Move In Day

Group 1: Joe, Amber, Carol and Mike.
Group 2: Jameka, Daniele and Nick.
Group 3: Jen, Zach, Kail and Eric.

There were also three other houseguests moved in upstairs in the HoH room. Those three houseguests were Dick (Daniele’s father), Dustin (Joe’s ex-boyfriend) and Jessica (Carol’s high school rival).

HoH Competition - “Mushroom Madness”

Only the 11 houseguests that entered together will compete in the first HoH competition. When Julie gives them the go ahead, they have 30 seconds to choose a partner in front of one of the mushrooms. The person who cannot find a partner will not compete.

Pairs: Amber and Carol, Daniele and Mike, Jen and Zach, Jameka and Joe, Kail and Eric.

Nick did not have a partner and thus did not compete.

One partner will sit on the stump and answer a series of true or false questions about the houseguests. The other will sit on the mushroom. Each incorrect answer will cause the mushroom to spin faster and faster. The team who stays on the mushroom longest wins the competition and one of them will become the first HoH.

Answer: False. Amber answered incorrectly.

Answer: False. Amber and Jameka answered incorrectly.

After 5 questions, Julie announced that there are no more questions and that it will now become a battle of endurance.

Order to drop out of the competition: Carol and Amber, Jen and Zach, Daniele and Mike, Jameka and Joe.

Eric and Kail were the last team standing. Julie announced that the other group of houseguests that is hidden away cannot be nominated for eviction this week and will be the ones to determine who gets HoH. Dick, Dustin and Jessica decided to give HoH to Kail.

Kail won HoH.

Following the HoH competition, the three houseguests from upstairs joined their fellow houseguests.

America’s Player

It was announced that Eric will be America’s Player. Eric explained that the viewers will be in control of his game, telling him who to vote for, who to target for nomination and so on.

Julie then explained that the viewers will give directions to Eric every episode Julie revealed that Eric will earn $10,000 for every five tasks that he successfully completes. Eric ultimately earned $40,000.

Veto Competition - “Hide and Seek Veto"

Veto Players: Kail, Amber, Carol, Daniele, Jameka and Nick.
Host: Jessica.

Each competitor will be given a veto box and be put into an isolation booth so that they cannot communicate with each other. One at a time they will enter the house and find a place to hide it.

Daniele hid her veto in the bucket of slop.
Carol hid her veto in between the mattresses of Dick’s bed.
Amber hid her veto inside of a pillow case.
Nick hid his veto underneath a mattress.
Kail hid her veto in a box of tea bags.
Jameka hid her veto in her hair bag.

After everyone had hidden theirs, the competitors got to enter the house one at a time for a specified time period to search for everyone else’s.

Order that the veto boxes were found:

Carol found Amber’s veto in Amber’s pillow case.
Kail found Nick’s veto underneath a mattress.
Jameka found Carol’s veto in between Dick’s mattresses.
Nick found Jameka’s veto in her hair bag.
Daniele found Kail’s veto in the box of tea bags.

Daniele won the Power of Veto.

Julie will ask a series of questions about the houseguests. When answering, the houseguests should answer how they think that the majority of the group will respond. Those that are in the majority will stay in the game. The last person standing will become the new HoH.

Question 1: In the “Butter Me Up” food competition, who does the majority say they would rather rub the butter off of, Daniele or Jen?
Answer: Daniele. Zach was eliminated from the competition.

Veto Competition - “Cutthroat Christmas"

Veto Players: Jen, Daniele, Dick, Amber, Joe and Mike.

Santa left six gifts for the houseguests, one of which is the Power of Veto. One at a time, the houseguests will glide the curling stone down the ice. The closer to the red line you slide, the better your chance to win. If you are the furthest, you are out of the game and will select a gift from under the tree. As the subsequent houseguests are eliminated, they will decide if they want to steal your present or unwrap their own. The best curler of the day will choose from all of the gifts, including the Power of Veto.

Round 1: Mike 1, Dick 2, Daniele 4, Amber 7, Jen 12, Joe 13.
Joe was eliminated from the competition.
Joe’s gift was a slop pass.

Round 2: Daniele 1, Amber 5, Mike 5, Dick 17, Jen 20.

Jen’s gift was a unitard that she must wear for the rest of the week.

Mike’s gift was a “Big Brother date”. He could wine and dine a houseguest of his choice. The two of them will be treated to a romantic gourmet dinner.

Dick’s gift was a plasma TV.

Amber was eliminated from the competition.
Amber’s gift was to be handcuffed to a houseguest for 24 hours. Amber chose Kail.

HoH Competition - “Getting Schooled”

Julie will ask a series of true or false questions, covering classroom subjects such as geography, history and math as they pertain to the time in the Big Brother house. Houseguests must answer correctly to stay in the game. The last houseguest standing will become the new HoH.

