BBCAN4 Day 21 - Christine is evicted; Joel wins HoH
March 17, 2016
9:00-10:00 AM: Kelsey and Loveita discussed the vote in the HoH room. Loveita said that she is pretty shocked at some of the things that are being said with regards to Cassandra now. Kelsey said that she wont be totally choked if Christine stays. Loveita told Kelsey that she would be safer with Christine in the house. Loveita pointed out that Cassandra has “burned” Kelsey’s name. Kelsey admitted that she has but said that Cassandra has done that with everyone. Kelsey explained that she knows now not to trust Cassandra but she has burned a lot of bridges and somebody will take her out, while nobody will nominate Christine any time soon. Loveita was concerned that the back and forth would continue. Kelsey assured her that if Jared, Raul or herself win HoH, it will not be Loveita going up on the block.
10:00-11:00 AM: Dallas joined Kelsey and Loveita in the HoH room. Dallas said that it will be a vote of 6-5. He said that Cassandra is convinced that she has the numbers. Loveita said that she will not be able to trust Cassandra and she knows that she is her target. Kelsey said that the one things that makes her feel better about the thought of Christine leaving is that she won a $10,000 prize. Dallas said that he has come to terms with Cassandra staying, though he does not like how she is handling it. Dallas mentioned that Cassandra is going to Christine and saying that she feels bad about having the votes. Loveita told Dallas and Kelsey that she is ready to let the cards fall where they may. Dallas said that he expects Cassandra to stay. While Dallas expects that the brothers will keep Cassandra, he didn’t understand why they would keep her after she tried to get them nominated. Dallas and Kelsey agreed that Cassandra is more likely to go back on the block sooner than Christine would. In the have-not room, Christine made a quick pitch to Joel. She told him that Cassandra has made the same deals with everyone in the house. On the other hand, Christine said that she will stick to the deals that she makes. Christine figured that Joel, Mitch and herself could let everyone else fight it out and be targets around them. Tim then spoke to Joel about the vote. Joel let Tim know that he has locked it in with Mitch and the brothers that he will be voting to keep Cassandra. Tim said that even though Christine is probably a better player to work with, he thinks that they need to keep Cassandra in order to not piss off Jared’s group to a point where they come after them next week. Joel agreed.
2:00-3:00 PM: Christine asked Joel if he knows what he is doing and if he knows that he is making the right decision. Joel said that you will not know if you made the right decision until some time down the road. Christine said she assumes that Joel is leaning towards keeping Cassandra. He replied with “not necessarily”. Christine then told him that Tim is voting for her. Tim confirmed that but said that he believes that Cassandra is staying. Christine wanted to know which way Joel was planning to vote, because she wanted to talk to Mitch if she was not going to get his vote. Tim said that nobody in the middle can say if they are going to vote for her, since they will then be subject to a witch hunt. Tim suggested that she leave it up to fate. Christine said that she will leave it and find out what happens come the time of the vote. Tim then spoke to Joel and said that he will not pressure him into anything but the worst case scenario for them next week is if Christine goes by a lopsided vote. Tim mentioned that he is voting Cassandra out but it is a gamble if Joel decides to do the same. Joel said that he is going with his gut and with the path that seems to cover his bases the best. Tim said that the only person that doesn’t know that he is voting to keep Christine is Cassandra. Tim told Joel that he would feel awful if Cassandra ends up going home. He expected that he could explain the vote to Cassandra as long as she stays. Tim said that his gut is telling him to do this stupid move. Tim figured that both Mitch and Joel would 100% be voting to keep Cassandra. Mitch said yes. Cassandra walked in and questioned what is going on. Tim told her that she is staying and that is all that she needs to know. Kelsey then joined them and said that she has told Loveita that Cassandra will be staying.
8:00-9:00 PM: During tonight’s eviction episode, Christine was evicted by a vote of 6-5. The vote went as planned, with Tim throwing the fifth vote Christine’s way in order to keep it close. Afterwards, the HoH competition got underway. The houseguests played in randomly selected pairs. The winning pair would have to decide which of the two would become the new HoH. The pairs were as follows: Nikki and Phil, Maddy and Tim, Kelsey and Ramsey, Dallas and Jared, Cassandra and Raul and Joel and Mitch.
9:00-10:00 PM: When feeds returned, we found out that Joel is the new HoH. Joel and Loveita discussed that people are going to have to talk to Joel now. Joel said that they need to put a dent in things. Loveita told Joel that she will vote whichever way he wants her to vote this week. Joel explained that he wants to make a move that will keep Loveita, Mitch and himself safe heading into next week. Joel wondered if a backdoor play is the way to go or if it is too risky. Loveita suggested nominating two people that are targets of Joel’s. Joel brought up Tim as a potential pawn. He figured that people would understand why he would nominate Tim.
11:00-12:00 AM: In the bedroom, Cassandra and Loveita spent over an hour talking things over. Cassandra told Loveita that she makes a lot of faces towards her and is condescending, which is not how a normal adult acts. Cassandra said that it is immature and is like high school. Loveita said that she is scared to talk to Cassandra because she will may make things up or twist things afterwards. The two discussed the need to squash things between them, though the back and forth continued. Cassandra told Loveita that she is very snippy, makes her feel uncomfortable and has a lot of hate built up. Cassandra suggested that they do a yoga class together. Loveita said that she is disappointed but does not hate Cassandra. The two continued to go in circles, with the eventual result being that they agreed to attempt to act like adults and not make things awkward in the house. Both girls said that they are not necessarily gunning for the other should they win HoH, adding that the feud between them may even end up being advantageous from a game perspective.
