Big Brother Canada 6 Day 7 - Ryan nominates Andrew and Hamza
March 9, 2018
10:00-11:00 AM: Ryan spent time speaking to each of the houseguests individually in order to ask them a couple of questions. He started off by letting them know that Andrew and Hamza will be nominated. One of the main things that he asked was who would each person would nominate once the next four house targets are gone. Those four are Andrew, Hamza, Merron and Veronica. He also brought up that he would like to call Merron and Veronica out at a family dinner tonight, so that they know nobody believes their story. Ryan stressed that he doesn’t want someone to be able to blackmail them into voting for them by saying what people are thinking. Finally, he floated the idea of targeting a replacement nominee instead of Andrew or Hamza if he could get enough people on board with doing so. Ryan spoke to Jesse first. Jesse mentioned Erica, Maddy and Olivia as people that he would target down the line. He singled out Erica as someone who could rally people against the guys. Ryan told Jesse that he is someone who he would be approaching for a vote if he goes the backdoor route. Should nominations stay the same, Ryan said he thinks that Hamza is more dangerous since he is more laid back, a salesman, and there is more gamesmanship coming from him. Next up, Ryan spoke to Derek. Derek said Maddy is someone who he would go after eventually. Derek explained that Maddy is a floater, trying to talk game with everyone. Derek added that Maddy would be an easy target that nobody would particularly miss. He threw Erica’s name out there as someone else who scared him early on.
11:00-12:00 PM: Will spoke to Ryan, letting him know that Hamza wants to be nominated so that he doesn’t get backdoored. Ryan confirmed that Hamza wants a chance to win the veto, which is why he wants to go on the block. Will mentioned Olivia as a target of his down the line. After her, he said Ali and Erica’s names as well. Ryan then asked Will if he would be willing to vote Olivia out if she were to go up as the replacement nominee. Will said he would do it because it would be really smart to get her out right now. Ryan revealed that Olivia is #1 on his list of people who need to go. Ryan said he plans to arrange for Olivia to go home if one of the nominees are taken off of the block. Ryan thinks that Olivia is a bigger threat than Andrew and Hamza are since nobody will believe those two or be willing to work with them. When Ali spoke to Ryan, she did not give a name for a potential replacement nominee. Ryan asked her to think about it. The two discussed having a working relationship moving forward. Elsewhere, Derek, Jesse and Will talked about bringing Ryan in to make him feel as though he is a part of something. The three discussed that their alliance with each other will remain the priority above anything with Ryan.
12:00-1:00 PM: Ryan picked the have-nots for the week. He chose Derek, Erica, Hamza and Jesse to be have-nots for the week. Ryan brought up to Kaela that she and Derek together are viewed as a target, but he will not be a target as long as he is working with the two of them. Kaela said they can help each other in the game, as she and Derek can help in physical competitions while Ryan can help in the mental ones. Paras and Ryan then discussed a division between the two bedrooms. Paras asked Ryan if he has a relationship with Andrew. Ryan said his best case scenario is that Andrew or Hamza win the veto, then he can go after a backdoor target if enough people are on the same page. Ryan asked Paras which girl she would backdoor if she could choose one. Paras said Olivia is a very smart girl, though she hasn’t had an issue with her. Paras said Olivia, Ali and Erica would all be on her radar. She noted that Olivia is playing such a good game and she is smarter than she leads on. Paras said they cannot underestimate Olivia. She threw Erica’s name out there as the ringleader. Ryan said he thinks that Olivia is the most dangerous. Both agreed that people are threatened enough by Olivia to vote her out. Paras told Ryan that she would vote Olivia out. Paras said Erica would be a good second option because any time Johnny and Olivia have an opinion, it has come from Erica. When Olivia spoke to Ryan, she revealed that she would have nominated Andrew and Hamza. She said Maddy would have been the replacement nominee if one was needed. Olivia said Maddy is a threat to her. Ryan pointed out that Olivia has more to her than she is putting out there. There had been talks throughout the day about her being a law student. Olivia said she is in pre-law, and it is not something that she is hiding just because she didn’t tell everyone right when she got there. Next up was Johnny’s turn to speak to Ryan. He didn’t want to give a name to Ryan about who he could potentially backdoor. Ryan asked Johnny to think about it. They discussed that they don’t think there is an eight person alliance like you typically see at the start of the season. Johnny fears that it is happening without him. Johnny asked Ryan how he thinks that people see him in the house. Ryan said Johnny has been identified as somebody who is part of a tight three or four. Johnny denied it. Johnny asked who is involved with that. Ryan pointed out that Johnny talks to Erica a lot, then you have to look at who Erica is always with. Johnny said he hadn’t started talking to Olivia until two days ago. Ryan said people see Erica as the centrepiece to it all, collecting people such as Johnny. Ryan and Johnny then discussed working together moving forward.
1:00-2:00 PM: Ryan let Erica know that the word is she has been collecting people. Erica acted surprised by that. Ryan told her that Johnny and Olivia are two people whose names have came up in terms of people she is working with. When nominations were discussed, Erica pointed out that the two of them are both good with Andrew and with Hamza. Ryan said that those two might not be going up if not for 10 people telling him that they have to. Ryan then confirmed to Hamza that his plan is to nominate him next to Andrew. Hamza said he wants to go up so that he can play in the veto competition. Ryan said he would prefer for both Andrew and Hamza to be there at the end of the week. Hamza asked if Ryan would target Derek or Kaela. Ryan said they are not a threat. He acknowledged that they are two votes but said that every two people are two votes. Hamza made it clear that he doesn’t want Erica or Will to go up. Ryan said it wont be them. Ryan then filled Andrew in on his plan to try to find someone he can put up as a replacement nominee that would go home. He said he will use the veto if he has enough support to get that person out, plus he will throw the veto to Andrew if he gets the chance to do so.
