Big Brother 24 Day 39 - Kyle wins the Power of Veto
August 12, 2022
8:56 AM: Feeds went down for the veto player pick.
9:38 AM: Feeds returned. The veto players are Taylor, Indy, Terrance, Alyssa, Jasmine and Kyle. Turner will be the host.
9:45 AM: Joseph told Monte that everyone but Kyle will definitely use the veto, but Kyle might do it too. Joseph brought up Taylor making it clear that Terrance is her target. Monte said they have two days and he thinks that they can convince her to target Indy.
9:47 AM: Monte asked Brittany if she knows why Taylor picked Alyssa to compete. Brittany suggested she may have picked her to gain goodwill with Indy. Joseph agreed. Monte said it would make the most sense to pull Terrance down, get Taylor in his good graces, and then send Indy out since she would go after Taylor. Joseph said him sitting next to Indy gives Taylor the easiest way out of this week without looking shady.
9:57 AM: Taylor told Indy she likes who is playing in the veto competition. She said the only doomsday scenario is Terrance winning. Taylor said Alyssa, Jasmine and herself would all save Indy. Taylor mentioned that she would be fine with throwing the veto to Indy should they be the last ones in the competition.
10:17 AM: Kyle told Michael and Turner he doesn’t know if he can bring himself to use the veto on Indy. Michael said he doesn’t have to do it. Turner said it would be dope if he won and didn’t use it. The three guys then talked about how getting rid of Jasmine would be great for them. They agreed that they don’t care it’s Jasmine’s birthday week and don’t like that she keeps using that for everything. They hoped that Taylor would see through it and would be open to nominating Jasmine.
11:10 AM: Jasmine told Terrance not to give her a punishment on her birthday week unless they want to see a side of her that they have not seen before.
11:20 AM: Alyssa and Jasmine told Indy that Taylor made sure they would use the veto on her if they won it. Jasmine told the girls not to give her a punishment if it’s one of those competitions. She said she doesn’t even want the veto or a prize but she does not want a punishment on her birthday week.
11:24 AM: Jasmine told Joseph that Taylor asked for safety for him if she wins HoH. Jasmine said that’s wild, which Joseph agreed with. He said he doesn’t fully trust the relationship he has with Taylor and feels like she either plans to work with him or boot him out. Jasmine said she can’t see Taylor doing that to him at this point.
11:47 AM: Joseph told Taylor that the Leftovers want Indy to go. He said Monte plans to mention that Indy is going to have a vendetta against her. Taylor said she doesn’t care since she was never going to get her vote. Taylor said she just wants to make sure it doesn’t look like she was trying to betray the girls. Jospeh said it wont if he goes up in Terrance’s place. Joseph brought up their allies getting annoyed with Jasmine. Taylor said that’s not her shot to take but she does not care if Jasmine goes out next week.
11:42 AM: Joseph told Monte that Taylor is not going to take the shot at Jasmine. Monte said he respects that and it’s why he didn’t even bring it up. Taylor said she gets why people want Jasmine out but it’s not her shot to take. Joseph said Indy will have to go this week, meaning that he needs to go up in Terrance’s place. Monte said Indy is the bigger competition threat and she will put Taylor up without hesitation. Taylor said she will use the veto on Terrance if she wins. She admitted that the Leftovers did a good job convincing her to go after Indy.
12:29 PM: Kyle asked the Leftovers if they are good with him taking Terrance down. Joseph said to take Terrance down and then they can throw him up on the block.
12:31 PM: Feeds went down for the veto competition.
3:46 PM: Feeds returned. Kyle won the Power of Veto. Alyssa won $5,000, Jasmine won a trip to London, Taylor received a punishment in which she will be tethered to Joseph for 48 hours, Indy received a unitard, and Terrance will receive 182 temporary tattoos as part of an “Ink 182” punishment.
