Big Brother 20 Day 32 - Faysal wins the Power of Veto
July 21, 2018
10:00-11:00 AM: Players were picked for the veto competition. The veto players are Sam, Haleigh, Kaitlyn, Faysal, JC and Rockstar. Rachel will be the host. Haleigh picked Faysal with houseguest’s choice. Faysal spoke to Rachel about what he should do. Rachel suggested that Faysal should not try to win, as it would put him in a position where he has to choose between the two girls. Faysal said he is worried that he will be the replacement nominee if he doesn’t win. He also pointed out that he will have to choose between them if nominations stay the same anyway. Rachel said at that point he could just go along with what the house is doing. Kaitlyn told Faysal that all that went through her head when Haleigh picked him is that he told Haleigh he would use the veto on her just like he said to her. Kaitlyn said if Faysal doesn’t save her, she doesn’t think that she will be able to look at him. Kaitlyn thinks that Faysal is going to throw the competition. He said he doesn’t want to be in the position to choose between the two but he also doesn’t want to be the replacement nominee. In the storage room, Faysal talked to Bayleigh about being in a bad situation. Bayleigh pointed out that he wanted to be in that situation. Faysal said he might be the replacement nominee if not. She asked if he wants her to be it instead. Faysal said he thought that she and Sam were good. Bayleigh still wasn’t convinced that she wouldn’t go up based on the options that would be left to choose from. Faysal and Tyler then talked about how to go about dealing with the apparent girls alliance. They wondered if it would be good to expose it, or if they should keep that information to themselves. Tyler said he needs Faysal or JC to win the veto because he is not sold that Sam is not about the girls alliance. Tyler doesn’t think that Sam will nominate them if they have a talk with her. Faysal said they have to get past this week without going up, then win HoH and put a couple more girls on the block since they are so comfortable right now.
11:00-12:00 PM: Kaitlyn told Faysal she cannot believe that he told Haleigh to pick him. Kaitlyn asked what is wrong with Faysal considering he told Haleigh the same thing as he told her. Faysal asked what she wants him to do. She said to not lie and make her feel like she is the one. Kaitlyn asked if Faysal is going to save her. He didn’t give a direct answer, instead telling her that he already told her but she is still coming at him. Faysal said before she can start demanding things, he needs some answers. Kaitlyn swore that she doesn’t know anything more than what she has told him. Faysal said there are so many sides to this since Kaitlyn will want him to take her off, Haleigh will want him to take her off, and then Bayleigh and Rockstar will want the nominations to be left the same. Kaitlyn said someone from their side is going home either way, so he should want to save his #1 and let Bayleigh or Rockstar go home. After more back and forth, Kaitlyn eventually told Faysal that she supports whatever decision he makes.
12:00-1:00 PM: Kaitlyn spoke to JC about how the girls on the other side will never forget what she did for them in week two by getting Swaggy out. JC said that was one of her best moves. Kaitlyn said she doesn’t think that this is the end for her. She said there is justice still to be served, so she will be going after Brett and Sam if she stays. Kaitlyn overheard Bayleigh and Rockstar talking about how her move against Swaggy changed the trajectory of the game. She later questioned Rockstar about it. Kaitlyn said she was hurt. Rockstar asked if she is hurt about changing the trajectory of the game in favour of a dickhead who called her out. Kaitlyn said she is not proud of that part but she is proud of herself for sticking up for herself. Rockstar said her move was not best for the group as a whole, which is the same thing she has said to her face in the past. Rockstar commented on Kaitlyn not having one on ones with her, and not taking what she thought into consideration during her HoH week. Kaitlyn explained that it’s not just her, and she didn’t have one on ones. Rockstar discussed that she shouldn’t have place a higher expectation on Kaitlyn as an intuitive person that she would understand things faster. Kaitlyn said she was the first one to see through Brett since what he did affected her first. Kaitlyn said Brett and Sam are the biggest threats in the house. Rockstar threw Tyler’s name out there too. Kaitlyn agreed but said Brett and Sam are bigger threats. Kaitlyn expressed frustration that she can’t even talk to Bayleigh or Rockstar about their votes since they are upset about Swaggy leaving. Rockstar said that’s not true. She also pointed out that she might end up on the block this week depending on what happens with the veto.
1:00-2:00 PM: In the bathroom, Haleigh quickly told Brett about a theory that Kaitlyn has. She said Kaitlyn believes that Sam had a power to flip two votes, and Brett called Rockstar out in order to ensure that she would vote him out. Brett asked if she realizes how silly that sounds. Haleigh said she is just letting Brett know what is being said. Brett said everyone will feel a little bit silly when the power is used. Brett told Angela about his conversation with Haleigh. He said people think that he and Sam planned this all together in order to cover up Sam’s power usage. Angela said the app is going to be used this week. Angela said she thinks the app gets used automatically this week. Angela told Brett to not say a word. Brett said it’s a little frustrating that she wouldn’t have used it on Winston last week then. Angela said Kaycee told her this information. Angela agreed it’s annoying that Sam could have saved Winston but didn’t. In the storage room, JC told Tyler he is concerned about Brett. He talked about Brett continuing to lie about what Rockstar said, even to his allies. Tyler said Brett is fine. JC said he doesn’t know what kind of game Brett is playing, but he knows what every other person is doing. Faysal then stopped by. Once Tyler left, JC said he is not going to use the veto if he wins it. JC explained that even though Rockstar would go up, he doesn’t want to risk Faysal going up. JC asked who Faysal is voting out, since Kaitlyn told him that he is keeping her. Faysal said he has to tell her that but JC knows what he is really doing. He asked that JC not tell anyone else.