2:00-3:00 PM: Hamza told Ryan he should have the meeting to call out Merron and Veronica before nominations. Hamza explained that it would give Ryan a chance to see if people are actually willing to have his back. Ryan liked the idea. Not long after, Ryan gathered everyone in the living room. Once everyone was there, he said he wants to address the elephant in the room. He told Merron and Veronica that he thinks they have been forced to lie to everyone since a lot of things are not adding up. Jesse spoke up to say that this is a collective feeling that everyone is having. Veronica said there are certain things that they cannot say without creating havoc for the entire house. Merron said they will have to trust them. While Veronica said she gets what they are saying, they had to come into the house a certain way or else the entire house may be punished. Veronica let everyone know that they will likely find out what happened eventually, but they cannot say. Veronica said they only had 30 seconds before they entered the house. Merron seconded that they are limited in terms of what they can say. Merton said he wants to be part of the group. Veronica said she is glad that everyone decided to approach them in this manner, respecting them and hearing them out. At the end of the conversation, Ryan said he no longer feels that there is a house divide. All of the houseguests had a group hug. In the bedroom, Erica worried that people are now going to start forming bonds with Veronica and Merron.
3:00-4:00 PM: Erica let Olivia know that Ryan is saying people are telling him that they think the two of them are working with Johnny. Erica observed that Johnny has been avoiding her ever since he found that information out. The two talked about potentially wanting to work with Ryan. Olivia said Ali doesn’t ever give her any information when she talks game with her, so she has stopped saying detailed things around her. Olivia said Erica is the only one who she tells everything to. Erica said she only tells everything to Olivia and Johnny. Olivia talked about keeping that trio as the foundation of any alliance that they build. She said Derek, Jesse and Kaela can be the next level, then they can also reach out to Paras and to Will.
5:00-6:00 PM: Feeds returned after being down for over an hour. Ryan spoke to Maddy up in the HoH room. He let her know that some people mentioned her name today. Maddy wanted to know who brought her up. Ryan said Olivia did, which is what Maddy expected. He later said that Derek did too. Maddy understood and figured that she could repair that relationship. Ryan said people view her as a floater at the moment. As for the plan for the week, Maddy said Olivia is the biggest threat to her game right now. Ryan informed Maddy that he plans to try to get six people to commit to voting Olivia out if either Andrew or Hamza win the veto. Maddy is on board with being one of the six votes.
6:00-7:00 PM: Ryan tried to get a feel for what Merron is thinking. Merron avoided any names. He pointed out that it’s too soon for him to do so when he has only been in the house for 24 hours. Merron said he doesn’t want to mess with the vibe of the house. Merron let Ryan know that he doesn’t want to be a disposable houseguest. He said he wants to find a solid group of people to work with and be loyal to. When asked about his vote, Merron said he wants to go with the majority for now. Meanwhile, Jesse told Derek he thinks that Ryan is a bigger game player than they thought. Jesse doesn’t think that they should approach Ryan about working with the three boys anymore. Jesse said he hopes that Ryan didn’t drop anything about them to Erica. Derek said Ryan let Kaela know that he wants to work with them but he thinks that the will become a threat if they start winning competitions. Derek brought up that they had said it would be the two of them, Kaela and Paras until the end, but they will probably want to keep Will if he is up against Paras. Jesse agreed. Jesse said the two of them, Paras, Kaela, Will and Olivia are six. Derek mentioned Johnny, saying that he and Kaela have Johnny. Jesse said that’s half the house, which is a good core group. They agreed to leave it at that. Jesse said he is going to distance himself from Maddy a bit. Derek asked Jesse how confident he is with Olivia. Jesse said he feels pretty good.
7:00-8:00 PM: Ryan told Veronica it’s clear that she is a superfan. He said he is too, so he doesn’t find it threatening. Ryan talked about thinking that Canada voted Merron and Veronica in, and they were able to watch video and listen to audio before entering the house. Veronica said she is able to tell Ryan one thing 100%. She then said they did not see the houseguests or know how many of them there were until they walked through the door yesterday.
9:00-10:00 PM: The nomination ceremony took place. Ryan nominated Andrew and Hamza for eviction. In the HoH room, Hamza told Merron and Ryan that he is not going to let anyone win the veto tomorrow. He said it is his veto, and he will do whatever it takes to win. While most of the houseguests played beer pong, Andrew and Hamza chatted upstairs. Andrew said Hamza is the only person that he trusts. The two discussed that they have to win HoH. Hamza said he already knows who he is putting up. He said his mind will not change unless those people end up being the ones to save them this week. Later, Hamza mentioned that they have to cut the Derek and Kaela showmance.
12:00-1:00 AM: Hamza and Maddy had a quick chat. Maddy talked about nobody really approaching her for game discussions. Hamza said he has always wanted to include her but he has thought that she is with Ali, Kaela, and Olivia’s side. Maddy said she understands. Hamza said he is hoping that once he wins the veto, and somebody else goes up, they can show Canada that they are there to play. Maddy said she is very excited to see what happens after the veto competition. In the living room, Ali and Jesse discussed that Veronica should be the next to go if Andrew leaves this week. They agreed that Hamza is less of a threat since he has nobody. It was discussed that both Merron and Veronica need to be nominated in case they got some kind of power when they entered the house. Afterwards, Jesse told Olivia about the potential plan to nominate Merron and Veronica next week.