Question 1: True or false, after finding out that she was evicted from the Big Brother house, one of the first things that Carol said was “fabulous”?
Answer: True. Dustin answered incorrectly and was eliminated from the competition.

Each competitor will stand on top of a pedestal while balancing a glass on top of their hat. If your glass tips over or if you step off of the pedestal, you are out of the game. The non-competing houseguests were given costumes and props to try to distract the veto players with.

The first person to buzz in and answer correctly will get to eliminate someone from the competition. If you buzz in and answer incorrectly, you will be eliminated. The last person standing will become the new HoH.

The living room was transformed into an art gallery. A series of pictures that represent Big Brother phrases will be shown. The houseguests earn “Big Brother Bucks” for each one that they correctly interpreted. Each competitor starts with 1000 Big Brother Bucks. If you misinterpret an art piece you will be eliminated from the competition. There are nine pieces of art and the houseguest with the most Big Brother Bucks at the end of the competition will win the Power of Veto.

Puzzle 1 is worth 500 Big Brother Bucks. Daniele correctly interpreted “Head of Household”.

Puzzle 2 is worth 500 Big Brother Bucks. Daniele correctly interpreted “Memory Wall”.

Puzzle 3 is worth 750 Big Brother Bucks. Kail correctly interpreted “Diary Room”.

Puzzle 4 is worth 750 Big Brother Bucks. Daniele incorrectly interpreted “Power of Veto”, answering with “Veto”. Daniele was eliminated from the competition.

Big Brother offered a trip for two to Barbados for 750 Big Brother Bucks. Dustin buzzed in first to claim the trip.

Julie instructed the houseguests to climb on to a pendulum and sit there. She explained that if at any point you fall off you will be eliminated. The pendulums moved back and forth. The last person hanging on will become the new HoH. Minutes after the competition began, Julie announced that the houseguests will need to hang like a bat, upside down, from the pendulums.

Order to drop out of the competition: Amber (6 minutes), Eric (9 minutes), Jameka (10 minutes), Zach (32 minutes), Dick (44 minutes), Jessica (59 minutes), Jen (1 hour 31 minutes), Kail (1 hour 36 minutes).

The competitors will be faced with a number of sticky situations. The person that bids the highest number will be required to complete the task. The person who bids the lowest number is eliminated from the competition. The last houseguest standing will win the Power of Veto.

Item 1 - “Show Me The Bunny” - Over the next 5 days, how many hours are you willing to wear a bunny suit to stay in the competition? Write down an answer between 0 and 120.

The houseguests will face off two at a time and answer questions about things that the evicted houseguests have said in the diary room. The person to buzz in first must answer the question. If they answer correctly they will stay in the game and will choose the next two houseguests to face off. If they answer incorrectly, they will be eliminated from the competition. The last person standing will become the new HoH.

Veto Competition - “Shot For Shot”

Veto Players: Jessica, Daniele, Dick, Dustin, Jameka and Zach.
Host: Eric.

The houseguests were separated into different parts of the house. The houseguests made their way outside one at a time to compete. The game was croquet and there were different drink stations set up along the way. Each station that you complete will earn you one shot in the game.

The ten drink stations were 1) Water 2) Maple syrup 3) Big Brother blood 4) Pickle juice 5) Burger, fries and banana shake 6) Steak and broccoli with Worcestershire sauce 7) Pig ear, pig feet and ham 8) Iced tea (green tea, aloe vera and peach juice) 9) Bacon, egg and orange juice 10) Hot dog with relish and cola.

After everyone finished the shots, they went outside to see how many shots everyone had earned in the croquet portion of the competition. Each shot can be worth up to five points, as one point will be earned for each wicket that the ball is hit through and a fifth point will be reward if you hit the stake. The person with the most points will win the Power of Veto.

The number of shots earned were as follows: Zach 3, Jameka 4, Jessica 5, Daniele 7, Dustin 10, Dick 10.

Zach’s shots: 1 + 2 + 3 = 6 points.
Jameka’s shots: 3 + 3 + 1 + 3 = 10 points.
Jessica’s shots: 5 + 3 + 3 + 1 + 5 = 17 points.
Daniele’s shots: 3 + 3 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 5 + 3 = 20 points.
Dustin’s shots: 2 + 4 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 2 = 32 points.
Dick’s shots: 3 + 3 + 3 + 4 + 3 + 3 + 4 + 2 + 3 + 5 = 33 points.

Yesterday, the houseguests had visitors in the Big Brother house. The questions for the HoH competition will be based on the visitors. Julie will ask a series of true or false questions about the visitors. If you answer correctly, you will stay in the game. If you answer incorrectly, you will be eliminated. The last person standing will become the new HoH.

