people cannot try to do that to him and think they are safe just because there are cameras around. Nicole told Paulie that he cannot punch someone in the face. Paulie said he knows he can’t but he would if people did that to him. Elsewhere, Paul told James and Natalie that Paulie mentioned James or Michelle told him that the confrontation before the veto competition was planned. James said it wasn’t him. Paul said it was then Michelle. Paul said he is worried about next week if Michelle wins HoH and she is acting weird. Natalie said Paul needs to tell Michelle that she cannot give that side any information. Paul said he will tell her that those people throw her under the bus every day and she needs to stop giving up information to them or she will piss the people off that are actually working with her.

3:00-4:00 PM: Natalie told James that if Nicole really had his back she would have came to him and told him that Paulie wants him out and is plotting against him. James said he will mention to Nicole that he doesn’t believe she never heard his name come up if he wins HoH and nominates her next to Corey. James said Nicole has not come to him to tell him about anyone bringing up his name. James mentioned that he would call Corey and Nicole a Clay and Shelli because they were playing all sides of the house. Natalie agreed and said they were doing so early on even when Frank was still there. Natalie said the fact that Nicole continuously has to go tell people how good of a guy Corey is is raising red a flag in her mind. Paulie joined them. Natalie asked who he would nominate if he were to win HoH. Paulie said he would do whatever the group as a whole wanted, talking to each person in order to get their input. He filled James and Natalie in on the offer that he made to Victor last night, saying he would protect him if he stayed and won or would sacrifice himself if he stayed and lost. Natalie asked why Paulie would save himself this week only to give up next week. Paulie explained that he would not have went back on the deal after he brought a family member into it. Natalie asked if the deal is that Paulie will protect Victor. Paulie said it was the deal he proposed but Victor turned it down. Paulie mentioned he is willing to make that deal but he doesn’t want to campaign against Corey. Natalie looked for clarification, asking if he would give up his game and play for other people. Paulie said that he would. Natalie told Paulie that it’s good for her game if Paulie stays if he is not after her. He said he doesn’t think that the majority would want her out, so that would be a safe bet. Natalie said she definitely needs to see where Corey’s head is at but he doesn’t talk to her. Paulie circled back to talking about how he doesn’t want to campaign especially if his fate is sealed. Natalie told Paulie it’s his game, he got himself in there, and she wouldn’t give up if she were him. Natalie said everyone has the same right to be in the house.

4:00-5:00 PM: Victor came out of the diary room and told the houseguests that he has an announcement. The live feeds then went down. When feeds returned, Paul said he is stoked for food and carnival games. He mentioned a “special episode”, likely in reference to Friday’s episode. Many of the houseguests were talking about Ziggy Marley, making it seem as though there would be a performance in the backyard as well. Victor said there will be “prizes and perks” available.

8:00-9:00 PM: Feeds returned following the party. The feeds were blocked quite frequently when the houseguests would discussed what took place in the backyard. Mr. Pectacular, Jessie, made another appearance. In the bedroom, Paulie looked to James for advice as to whether or not he should campaign. James said Paulie should not just roll over and die. James said it’s a game and if Paulie wants to campaign in a positive light, he thinks that Corey will respect it. Paulie said that James pointing out that it is a game is what he was looking for. Paulie told James and Natalie that he will likely talk to them if he decides to campaign. James said he is just trying to look out for what’s best for his game and for Natalie’s game. Paulie said he would never screw them over and he would do whatever they wanted him to do if they were to keep him. Paulie said he would leave before them if they were in danger. He explained that he knows how to cause a ruckus in order to get nominated and evicted if needed. James said Natalie is the shot caller in the relationship, so he is good with whatever she wants. Paulie said he doesn’t need an answer right now.

9:00-10:00 PM: Corey told Nicole that he is hoping Paulie has the round trip ticket because he believes that a juror will be returning if not. Nicole said she is dead if Da’Vonne or Bridgette return. Nicole mentioned that they are going to need this advantage in the HoH competition this week. There were other talks of an advantage being won, though talks were often cut off by production. It is likely that it was a prize won during the party. Nicole told Corey that they will need all the help that they can get since it’s the two of them against the rest of the house. Nicole said she thinks that Michelle needs to go. She explained to Corey that the two of them are a pair, James and Natalie are a pair and then Paul, Victor and Michelle are a strong trio.

11:00-12:00 AM: While most of the houseguests were in bed, Corey, Nicole and Paulie chatted in the kitchen. Paulie brought up how he is going to go home by a unanimous vote of 5-0. Nicole said she didn’t get any sympathy votes when she got evicted. Nicole said they could give one to Paulie if he wants it. Paulie said he will see how things go. Paulie said Paul and Victor are treating him the same way that they did the first week when they thought that he was going home. Paulie told Corey and Nicole that they should target Paul before Victor because he is a manipulator. He compared Victor to Caleb. Paulie said he is observing that Paul, Victor and Michelle got really close. He said James and Natalie are also getting close with those two in a five but they remain on the outside of it. Paulie figured that Paul would nominate Corey and Nicole if he wins, followed by Victor nominating James and Natalie the next week if he wins. Paulie again suggested taking Paul out first. He told Corey and Nicole that Victor could be manipulated once Paul is gone. Paulie said Paul has been very good at playing all sides. He pointed out that Paul could easily have saved him if he wanted to. Paulie said Paul put all of the things on him that he had been saying, such as backdoor plans. Paulie suggested that Corey and Nicole’s only option is to go to James and Natalie to tell him that they are both next since they are the couples.

12:00-1:00 AM: Corey and Nicole discussed how James has been being different of late. Nicole said it was ever since he betrayed them. Corey thought that Victor made the move on his own since James said he thought that he would be going on the block. Paulie said he knows Paul was behind it 100%. Paulie said Paul would have went to Victor and told him that he was playing both sides. Paulie said he has seen how Paul works. Paulie mentioned that Michelle is in the middle right now, since people will likely go after Corey and Nicole or James and Natalie or Paul and Victor. Corey said he would like to see James win HoH. Nicole asked if he thinks that James would keep them safe. Corey said he would be stupid not to. Nicole said James would not be playing strategically if he nominates them.

3:00-4:00 AM: Nicole told Corey that Paul is paranoid all the time and he needs to take a chill pill. Nicole said Victor will go home if he is up next to Paul. Nicole said she does not want that if she wins HoH. Nicole said she wants Paul to go because he is smart and he is controlling Michelle and Victor. Nicole said there is no Michelle and Victor if Paul is gone. She also suggested that there is about to be a Paul and James duo. Nicole said Paul is really really good and he has got to go. Nicole told Corey that they are doomed if Paul wins because he would put them up 1000%. Corey said he knows. Nicole pointed out that Victor would use the veto on Paul so they have to be nominated together. Nicole said she would have to put the two big targets up next to each other even though there could be repercussions. Nicole thought she may have to put Michelle up if Paul or Victor win the veto. Corey said nominating Natalie would be better since he and James would vote to keep her. Corey told Nicole that he doesn’t know if Paul is that smart since he wouldn’t have put Da’Vonne up if so.
