BBCAN4 Day 58 - Phil wins the Power of Veto
April 23, 2016
11:00-12:00 PM: Players were picked for the veto competition. Cassandra, Nikki, Phil, Jared, Joel and Kelsey. Up in the HoH room, Kelsey told Cassandra not to worry because even if the brothers stay they want to go after Nikki and Tim. Cassandra said they want her and Tim to go. Kelsey pointed out that Cassandra would still have she and Jared on her side even if Tim were to go. Kelsey asked who the replacement nominee would be. Cassandra said she has no clue but it cannot be Tim because he would go. She said it would have to be Jared, Kelsey or Joel. Kelsey worried that Tim would try to get her out in the event of a double eviction. Cassandra said she doesn’t think Tim would do that. Kelsey also did not like having Nikki in the game because it gives Tim someone by his side. Cassandra told her that Nikki can go next week but the brothers have to go this week. Kelsey said Tim is a way bigger threat than Nikki and she would prefer that he leaves first. Kelsey called the internationals “dangerous” and said they have the ability to swing someone like Joel. Kelsey thought that Phil winning PoV would not be the worst thing for them since the brothers would go after Nikki and Tim. Cassandra said she wants to get Tim out herself. Kelsey told her that she should have nominated Tim next to Nikki. When Kelsey continued to push for Tim to go, Cassandra let her know that the brothers came to her and said they need to get Jared out of the house. Cassandra explained that the brothers would go after Jared and Kelsey if Tim were to go. Kelsey wasn’t sure about that.
12:00-1:00 PM: Cassandra and Kelsey continue to chat, with Kelsey saying that everyone tells Joel everything and he thinks that he is in good with everyone because he is. Kelsey figured that Joel sees Nikki and Tim as his best chance to win the game. Earlier, Cassandra had told Kelsey that she does not want Joel to go this week. Kelsey suggested nominating Tim if the brothers win the PoV. Cassandra said no way because Tim would go. Cassandra said Tim is still a number for her and she thinks that he is a number for Jared and Kelsey as well. Kelsey brought up that Tim lies about things such as not having watched the show. Cassandra said Tim is honest with her and tells her everything, such as that he watched the show. Cassandra noted that Kelsey does not want the brothers to go. Kelsey said she wants Tim to go. Cassandra told her that it’s not happening and that the brothers are going. Cassandra informed Kelsey that the brothers threw Jared and Kelsey under the bus yesterday. Kelsey said it is Cassandra’s HoH and she will respect her decision. Cassandra let Kelsey know that the brothers said she talks badly about her, thinks she is shady and that she goes around to everyone in the house. Cassandra also said the brothers told her that Kelsey tried to get them not to talk to her because she was afraid that they would reveal her true colours to Cassandra. Kelsey said she is 100% convinced that the brothers have to go now. Cassandra said the brothers were not arguing against Tim but rather against Jared and Kelsey who they claim led the charge to save Maddy. Cassandra clarified that she, not Tim, came up with the idea of nominating Jared next to the brothers in order to ensure that he would play in the veto competition. She told Kelsey that it was Tim who said not to do it. Kelsey admitted that she would have targeted Tim had she won HoH but she told Cassandra that she has to understand that the brothers have been telling them lots of things about both Cassandra and Tim. After hearing everything that Cassandra had to say, Kelsey said she is now feeling better about Tim. Cassandra said she understands Kelsey’s concerns but Tim is on their side for the time being. Kelsey said she has to go tell Jared to win the PoV because the brothers have to go. Kelsey let Cassandra know that she plans to maintain a good relationship with the brothers in case they stay. Kelsey then headed downstairs and told Jared that the brothers have to go. Jared asked why. Kelsey said they just do. She explained that the brothers went to Cassandra and made stuff up about them. Kelsey said she cannot believe that she was even thinking about using the PoV on the brothers. Jared told Kelsey not to worry because they will win the PoV.
1:00-2:00 PM: Tim told Nikki that he hopes she wins the PoV. Nikki asked if she should use it. Tim said it would be silly not to so yes, but it’s a pretty big move not to. Nikki pointed out that Cassandra chose to put him up and the replacement nominee would have to understand. Tim agreed and said it’s not Nikki’s fault if someone else has to go on the block because she wins the PoV. Nikki asked if Cassandra would actually nominate Jared if the brothers were to win the PoV. Tim said he thinks that Cassandra is now leaning towards nominating Kelsey. Tim explained that Cassandra believes that Jared would never put her up so there is no reason to take him out. Jared joined them and told Nikki that she doesn’t have anything to worry about and the biggest thing she could do this week is not cause a fuss. Nikki said she knows. Tim added that the brothers are likely going to try to get under Nikki’s skin if they do not win the PoV. Tim mentioned that it astounds him how the brothers are so sure of themselves and think so little of everyone else. Tim admitted that he would not have wanted the brothers out as much as he does if they had owned up to wanting him out last week.
