Big Brother 24 Day 48 - Brittany decides not to use the Power of Veto
August 22, 2022
10:48 AM: Feeds went down for the veto ceremony.
2:06 PM: Feeds returned. Brittany decided not to use the Power of Veto. Jasmine and Monte remain nominated. The outside feeds remain down, so there is no confirmation as to what happened at their veto ceremony.
2:14 PM: Feeds went down.
4:05 PM: Feeds returned.
9:31 PM: Brittany and Michael agreed that Jasmine has been on her best behaviour this week. Brittany asked if she deserves a more straightforward conversation about why she is going home. Michael said he is okay with it since there is no one that she can run to and blow them up. Michael added that once Jasmine finds out, she would know right away that he picked her first to send her out, so he doesn’t mind being up front about it. Brittany said she would like to let Jasmine know that this week has been really fun and really real despite the fact that she was the target all along. Michael figured that it would allow her to better understand why they sent her to jury with her busted ankle over Monte, and she could see that it wasn’t a matter of being scared to go against the house. Brittany said they will have to figure out how to deal with Terrance since he is going to be mad about Jasmine going. Michael said they can tell him that Jasmine admitted to having a lot of alliances that didn’t involve them. Brittany and Michael agreed that Kyle not coming back would be the worst case scenario for them. Michael said Kyle is their buffer week once they get to seven.
9:45 PM: Micheal brought up that Taylor saying they are final four with Monte but final five with Joseph if he returns shows that they are below Joseph to her. Michael acknowledge that that is a perfect final five for Taylor since she is right in the middle. Michael said they can consider that route but they have to see how things play out, and Joseph leaving may be best this week. Once they get down to seven, Brittany and Michael agreed that they would rather see Turner go than Kyle, but Michael thought it would be hard to pull off. Brittany said the heat will be on Kyle if he makes a move this week while they keep Monte. On the other hand, she said she does not think that anyone is going to hold Joseph and Turner accountable to for taking Kyle out if they go that route, which Brittany thought would be the worst case scenario when coupled with them keeping Monte.
10:03 PM: Michael told Brittany he would be fine with getting rid of Terrance next week but he would love to compete against him in the final competitions since they would have a great shot at winning against him. Michael said Taylor has shown that she is great at endurance but he is still leaning towards going with her at this point, though keeping Terrance around would give them another option if things go south. Michael pointed out that he would rather have a more difficult road at the end than to not make it there at all, as they could still study as much as possible to ensure that they win part three.
10:22 PM: Taylor asked Monte if he has spoken to Brittany about what the end game would look like, clarifying that she means beyond final five. Monte said he hasn’t yet and does not know if they are at that point. Taylor said she is open to it, referring to targeting Michael since they cannot beat him. Monte was hesitant to cause distrust by bringing it up. Monte brought up that if they get down to five with Michael, they would have to bank on beating him in a veto competition which has proven to be tough to do up to this point. Monte said he is a little bit surprised that Michael hasn’t taken into consideration that winning certain competitions would hurt his game more than it would help it. They specifically discussed that OTEV was not necessary for Michael to win.
10:40 PM: Monte and Taylor discussed that Kyle had a bad moment last week. Taylor said nobody else has given the alliance a reason to question them. Taylor pointed out that Kyle put her in a bad position and it also hurt Brittany and Joseph’s games. Monte wondered if Kyle would have used the veto had they been more aggressive in pushing for it. Taylor said he is claiming that he would have but she isn’t sure if that’s true.
11:21 PM: Jasmine told Michael she felt as though Monte wasn’t really in the mix today, though he was working out a lot. Michael said he noticed that too. Jasmine said it may be a matter of Monte’s closest people, Joseph and Terrance, being outside. Jasmine wondered if being on the block is getting to his head. Jasmine said she is probably going to try to talk to Brittany and Michael tonight, then she will have a chat with Taylor about her vote tomorrow. They discussed that Pooch has been their only unanimous vote thus far. Jasmine said they can make it a second one this week.
2:38 AM: Brittany and Michael spoke to Monte about potentially being more straight up with Jasmine this week since there is no one for her to talk to in order to blow things up on her way out. Jasmine said she wonders if she would take it a little easier if she had a better understanding. Monte said he didn’t see a problem with it. Monte said he has a feeling that Jasmine has an idea at this point. Michael said Joseph said Jasmine has already put the three of them, Taylor and Turner together. They discussed telling Jasmine they know certain alliances that she has been a part of, such as Old School and Five Swatters. Brittany said she and Taylor talked about how they can tell her that they cannot promise her their votes.
3:05 AM: Michael told Taylor that Brittany has brought up telling Jasmine that they know about alliances that she has been a part of. Taylor was on board with doing it the day prior to the eviction. They discussed that Jasmine has been on her best behaviour. Michael said from a jury management perspective it would be best to clear things up now rather than having her realize later that she had no shot. Taylor said she clarified with production that she cannot say Jasmine doesn’t have her vote but rather that she cannot promise her vote. Taylor asked if they should question Jasmine about Old School. Michael and Monte said yes. They eventually mentioned that doing this tomorrow night may be best in case there is a Wednesday eviction.