3:46 PM: Taylor told Kyle that Indy and Joseph will be on the block, so she will spin it that she still took a big shot. Taylor said Kyle can pull Terrance down. Kyle said Alyssa should understand since she says that she is sick of Alyssa. Kyle said Taylor wont take much heat for the move since no one is that close to Indy.
3:49 PM: Kyle told Joseph and Taylor that Indy was begging him to let her have the veto. Joseph said she seems to be taking it pretty well downstairs. Joseph asked if he is going up or if it is being left the same. Kyle said it’s up to them. Joseph pointed out that in the time that they are chained together, Taylor decides to put him up. They said they can think about it over the next day and a half.
3:51 PM: Alyssa joined the crew in the HoH room. She said her mom will scream at the television that she is an idiot for not taking the veto. Taylor said she got $5,000 though. Joseph said it’s not like she really needed the veto. Kyle said he would never not take the veto in the situation that he was in, as he would not want to go home when he could have had safety.
3:55 PM: Michael told Brittany that if Taylor wants good TV, Jasmine going home after taking a trip instead of the veto would be good TV. Michael said Jasmine used her birthday as a way to get out of being put up last week, as a way to get out of being a have-not this week, to get a trip to London, and she is wanting four birthday gifts when it is not even her birthday.
4:04 PM: Kyle told Terrance that Taylor is up in the air right now and does not want a girl to go home during her HoH week. Kyle said he is on the fence about what to do but he is going to do what he can to keep Terrance around. Terrance said he is confused since Taylor said there is a bigger target. Kyle said Taylor didn’t tell him not to use it but rather that they should not rush a decision and should weigh their options. Kyle said he kind of wants to use the veto either way after Taylor said there is a big shot that she is going to take. Kyle said he is telling Indy that he is using the veto on her but that is not the case.
4:07 PM: Alyssa told Taylor that Daniel went home after targeting her and now she can do the same to Monte after he said that she is his target.
5:41 PM: Joseph brought up that the two options are to leave nominations the same or put him on the block. Turner asked if he would be going up as a replacement for Terrance. Taylor confirmed that he would be. Taylor said she can make it look like she attempted a big move, gaining Terrance’s trust in the process. Joseph suggested that she start planting seeds about taking a big or unexpected shot.
6:03 PM: Joseph told Kyle that Indy really thinks he is going to use the veto on her. Kyle said it’s because he told her that he would since he doesn’t see any benefit to telling her that he isn’t going to. He clarified that he may tell her just prior to the veto ceremony. Kyle asked if they are still wanting him to use the veto on Terrance. Kyle said he is fine with taking the blame for not using the veto if Joseph doesn’t want to go up, but Taylor said they are going to stick to the plan. Joseph said they are going to have to see how the punishment goes as that throws things for a loop given that it might come off as though he is a pawn if he goes up now. Taylor agreed.
7:05 PM: Brittany, Monte and Taylor discussed Alyssa being an option. Taylor found out that after she won the wall competition, Alyssa said “that’s enough” when Taylor was crying and subsequently hugged Kyle. It was also discussed that Alyssa took the London trip away from Taylor rather than taking the veto during today’s competition. Brittany pointed out that Alyssa leaving would be the thing that hurts Jasmine the most. Taylor asked if they would even vote Alyssa out over Indy if she were to go up. Monte said it would be tough, whereas Brittany said Alyssa would need to go if she goes up. Monte and Taylor agreed that the plan to nominate Joseph doesn’t make any sense after they will be tied up together.
7:16 PM: Brittany, Monte and Taylor filled Michael and Turner in on their conversations about Alyssa. Brittany said Alyssa was in the HoH room and then started to cry before Kyle asked her if she wanted to leave the room. Monte said she thinks Alyssa started sobbing after Taylor talked about being chained to Joseph for 48 hours. Brittany said Alyssa is questioning her decision to take the prize over the veto. Michael asked if Alyssa thinks she is going up for that. Taylor said she apparently does. Michael then asked if it’s going to happen. Taylor said it’s an option at this point but it will depend on how petty she is feeling. Taylor said Alyssa took advantage of all of the things that she had promised her by doing what she did during the veto competition. Turner played devil’s advocate and said Alyssa wouldn’t put Taylor up but Indy would. Michael said he doesn’t think that’s true.
