BBCAN5 - Dallas Cormier Exit Interview

March 24, 2017

There were discussions about attempting to flip the vote up until the minute when feeds went down yesterday. Did you notice any scrambling going on?

Dallas: Yeah, actually I did. There was lots of scrambling going on last minute. Ika was trying to convince Demetres to give me the nod in the event of a tie. I approached Karen to try to see where her head was at and do I have her vote. She basically told me “no, it’s a lose-lose for me". I lost faith in her. Getting that seventh vote was almost unattainable. Kevin and Bruno could have easily done it, but they are playing a game where they are trying to be off the radar. I don’t know why it is. They pushed to get me out this week. They got their wish. In retaliation, I exposed their game as well.

At what point, if any, were you told that you would 100% be going home?

Dallas: It was probably within the last hour before we had to sit down as a group, downstairs in the living room. I didn’t get told anything. I knew that the six votes weren’t going to be enough. I told the six votes “don’t even bother giving me a sympathy vote. Don’t let me bring down your game by being on the opposite end of the vote this week”.

You mentioned that you played even harder and faster than last time. Did you feel added pressure to do so coming into the house as a returnee?

Dallas: A little bit, yeah. I definitely don’t think there was much of an advantage coming back a second time with eight newbies in the house. It was nice that it was an eight and eight split cause if the vet thing was the real deal, it would have been nice. But I definitely feel like there was a bit of extra pressure for sure.

When you saw the other vets on night one, who were excited to see and to potentially work with?

Dallas: When I walked through the door, I saw Kevin and Ika there. Kevin was basically my favourite player in BBCAN history. I definitely wanted to work with him. I knew he was very strategic and a numbers guy, but it didn’t quite work out with Kevin and I.

On the other hand, which vets were you not excited to see?

Dallas: Sindy with an S. Our attitudes are so much different. I find she is so artificial. I used the analogy today that she is as real as a three dollar bill. I just can’t really stand that beauty queen false bullshit, to be honest with you. When I saw her walk through the door, I kind of just rolled my eyes and was like “ah, here we go”.

Are you surprised at how close you were with Cassandra?

Dallas: No, after the show last year I was actually pretty close with Cass. We talked a lot. We think very highly of each other. When I had the opportunity to play with her this year, I knew how socially great she was. I definitely, at the beginning of last season, thought she was a wingnut. I’m not going to lie to you. I thought she was so far out to lunch. The more I got to know her, the more I got to realize that’s who she really is. Cass definitely campaigned for me hard this week. I appreciate Cass big time. I am definitely going to be pulling for her to win this show.

Do you think Cassandra’s game has changed at all from last season, or did you see her doing the same things both times?

Dallas: I did see a lot of similarities. I can’t lie. She is a pro campaigner. She pushes things and pushes things and pushes things. She tries to drill them in your head and force your vote, similar to last season. There is no Tim Dormer, so you can’t really say she had that ride or die with one person. I guess maybe that was me, but me and Tim’s games are a lot different for sure.

When Cassandra, Gary and Ika told you that the vets would not have your back if you went up, you seemed surprised that the vets were not solid. Heading into last week, were you truly 100% with the vets?

Dallas: Yeah. I definitely wanted to get close to the newbies so that I could relay back information to the vets, you know what I mean? Ika and everybody told me it’s a good plan to keep Dillon close cause we can use them. That’s what I did. When push came to shove, I find out the vets aren’t really a unit anymore, so I gotta have multiple vet meetings and conversations. They were right. The vets were in shambles. I told everybody “if you guys let a vet get backdoored this week, this thing is over. It’s too gone for repair”. I do think there will be some vets that do stick together, but it’s not going to be a vets vs newbies ride or die situation.

You waited until near the end to expose your Wise Guys alliance. Did you feel that there was actually loyalty there from Bruno and Kevin, or what was the reasoning behind that?

Dallas: No. I was told that Kevin and Bruno were actually pushing to get me out the door. I knew those two were going to be working together. I feel like there is a season three thing going on there between those two. If I can expose their games, I am glad to do it. If you are not with me, you are against me. I told Gary, Cass and Ika “you have to vote out Kevin and Bruno. You have to put them on the block and get them out the door”. I told Dre, Will and Jackie the same thing. I said “you have to put up Kevin and Bruno next week 100%. There is no doubt about it”.

You called out Emily the night before the vote. What were you hoping to accomplish, and which houseguest(s) told you that Emily was threatening people for votes?

Dallas: It was mostly Jackie and Cass that came back with that information. I didn’t want to say that directly to Dre, cause I like them both. There are some games that I did want to protect. I didn’t want to bring them down with me. The point I was trying to prove is that intimidation isn’t really necessary if you are on the block. Going around and saying “if I don’t got your vote, your ass is grass” isn’t necessary. I really wanted to expose that and make Emily a liar saying “I didn’t say that”, and make Dre stick her next out and say “that is what happened”. It didn’t really work out as planned. I thought it was pretty creative.

We saw you dumping the condiments out and waking people up with pots and pans. What made you do all of that?

Dallas: Basically at that point I kind of thought give the streamers something to talk about. I didn’t really feel like I was going to get that seventh vote or get Demetres to sway. If I did get Demetres to sway, it would be like “the guy just made such a big target of himself. If he does get the six votes, I’ll give him the nod cause he might just be the most hated person inside of this house right now”. As long as my face is going up on that screen as a nomination, their face isn’t. I tried to almost make myself look like the bad guy. When you are strong and physical, sitting on the block next to a girl that doesn’t look like she is going to win a lot of competitions, 98% of the time the guy is going to go home. That’s just the nature of the business.

At this stage, who do you think is the biggest threat to win the game?

Dallas: Neda. The best possible twist I think I have seen in Big Brother Canada history, to blast right to jury unscathed. She is playing really well socially. She hasn’t really burned any bridges at all. She can really set herself up nicely for the weeks to come with jury, with potential deals. I think Neda might go really really far inside of this game.

You mentioned you would like to see Cassandra to win the game, correct?

Dallas: Yeah, Cass. Cass, Ika, Gary. It’s all good if they win. I wouldn’t hate to see Cass and Jackie, one vet and one newbie, at the end. A couple chicks banging it out to see who is best. I wouldn’t mind that.

Lastly, how did this experience compare to the one that you had last season?

Dallas: It was definitely different this time around. I kind of knew the process of everything. This year it was kind of easier when I got evicted. I know how devastating it was last year. I didn’t take it so personally. I realize it was more of a game. There are some pretty iconic vets I shared this season with, so it was definitely a very cool experience. A lot of people don’t have one chance to play this game, let alone two. It’s very disappointing that I got sent home this early. I felt that I had a lot more potential to give to this game, and a lot more excitement and entertainment to provide to the viewers and fans. Some things you just can’t control.
