Big Brother 24 Day 41 - Kyle decides not to use the Power of Veto
August 15, 2022
9:39 AM: Kyle let Indy know that he is leaning towards not using the veto. Indy told him not to worry about it.
10:09 AM: Terrance told Taylor that they are going to have to move strategic as hell now. He pointed out that his will come back to bite Kyle. Taylor said she will never forget this.
10:14 AM: Indy assumed that Kyle is not using the veto because of Alyssa and his feelings for her. She said it would be helpful if they can keep their word when it comes to voting to save her. Indy said she would then have four votes since she has Jasmine and Joseph.
10:18 AM: Kyle informed Alyssa that he is leaning towards leaving nominations the same. Alyssa said she feels fine about that. Kyle said he cannot risk either of their games at this point.
10:44 AM: Alyssa told Indy that if Kyle doesn’t use the veto, it could be due to a conversation with Taylor last night. Jasmine said Taylor told her that she asked Kyle to use the veto but he said that he is not doing that. Jasmine pointed out that Kyle is either working with Monte or is not aligned with them and only cares about Alyssa.
10:49 AM: Taylor told Monte that she is about to watch Kyle screw her with the veto. Monte said he has been talking game with Kyle since Day 1 and he has never seen this side of him. They discussed how hard he was fighting for Alyssa to stay.
10:54 AM: Feeds went down for the veto ceremony.
11:55 AM: Feeds returned. Kyle decided not to use the Power of Veto. Indy and Terrance remain nominated.
11:56 AM: In the HoH room, Terrance counted out his votes with Brittany, Michael and Taylor. Terrance said Kyle guaranteed that he would have the votes. Taylor said she has confidence that Indy will hurt her own game. Brittany said it has been a recurring theme of the season that someone implodes.
12:08 PM: Indy told Brittany and Michael that she wont be campaigning or driving anyone crazy but she wants to know if she can count on their votes to stay. They said yes. Indy said she doesn’t really want to talk to Kyle right now. She said she loves him and knows it’s a game, so it’s fine. Indy asked that Brittany and Michael let her know if they change their minds about keeping her. She said that she will not take it personally. Indy then asked Taylor if she would keep her in the event of a tie. Taylor said that as of right now she would.
12:17 PM: Kyle told Alyssa he is wondering if it will be unanimous to evict Indy this week. Alyssa said it might be. Kyle asked if Jasmine would vote to evict Indy. Alyssa said Jasmine brought up that it’s set in stone that Indy will be leaving. Kyle asked that Alyssa reiterate that they do not talk game. He said that’s very important this week.
12:23 PM: Terrance encouraged Kyle to refrain from putting himself into a tailspin. He said he hopes that he has Kyle’s support moving forward. Kyle reassured Terrance that he has his back and that he would not have made this move if he thought that Terrance would be in danger.
12:29 PM: Brittany told Jasmine that she is in a position where both nominees think that they will have her vote. Brittany and Taylor encouraged Jasmine to talk to Terrance since he is expecting her vote. Jasmine implied that she would be willing to go with the house on this one.
12:33 PM: Alyssa told Taylor she wanted to earn her trust and wanted her to be able to make her big move this week, and she did not expect Kyle to stick his neck out for her. Alyssa said she figures Kyle was thinking that she might have been sent home for making a stupid move during the veto competition. Taylor said she will talk to Kyle because she did not mean to blow up on him, but she is frustrated that she didn’t get to make her move. Taylor spoke about having assured Alyssa that she is safe and then picking her to play in the veto competition. Alyssa said Taylor has proven herself and she wants the chance to win HoH to show her that she has her back as well.
1:06 PM: Kyle told Indy he thinks that everyone is looking at him and questioning the move that he made, but he did what was best for his game. He explained that Taylor should have put someone else up initially if she wanted them to go. Indy said she agrees and she does not blame Kyle at all. Indy said she would like Kyle’s vote to stay. Kyle said she has it. Indy asked if he is 100% on that. Kyle did not want to commit to that since he wanted to keep his options open.
1:12 PM: Kyle told Jasmine that he made a move that was not only best for him but for those close to him. Jasmine asked if he is working with Monte. Kyle said they are on good terms but are not aligned. Kyle added that he would have used the veto if he didn’t feel that Alyssa was at risk of going up. Jasmine said she respects that.