2:00-3:00 PM: Kelsey told Jared it’s amazing how much one talk can change your mind on things. She said that she is now thinking they should stick to what they were saying and go to the Final 4 with Cassandra and Tim. Jared said sadly he knows. Kelsey said she would likely go after Joel if she wins HoH. Jared said they could then get Cassandra out and keep Tim around until the Final 3. Jared figured that they could beat Tim in competitions but even if they lost it would be sure bet that one of them would win the $100,000. Jared believes that everyone would vote for a Canadian to win and also that they have enough friends on jury that they would be able to beat Tim in the end. Kelsey argued that they could have a good shot at winning against Cassandra as well.
10:00-11:00 PM: The feeds returned following the veto competition. Phil won the Power of Veto. It was a how bad do you want it style of competition in which the houseguests had to take punishments for points. The brothers got their heads shaved and have to wear a skunk suit. They also cannot compete in the next veto competition. Cassandra is the maid and has to clean up poker chips every time they fall when the jackpot sign goes off. She also received a strategy session with Big Brother Canada 3 winner Sarah Hanlon. Joel is on slop for the rest of the season. Phil spoke to Jared and suggested that he speak to Cassandra. Phil said he cares about Jared and wants him to stay. Jared and Kelsey spoke. Kelsey figured that she could just as easily be the one going on the block. They discussed that Nikki is sticking close to Joel because she knows that Joel is a vote.
11:00-12:00 AM: Cassandra and Tim spoke in the HoH room. Tim suggested that Cassandra do as Sarah said in terms of trusting her gut. They discussed that the brothers are in a vulnerable position next week since they cannot play in the veto competition. Tim said he cannot believe how hard Joel worked in the veto competition. They agreed that Joel has their backs 100%. Cassandra said she is livid with Jared and Kelsey for not taking punishments. Cassandra brought up getting rid of Jared this week. Tim said he will cry. Cassandra said she does not care and is not worried about Jared’s reaction. Cassandra went over the alternative of nominating Kelsey and targeting Nikki. Tim pointed out that Jared, Kelsey and the brothers would then work against them. Cassandra asked if Tim would ever turn on her in this game. Tim said absolutely not. Cassandra then asked if he would nominate Nikki before her. Tim said 100%. Tim began to tear up and said he was really impressed that Cassandra and Joel stood by him the other day. Tim admitted that he feels like an ass because he did not respect Cassandra for the whole game. He let her know that he does respect how she plays. Cassandra said she will be nominating Jared. However, she briefly questioned if it is a bad move since she believes that Jared would not come after her. Tim said she then has to look at in terms of whether or not she can beat Jared at the end. He explained that Jared may take her to the end but she would be winning $20,000 instead of $100,000.
12:00-1:00 AM: Cassandra told Tim that he is her #1 in the game. She said they need to think of their plan to get to the end. She said she believes that it is getting Jared out this week. Tim agreed. Tim told Cassandra that he wants getting Jared out to be Cassandra’s move that she can own. Tim claimed that he will never say he helped Cassandra make that move. Cassandra felt that it was indeed her move and said she had thought of nominating Jared and the brothers originally. Cassandra mentioned that Jared did not try to win the competition because he is so cocky and confident. Tim said Jared and Kelsey wanted the brothers to win and hoped that Nikki would then be the target. Cassandra thought that Jared was convinced that she would nominate Tim over him. Cassandra said they are so close to the end. She told Tim to imagine the two of them being in the Final 2. Tim said he would tell everyone that he didn’t like or respect Cassandra’s strategy at the start but he grew to love and admire how good she is at the game. He then said he doesn’t need another win and would not fight for the win if he is at the end with either Cassandra or Jared. They discussed that they could make it through next week even if they don’t win HoH as long as they win the PoV. Joel joined them and said all that needs to happen is that the brothers don’t win HoH and then they are out of the house. Cassandra let Joel in on her plan to nominate Jared. She expected that Kelsey would feel so betrayed by her. Joel said he can try to smooth things over with Kelsey.