In the HoH room, Joel spoke to Ramsey and told him that he is not on his radar. Joel said that he does not know which way he is going to go at this point. Ramsey mentioned that they both have great relationships with Loveita. He said that Joel is not on his radar either. Ramsey told Joel that he is very proud of him for making his own decision when it came to this week’s vote. Ramsey said that Joel should pay attention to who comes to talk to him now that he is in power. He made a point of saying that he would want to go deep into the game that got to know him on a human level, not just on a game level. After Ramsey left, Maddy spoke to Joel. Maddy assured Joel that he is not the target for Dallas, Ramsey or herself. Maddy said that they will be going after the three headed monster of Jared, Kelsey and Raul. She wanted to stay in the game long enough to be able to make a big move against those three. Maddy said that it is fine if Joel does put her up, though she is gunning for those other three. Joel said that they have not talked any sort of game before and he appreciates that Maddy is having this talk with him. Joel asked if Dallas is upset at him for any reason. Maddy said no but he may be scared of how close Joel has gotten to Loveita. That being said, Maddy told Joel that Dallas has never brought his name up in a negative manner. Maddy said that they are loyal people that have remained a trio from the beginning, but they are not as strong as Jared, Kelsey and Raul’s trio.
1:00-2:00 AM: Dallas let Joel know that he is not even close to being on his radar. He said that they have a lot of common goals. Dallas advised Joel not to do the dirty work of the house, since there are a lot of people gunning for him. Dallas told Joel that he will have his vote next week if he ends up on the block. If Dallas wins HoH, he said that he would keep Joel safe. He also suggested that they could work together along with Loveita, Maddy and Ramsey. Jared was the next to speak to Joel. Jared stated that his biggest worry is that people will try to get in Joel’s ear too much. He told Joel to do what is best for him and not for someone else. Specifically, Jared said that he sees Loveita as someone that is manipulative and thinks that Joel should have to do whatever she wants. Jared let Joel know that Kelsey, Raul and himself will back him and vote whichever way he wants them to. Kelsey and Raul later stopped by to make a similar pitch to Joel. They too said that Joel should do what is best for himself. Cassandra did the same, saying that this is Joel’s HoH and he should do whatever he wants. She said that they are coming off of a dictatorship and finally have a free country again.
Joel spoke to Mitch and told him that Tim is someone that he is becoming really unsure of. Joel was confused as to what Tim was trying to accomplish when he decided to change his vote at the last minute. Joel felt that it put all of the pressure squarely on him, since he essentially became the deciding vote. Joel figured that Tim would not hold it against him if he nominated him. While Mitch agreed that Tim is peculiar and may be a master manipulator, he was not so sure about nominating Tim as a pawn. Mitch thought that it would lead to Tim having his eye on Joel, which may not be a good thing. He told Joel to make sure that he lets Tim know that he has the votes and is just a pawn if he happens to go that route. Mitch said that his initial gut feeling is that Dallas and Maddy are people that he doesn’t really talk to, so it would make sense for one to go. Joel said that he is thinking the same thing. One concern that Mitch had about taking out Dallas is that it would make that side appear less threatening and may cause the sides to come after those in the middle instead. On the other hand, he said that Jared’s trio is so tight that the remaining two would still be perceived as a great threat even if one goes. Joel agreed. Mitch said that he still feels better about Jared, Kelsey and Raul, because he believes that they would go after the brothers and potentially Cassandra and Tim before they got after them.
2:00-3:00 AM: Joel questioned Tim about his vote. Tim said that part of his game is played for the fans, because they are making a TV show and need to remember that. Joel said that it can paint a target on your back. Tim told Joel that he did not mean to deceive Joel and even brought up that he would vote for Cassandra if Joel wanted to vote for Christine. Joel said that he heard exactly what he wanted to hear from Tim about the vote. Tim said that he wont do it again. Tim said that he will not try to convince Joel of anything and will not turn around and hate him if he puts him on the block. Joel let Cassandra and Tim know that one of his options is to target Dallas, while the other option is to take a shot at the power trio. Tim pointed out that Joel will have the numbers to protect himself next week regardless of what he chooses. Tim said that there is a level of trust with Jared but you know that you could never trust Dallas. Joel agreed and said that Jared is the last of the three that he would target. They discussed that Jared could be someone to work with once Kelsey are Raul leave. Joel said that his options for nominations are either Kelsey and Raul or Dallas and Maddy. By the end of the talk, Cassandra and Tim told Joel that they think he is right that Dallas needs to go. Joel said he is definitely an option.
3:00-4:00 AM: Joel went over his options by himself. He discussed the possibility of nominating Dallas and Tim. He counted out the votes for Tim as Cassandra, Nikki, Loveita, Mitch and the brothers, which is all that Tim would need to stay. However, Joel said that it is too close and he does not want Tim to go home. Joel also counted out the votes in the event that Tim is the pawn next to Kelsey. In that scenario, Joel counted out 7 of the 10 votes as being in Tim’s favour. Finally, Joel counted out the votes between Raul and Tim, though it was unclear what he concluded.