1:29 PM: Brittany made it clear to Taylor that she did not like how Kyle made it seem as though she and Michael wanted Alyssa to stay. She said Kyle should have left it at they were indifferent. Brittany brought up that Kyle is saving one person but making two mad at him and causing distrust within the alliance. They talked about how Joseph was willing to go on the block as a pawn yet Kyle wont even let Alyssa go. Brittany suggested that both Kyle and Turner would be more valuable to them as allies if Alyssa were to leave.
3:41 PM: Kyle told Taylor he thinks Alyssa is fine with what happened and she will vote whichever way they want her to. As for Jasmine, Kyle thought she was okay with it but was blindsided by him not using the veto. Kyle let Taylor know he felt bad about yesterday and wants her to know that he is open to every possibility. He added that he didn’t want to be the only one who wanted to keep things the same but that was not the case based on the conversations that he was having. Kyle pointed out that Brittany, Michael and Turner were all silent once they got into a group setting even though they were telling him that Alyssa needs to stay. Taylor said she could see herself doing the same thing if she thought that speaking up could ruin a good thing that the alliance has going on. Kyle said he doesn’t want to be viewed as the one trying to save Alyssa, as he knows that she has to go and he is fine with it.
4:03 PM: Indy asked Monte where his head is at when it comes to the vote. Monte said he doesn’t want to end up on the wrong side of things and he has not yet talked to people about what they are doing. In particular, he said he would like to know where Taylor’s head is at.
4:13 PM: Indy gave Taylor a heads up that some people are wanting to know what she is thinking before deciding which way to vote. Taylor reassured Indy that she has her back. Indy said that as long as Brittany and Michael give her their votes, she should be good this week. Taylor encouraged her to have fun this week.
4:56 PM: Jasmine told Terrance she has to make sure that whatever move she makes will make sense. She brought up that she fears voting out Indy when they have been close, as it would be a bad look, but she has been close to Terrance too. Terrance said it’s not going to be an easy week but he will be trying.
5:04 PM: Brittany told Turner that Terrance believes Kyle and Monte are working together. Michael said Terrance seems to be counting on the three of them, Alyssa and Kyle to keep him. Michael said he told Indy that he wants her to stay but he did not promise her his vote. Turner said he did the same thing, while Brittany said she screwed up and told Indy that she would keep her.
5:17 PM: Kyle spoke to Alyssa about how they need to keep their distance from each other for game purposes. Alyssa said she doesn’t know what he wants from her. He explained that he would love to spend every minute with her but others are out building relationships while he is only building one with her, so they need to find a balance. Alyssa said he needs to make up his mind as he is hot and cold with her. Alyssa eventually revealed that she wants to be Kyle’s girlfriend, which Kyle agreed to.
7:15 PM: Joseph and Taylor were given their punishment costumes. They will be tethered together for the next 48 hours.
7:49 PM: Kyle and Michael talked about nominating Jasmine and Terrance next week if they win HoH. After that, they were unsure whether or not they should try to take a shot at the Leftovers or stick with them in hope of someone taking out the final non-Leftovers in the weeks that follow. Michael wondered if they need to fill Alyssa in on Kyle having told the Leftovers about Old School and other things. He and Kyle worried that Joseph could beat them to it if he wants to turn on the alliance prior to seven.
7:58 PM: Brittany told Kyle and Michael that Turner needs to realize he is fourth on the totem pole with Joseph, Monte and Taylor. Kyle wondered if there would be a way to take a shot next week if he wins, or if it would be too soon. Michael suggested that striking first would put them up a number and may result in Turner joining them since he will likely go with who is in power at the time that he is forced to pick. On the other hand, Michael worried that Jasmine staying in the game is scary since it could turn into people saying they can get her out next week and then she never leaves.
9:52 PM: Alyssa told Jasmine that Kyle said to trust him that he needed to not use the veto because he felt that she would have gone up. Jasmine said she thinks Kyle was just saying that since Taylor was pissed about what happened. Jasmine worried that Kyle would take a shot at her. She said he has done nothing to make her think that she can trust him, so she is relying on Alyssa saying that she can. Alyssa assured Jasmine she will make sure that Kyle will not make that move.
10:03 PM: Taylor talked to Joseph about her conversation with Kyle. She said Kyle remained adamant that people were telling him one thing and then would not speak up in the group setting. In particular, she said he was looking for Brittany and Michael to say something about wanting to keep Alyssa. Taylor said Michael seemed to be indifferent but Brittany told Kyle to his face that it’s his chance to take Alyssa out. They agreed that it wont matter in the end as long as the alliance wins HoH again, but people are now looking at Kyle differently after how things went down. Joseph said he doesn’t think Kyle made a move that will end up benefitting him.
