Big Brother 18 Day 74 - Nicole wins the Power of Veto
August 27, 2016
8:00-9:00 AM: The have-not reveal took place. For being the first two remaining houseguests to drop out of the HoH competition, Corey and Victor were named the have-nots for the week. In addition to slop, they can enjoy seaweed and squid all week long. Corey, who received the BB Bribe care package yesterday, was curious if he could use his bribe in order to get someone to take his place as a have-not. This would be his fourth week as a have-not. Big Brother told him that they will get back to him.
9:00-10:00 AM: Players were picked for the veto competition. Nicole, Michelle, Paul, Corey, James and Victor will be competing. Paul used houseguest’s choice to pick Corey to play. Natalie said she expected that Paul would have chosen her since she is not strong in competitions. Paul said Natalie would have used the veto on Michelle. Natalie then spoke to Michelle about how it’s weird that Paul chose Corey to play. Natalie said it would be a terrible game move if Nicole wastes her HoH on Michelle. Michelle figures that Paul told Corey and Nicole that the three of them were after them. Natalie thought that they would backdoor James if anything. Michelle said Nicole would never do that. Natalie said that’s true because they love each other. James joined them. He said it is weird that Paul picked Corey. Michelle said she thinks that she is the target. Michelle told James and Natalie that the other four may be coming after the three of them. Michelle said Nicole is not the type of person to be fake and hang out with her target, implying that Paul being in the HoH room so often is a red flag. James said he will talk to Corey and Nicole after the veto competition in order to point out that Paul and Victor are bouncing around to those in power, just like they did with them last week.
10:00-11:00 AM: Corey told Nicole, Paul and Victor that he will bribe Michelle with the $5,000 not to use the veto if she wins it. Earlier, Michelle had told James and Natalie that she would consider taking that offer if it was made. She said it would be a nice parting gift if she does end up going. She mentioned that she is unlikely to get to the end at this point. James said that’s not true since she would only have to beat out three more people to get to the Final 2 if she survives this week. Up in the HoH room, Nicole reiterated that Victor winning the veto is the best case scenario is that Victor wins the veto so she is forced to nominate James or Natalie. That way, she wouldn’t have to explain herself and show her cards. Paul said he will throw the veto to Victor if it comes down to the two of them. James spoke to Natalie about how he sees the week playing out. He thinks that Nicole will either stick to the plan by targeting Paul or Victor, or she will try to backdoor him. He said the worst case scenario would be if Paul tells Corey and Nicole that they cannot be trusted since they were trying to get Corey and Nicole out last week. Natalie didn’t think that Corey and Nicole would believe that.
12:00-1:00 PM: Paul asked Victor if he feels good about Corey and Nicole. Victor said that he does. Victor said they trust them, he trusts them and Paul should trust them too. Paul mentioned that they have trusted a lot of people and been screwed. Victor said he doesn’t think that they have to worry with Corey and Nicole, because those two have never done them wrong. Paul said that is true, at least to their knowledge. Paul told Victor that he will throw the veto competition to him if it comes down to the two of them, so that they can both be safe. Paul pointed out that they are 26 days away from the finish line. Victor said he is surprised that he is still there. He said he has been shot twice but they patched him up and he is good. Paul said it’s the third time that they have to worry about. Victor told Paul that he wants to win the next HoH so that he can have the satisfaction of putting James and Natalie on the block. Furthermore, he wanted the satisfaction of sending James home after he sent him home, just like he did with Paulie.
4:00-5:00 PM: Feeds returned after the veto competition. Nicole won the Power of Veto. Up in the HoH room, Victor warned Corey and Nicole that Paul might start talking a lot because he is paranoid. However, Victor assured them that Paul trusts them. Nicole said they had better not screw them over on the double eviction. Victor swore that they wont. He told Nicole to relax. Downstairs, Michelle told James and Natalie she is so happy that Paul didn’t win the veto. James said he thinks that Victor is on board with getting Paul out. He suggested that they are all working together to get Paul out. James then said for all they know, Nicole could pull Paul down and backdoor him. Michelle said that wont happen. Back upstairs, Corey said he could always bribe Nicole on eviction night, offering her $5,000 to break the tie in order to vote Michelle out. After Victor left the room, Nicole told Corey that they could get Paul or Victor out since she holds all of the power this week. Nicole said she doesn’t want to do it though. Corey said he thought about it too. Nicole said Michelle will come after them if they keep her in the game, while James and Natalie would likely go after Paul and Victor if they both stay. Nicole thinks that her parents are screaming for her to get Paul or Victor out since they are the two strongest competitors. Corey said Nicole can beat them, just like she did this week. Nicole said she wants to move forward with Paul and Victor. Corey said they will be thankful after this week. Nicole let Corey know that she would prefer he holds on to the $5,000 for the HoH competition rather than giving it to her for a vote. Corey didn’t think that anyone would throw the competition in order to get $5,000. Nicole suggested that he could add safety on to the offer to make someone drop. Corey said he could offer safety without the $5,000. Nicole said he would be contractually obligated to keep his word if he did it along with the $5,000 though. Corey disagreed. He went to get the card with the rules on it. He still believed that he would not have to hold to his word once the $5,000 is transferred.