2:00-3:00 PM: Kaitlyn continued to ask Faysal why he cannot say that he would save her even though he looked her in the eye yesterday to say that he would. Kaitlyn cried and said she wants to go home. Faysal said he doesn’t know how he is supposed to feel either. He clarified that he isn’t saying he wont save her. Kaitlyn said she would always save Faysal if she had the opportunity to. Faysal asked what would happen if he ended up on the block next to Tyler. While Kaitlyn insisted that she would save him over Tyler, Faysal said he has no way of knowing that. Kaitlyn mentioned not knowing that Haleigh is a Tyler for Faysal, or that they are so close that he would choose Haleigh over her. Faysal again said that he didn’t say that. Kaitlyn said she is going to have an issue with him not saying he would save her, if she ends up winning the veto herself. Faysal commented on how Kaitlyn holds a grudge for every little thing. Kaitlyn said their friendship will be destroyed if he can’t promise that he will save her.
3:00-4:00 PM: Faysal and Kaitlyn continued their talk. Faysal feels as though Kaitlyn leaves him in the dark on certain things. Kaitlyn said she has nothing to hide and she has played such an authentic game. Kaitlyn asked why Faysal cannot tell her that he will save her. Faysal explained that something could change in between now and then. Kaitlyn didn’t understand what could change. She told him that he should mean it if he looks her in the eye and said he will save her, as if he is some superhero. Kaitlyn said she is sick of him lying to her. Faysal pointed out that she lied to him as well. Kaitlyn admitted to having kept him in the dark about something. Faysal said it has been multiple things. Up in the HoH room, Brett let Sam know that the last story is that the two of them worked together, and Sam used her power to flip votes. Brett said Kaitlyn and Rockstar are the ones behind that theory. Feeds went down at 3:28 for the veto competition.
5:00-6:00 PM: Feeds returned at 5:42 following the veto competition. Faysal won the Power of Veto. Haleigh and Kaitlyn celebrated that they will not be on the block against each other now. Haleigh said they are fine since they have to votes to keep whoever stays on the block. Kaitlyn said it’s not guaranteed since Bayleigh or Rockstar could be nominated. Haleigh said she doesn’t want anyone convincing Faysal not to use the veto. Kaitlyn thinks it would be weird if he doesn’t use it. In the bathroom, Faysal asked Rockstar what she would have done had she won. Rockstar said she would have pitched Brett as the replacement nominee. Faysal doesn’t think that Sam will give him a clear answer as to who the replacement nominee will be. If he cannot get that, Rockstar suggested not using the veto. Elsewhere, JC told Bayleigh that Rockstar is going to try to get Brett nominated. He said Sam will not do that. JC said Faysal cannot use the veto. He claims that he will campaign for Haleigh when the nominations are locked in. Bayleigh agreed with him.
6:00-7:00 PM: Bayleigh said she doesn’t want Faysal to be crying over this. Haleigh said if that’s how he feels, he doesn’t have to use the veto. JC said he is positive that she will stay if the nominations remain the same. Bayleigh added that it would be unanimous. JC spoke to Haleigh in the storage room. He told her he wouldn’t be having this conversation unless he was completely positive that she would be safe. He let her know that he doesn’t think the veto should be used. Haleigh questioned why she has to be the one on the block. JC said he doesn’t know why Sam nominated her but she is not going to go home on Thursday. JC brought up that Rockstar will probably go up and go home if the nominations are changed, meaning that they lose a number. Haleigh worried that Tyler would not vote for her, then whoever Tyler is working with wont vote for her either. JC assured Haleigh that Tyler will vote for her. Kaitlyn told Kaycee, Rachel and Tyler that Bayleigh and Rockstar in Faysal’s ear not to use the veto, but he has been her best friend since Day 1. Kaitlyn said she offered Faysal a deal in which she would throw him the veto in exchange for him using it on her, and he said “deal”. In the storage room, JC told Tyler that they cannot have the veto used. Tyler said Rockstar will go up even if it is. JC stressed that Kaitlyn has to go home this week. He said Rockstar is not a threat whereas Kaitlyn finishes second in every competition. Tyler clarified that he is not trying to protect Kaitlyn, but he said he doesn’t want Haleigh knowing that he is against Kaitlyn just yet. He mentioned that Haleigh, JC and himself can meet up to talk at some point.