Question 1: True or false, the pirate on stilts said “always drink downstream of the heard?”.
Answer: False. Jen answered incorrectly and was eliminated from the competition.

Question 2: True or false, only two members of the barbershop quartet had red bands on their hats?
Answer: True. Dick and Zach answered incorrectly and were eliminated from the competition.

Question 3: True or false, the cards around the bunny’s necks were the ace of hearts, nine of clubs and the five of diamonds?
Answer: True. Eric answered incorrectly and was eliminated from the competition.

Question 4: True or false, the mini mad hatter ran around the house with seven cards on his hat?
Answer: False. Amber answered incorrectly and was eliminated from the competition.

Veto Competition - “Big Brother Speedway”

Veto Players: Daniele, Amber, Jameka, Dick, Jessica and Zach.

The viewers were asked their opinions about hot topics in the house. There will be five heats at the Big Brother Speedway. In each heat you will be asked to answer which percentage of Big Brother fans answered in a certain way. After five heats, the winner will receive the Power of Veto.

Question 1: What percentage of those polled think Kail would make a good politician?
Answers: Jessica 13%, Zach 27%, Daniele 32%, Amber 45%, Jameka 45%, Dick 78%.
The correct answer was 19%. Dick was eliminated from the competition.

Question 2: What percentage of those polled think life in the Big Brother house is easy?

The top two competitors in the veto competition earned a mystery trip out of the house. Daniele and Amber were taken to the diary room and informed that they will be boarding a private jet for New York City to be contestants on the game show “Power of 10” hosted by Drew Carey. Amber won $1,000 while on the show.

HoH Competition - “Tanks For The Memories”

The houseguests sat above 350 gallon tanks of water. Questions were asked of the first five evicted houseguests, and it is up to the houseguest to figure out how they answered. If you answer correctly, you remain in the game. If you answer incorrectly, Jen will push the button that sends the houseguests plunging into the ice cold water. The last person standing will become the new HoH.

Each houseguest will stand on their tree stump and the cat will utter a word or phrase. The word or phrase will be the answer to a riddle that can be found on a rat hidden in the swamp. You must find a rat that matches the answer and bring the rat to the hungry cat. If you are the last to bring him his meal, you will be eliminated. The last person standing will win the Power of Veto.

HoH Competition - "Big Brother Tea Party"

Each houseguest is standing next to a teapot filled with 55 gallons of tea. They must transfer the tea to the tank at the end of their walkway as fast as they can, using a mini tea cup. As the liquid rises, so will the ball inside of the tank. The goal is to put enough tea into the tank that the ball rises high enough to get it out. The first houseguest to carry their silver ball to the finish line will become the new HoH.

There was a smaller container as well. Jessica announced that the first to fill that container would receive a phone call from home. Eric was the first to fill the smaller container. He gave the phone call to Jessica.

Zach won HoH.

Veto Competition - “Janelle-O-Vision”

One at a time, the houseguests will take a seat in the pink chair. After they have spun for 60 seconds, they will make their way to the Janelle-O-Vision screen. They will then see a swirling puzzle that has two houseguests’ faces, and they must identify which two houseguests they are. They will then hit the button and a new puzzle will appear. The houseguests will have four minutes to answer as many as they can. The houseguest who correctly answers the most will win the Power of Veto.

On the board are a series of clues that correspond to an evicted houseguest. You must put the face of the houseguest on the board that corresponds to the two clues around it. Each face can go in only one spot.

Once the face is on the board you must spin the wheel to find the corresponding number. The numbers will answer the question of how many seconds they have been in the Big Brother house. The first person to complete it will win the Power of Veto.

Final HoH Competition - Part 1 - “The Bunny Hop”

Julie instructed the houseguests to hop on to one of the carrots and keep at least one hand on the key above them at all times. She then told the houseguests that they must dodge the rabbit by hopping over it each time he ran past them. The houseguests are eliminated from the competition if they let go of their key, fall or stop the rabbit from moving forward. The last houseguest standing will win Part 1 of the Final HoH competition.

Order to drop out of the competition: Daniele (2 hours 47 minutes), Dick (7 hours 32 minutes).

Zach won Part 1 of the Final HoH competition. Zach advanced to Part 3 of the Final HoH competition.

Final HoH Competition - Part 2 - “Chain Of Command”

Before the houseguests are two tanks. In one tank are the pieces to the puzzle. The pieces must be collected and brought to the other tank, where the red line must be assembled in the order that the houseguests held Head of Household. The person to do so in the shortest amount of time will win Part 2 of the Final HoH competition.

Final HoH Competition - Part 3

Julie will read the beginning of statements made by each of the six members of the Big Brother 8 jury while they were at the jury house. She will then give two choices of possible endings. It’s up to the houseguests to decide how the juror finished the statement. The houseguest with the most points at the end of six rounds will become the final HoH of the season.