7:34 PM: Michael questioned if Kyle would use the veto if he knows that Alyssa is going up. Taylor said he prefers not to use the veto that sends her home, but that was earlier when she was being petty while talking about making that move. Monte said Kyle has an alibi since he can say he did it thinking that Monte was going on the block. Brittany explained that Kyle’s hands are tied while Alyssa is there, so this move would free him up to be more active.
8:17 PM: Feeds returned after being down for 23 minutes. Indy received her punishment costume.
8:28 PM: Taylor told Brittany that Alyssa came up to her and said she changed her mind and will trade the $5,000 for the punishment. They agreed that Alyssa is scared. Taylor admitted that she does not know what to do but she has many options at this point. Both Brittany and Taylor think there is nothing they can do to salvage a working relationship with the girls at this point.
9:51 PM: Indy spoke the cameras and said she had the veto but Kyle won the game and then took it from her, giving her the punishment costume. Indy said she hopes that Kyle will use the veto on her.
10:55 PM: Alyssa told Kyle she is wondering if Monte and Taylor are actually working together and this is an act before Taylor nominates someone random. Alyssa mentioned that Monte has been super chill. Kyle said he worried that Monte was being pitched as the target so that people would use the veto.
11:01 PM: Michael asked Brittany who her ideal person to go to final three with them would be. She said it would not be anyone from the Leftovers since they are strong. Michael ranked his top three options as Terrance, Indy and Taylor. Michael wondered if it be worth considering going to four with Joseph and Taylor even though it would not be the most ideal scenario. They discussed that a reason to get Alyssa out is that they could then talk to Kyle more. Michael suggested that if Alyssa and Jasmine go in the next two weeks, they could then look at if it’s time to take a shot at the Leftovers.
11:22 PM: Kyle told Brittany and Michael that Alyssa is a little bit scared. They talked about Alyssa’s reaction when Kyle and Taylor were embracing. Kyle said Alyssa told him she was so mad that she was shaking. Kyle brought up Alyssa’s jealousy. Brittany said that’s not good for him, which Kyle agreed with. He questioned if he should try to get her out next week. Brittany asked how Kyle would feel about Alyssa or Jasmine going up this week. Kyle said he would prefer that Alyssa not go up because she is not a threat to any of their three games, plus she could be a number on their side if the Leftovers ever split. Kyle said he thinks that Joseph is playing up that Alyssa was ready to vote him out. Michael admitted that sometimes he wonders about the information they get from Joseph about the other side because he can easily spin a narrative. Kyle said Joseph is the best player in the game right now and he is very calculated. They talked about how he would have the jury votes of the girls on the other side.
2:36 AM: Taylor told Joseph and Turner that it’s so easy not to give people a reason to put you on the block, but Alyssa made a bad game move. Joseph said he doesn’t know who would go home between Alyssa and Indy. Turner said he would put someone up if they took a trip away from him, unless it was someone in the Leftovers. Taylor said Alyssa came to her later and said she takes it back and wants to give Taylor the $5,000 in exchange for the punishment costume. Turner asked if there is any pro to sending Indy home. Joseph said either could go but he thinks Alyssa is a bigger social threat and more likely to win competitions. Joseph explained she is the bigger threat since he wants her to stay. Taylor agreed. Turner said he is fine with either option. Turner pointed out that Jasmine campaigning for Alyssa will drive a wedge between her and Indy. Taylor said she didn’t even think about this move until Alyssa started acting weird after the veto competition.
2:47 AM: Taylor told Michael she is thinking that Alyssa needs to go this week. Taylor said Indy will be unbearable. Michael said he would rather have a frazzled Indy than have Alyssa there. They figured that Kyle wont be enthusiastic about making the move but he will ultimately go for it if the rest of the alliance wants it to happen.