5:00-6:00 PM: Corey headed downstairs to explain the situation to the others. Multiple people said they would drop out for $5,000, even before Corey talked about the added condition of safety. James asked Michelle and Natalie if they would drop out of the next HoH competition for $5,000. Both girls said yes. James asked if they would still do it if it were a double eviction. Both said yes. Finally, he asked if they would still take it if they knew it would mean that they would go home. Once again, they said yes. Natalie told Michelle that she will not be going this week. Natalie believes that Nicole knows it would not be a smart move to leave such a big threat in the house. James brought up that Nicole knows Michelle would put her up in a heartbeat, but she thinks that Paul is a question mark and he could go either way. Michelle said she would be going after Victor before she would go after Nicole though. Natalie told Michelle to have a conversation with Nicole in order to let her know that she is not her target. Michelle asked James how sure he is that she is the target. James said it’s a toss up, because Paul and Victor have been hanging out in the HoH room so often. Michelle asked if she should talk to Corey and Nicole. James said yes. Not long after, James asked Nicole if she knows what she is going to do. She said that she is probably not going to use the veto. James mentioned wanting to come hang out upstairs. Nicole told him to. She said Paul and Victor keep coming up there just like they did last week.
6:00-7:00 PM: Paul spoke to Nicole. He told her that he will gladly remain on the block because he trusts her. However, he said that she could use the veto on him and then nominate Natalie. Paul said he and Victor could then not let anyone know which way they are voting all week. Paul thought that would lead to James, Michelle and Natalie all freaking out, which could be of benefit to them heading into the next HoH competition. Nicole said she doesn’t want to put anyone else up on the block, though she gets where Paul is coming from. Nicole said she would thinking it over but she is leaning towards leaving the nominations the same. She let Paul know that she feels bad because she is super loyal to him but she doesn’t want to show her cards just yet. She explained that they will be shown at the end of the week when she keeps him. Nicole reiterated that she is keeping both Paul and Victor safe this week. Nicole said she wants to work with the best and she thinks that the four of them are the best players. Nicole also said her gut, heart and head are all telling her to work with Paul and Victor. Elsewhere, James told Natalie that Nicole is going to leave the nominations the same. James said he doesn’t think that Nicole is worried about Michelle since she knows that she has Corey, Victor and the two of them on her side to protect her. James then let Michelle know that Nicole plans to leave the nominations the same. Michelle expects to be targeted. She told James not to vote for her if he finds out that she will be leaving, because she doesn’t want him to get a target on his back.
7:00-8:00 PM: James told Michelle and Natalie that he is starting to realize Nicole is really good at competitions. Michelle and Natalie agreed. Natalie said she already told James this before, saying that Nicole hasn’t needed to win. Natalie said Nicole is a bigger threat than Corey when it comes to competitions. Michelle pointed out that she has yet to hit the block. Michelle mentioned that she should talk to Nicole to let her know that she will throw HoH and will be a pawn next to Victor. In reality, Michelle said she would try to win HoH and she would nominate Nicole next to Victor. Michelle still expects that she is Nicole’s target, since she thinks that Nicole will think that keeping Paul buys her an extra week.
8:00-9:00 PM: In the HoH room, Corey told Nicole he thinks that he will give her the $5,000. Nicole said she doesn’t think that is a good idea. Corey said nobody is going to take the money in order to throw the next HoH competition. Nicole suggested that Corey hang on to it in case someone will, since she needs him to win. Corey asked who he would put up. Nicole said James and Natalie, then they can evict Natalie. Corey said Paul and Victor would control the votes. If those two were to nominate James and Natalie, they discussed that they could keep James. If they got down to the Final 5 with Victor, Paul and Natalie, both Corey and Nicole agreed that it would be smart to keep Natalie around. As for this week, Nicole said she will be keeping nominations the same. She asked Corey if he would ever switch his vote. Corey said he will do what Nicole wants. Nicole told him that she wants Michelle to go. Nicole admitted that she would be fine with taking James out this week if she knew that he was playing dirty and he was out to get them. Corey said he doesn’t think that James is playing that way. They talked about not wanting to blindside James in terms of not letting him know that Michelle is going. Corey figured that he could let James know just before the vote. In the have-not room, Paul told Michelle that it is likely the last week for one of them, so he would like to squash things and be able to enjoy it. Paul let Michelle know that he wants to be friends with everyone after the show, even though they both said some things that made the other upset. Paul claimed that he hadn’t been talking game with Nicole and Corey. Michelle asked how Nicole knew that she was after her then. Paul reminded Michelle that she made it clear in public on numerous occasions, such as when she called Nicole a snake.
9:00-10:00 PM: Corey and Nicole continued to discuss the $5,000. Nicole didn’t want Corey to bribe Paul or Victor to drop out of the HoH competition. Corey felt weird about asking James to, since James would then catch on and know that he has turned his back on him. Nicole eventually admitted that Corey is right about people not wanting to drop out for $5,000. She told Corey to do what is best for his game. Back in the have-not room, Paul and Michelle continued to clear the air. Paul said he finds Michelle hilarious and he loves when she blows things up. Michelle told Paul that what hurt her was him calling her a bully and saying that she runs her mouth. Michelle said she believes that Paul is the same way. Michelle asked how she bullied Paul. Paul said he was trying to get her to stop and think what she has done, since she seemed to be oblivious to everything. Paul said he was in the wrong for blowing up on her when she was not aware of the fact that he was getting upset. He said the bullying comment was a heat of the moment thing to try to hurt her feelings. Michelle thanked Paul for being the bigger person and coming to talk to her. Michelle said she expects to be the one to go this week. Paul played it off as though he doesn’t know anything and he too expects to go.