7:00-8:00 PM: Kaitlyn told Faysal that if she and Haleigh are his best friends, he should be concerned about them over anyone else. Kaitlyn pointed out that Haleigh will stay over anyone but she will not. Kaitlyn claimed to have thrown the veto competition to Faysal. She said she knows what he is going to do. Faysal said the position he is in is 10 times worse than the one Kaitlyn was in during her HoH week. Faysal asked if Kaitlyn really doesn’t think that she will stay. Kaitlyn said no. She then repeatedly asked if Faysal had also promised Haleigh that he would use the veto on her. Faysal avoided answering the question. He said he has to find a way to save both of them. When Kaitlyn continued to press Faysal for answer, he eventually said he will use it on Kaitlyn if that is best, but he will use it on Haleigh if that is best. Kaitlyn acted shocked, saying she really thought that she was his #1. She again brought up that she threw the competition to him so that they could both be safe. Faysal argued that she didn’t, seeing as she got the final question correct. Kaitlyn said she feels stupid for being under the impression that it was the two of them until the end. Kaitlyn asked why Faysal would look her in the eyes to say he would save her if he didn’t mean it. Faysal explained that he is closest to Kaitlyn but he is also close to Haleigh, so it’s not a no brainer. He added that he felt that way in the moment. He suggested that it’s better that he is being honest rather than telling her he will use it when he doesn’t know. Kaitlyn then said she is going to ask to go home. She got up and went to the diary room. Faysal headed upstairs to talk to Bayleigh. She told him that Kaitlyn was pissed he didn’t throw the competition to her. Faysal asked what Haleigh has been saying. Bayleigh explained that she said she gets why he wouldn’t want to use it, but she is frustrated since he said that he would use it on her. Bayleigh is worried that she may go on the block, but she said to use the veto on Haleigh if Sam confirms that she will not be the replacement nominee. Bayleigh told Faysal she doesn’t know what he sees in Kaitlyn, considering she has left him in the dark, done him wrong all game, and embarrassed him. Bayleigh said Kaitlyn does not have Faysal’s best interest. He asked if Haleigh does. Bayleigh said she doesn’t know if she does either, and he deserves better than both of them. Bayleigh then revealed that Kaitlyn said she would choose Tyler over Faysal.
8:00-9:00 PM: Haleigh told Faysal she will probably be fine if she is up next to Kaitlyn, but she wont forget that he had a very in-depth conversation with her in which he asked her to pick him to play. Faysal said that’s why he is going to use the veto. He asked Haleigh to trust him and she will see come Monday. Faysal said Haleigh has to ride with him now. Haleigh said okay. Haleigh let Faysal know that there is a high possibility of Kaitlyn leaving if she stays on the block. She asked if he is okay with that. Faysal said he isn’t ready for Haleigh to go home. Faysal asked Haleigh to keep it between them that he is going to use the veto on her. He added that she better remember this. Haleigh said she would.
9:00-10:00 PM: Faysal talked to Tyler about the predicament that he is in. Tyler said Kaitlyn is expecting him to use the veto on her. Faysal said he has been rocking with her since the start, but he is also close to Haleigh and she picked him to compete. Faysal said the best case scenario is that he uses the veto on one and the other stays. What he is worried about is that whoever he doesn’t use the veto on will be mad at him and therefore will come after him. Tyler advised Faysal to think about who would stay next to anyone. He said they can make it happen that the replacement nominee leaves. Tyler suggested that Faysal use the veto. Faysal wanted to know tho the replacement nominee would be. Tyler said he doesn’t think that Sam wants to say anything until the veto is used. Tyler headed to the HoH room to let Sam know that Faysal is likely using the veto. Sam asked who he is going to use it on. Tyler said he doesn’t know. Sam said she isn’t going to tell anyone who she is nominating until she puts them on the block, and then she will tell them about the power. Tyler asked if it’s still Rockstar. Sam said she isn’t going to tell Tyler either. Sam made it clear that she wants Kaitlyn to leave. She asked who would be an equivalent to Kaitlyn but more likely to stay. Tyler said he doesn’t know. Sam said it’s not Rockstar. Sam asked who Tyler would nominate. He said Rockstar. Sam asked who Tyler would miss the least if they take Haleigh, Kaitlyn and Rockstar out of the equation. Tyler said Bayleigh and Rachel would be the next two for him. Sam said she knows what she is going to do but she doesn’t want to say. Tyler brought put that Sam told people that Rockstar would be the replacement nominee. She said she only told him that and Rachel that. Tyler said he wouldn’t want Rachel feeling like she lied to her, so have a conversation with her. Bayleigh came into the HoH room. She was crying. Bayleigh explained that she cannot even express herself without people being terrified. She said she is giving up. Sam told her not to. Bayleigh said Sam has no idea how much she has been holding her tongue and being respectful, yet nobody has been respectful to her. Sam told Bayleigh she allowed to pop off if she wants to. Bayleigh asked what good that would do. She mentioned that she is already the angry black woman, as that’s what she has been labelled as. Bayleigh said there is no good in being nice. Sam told Bayleigh that being herself is beautiful and she is doing a great job. Sam said people don’t deserve to hang out with her if they take her the wrong way. Bayleigh said Sam is now speaking her language.
10:00-11:00 PM: Kaitlyn continue to work on Faysal in hope of getting him to use the veto on her. She argued that she is more at risk than Haleigh is. Faysal brought up Kaitlyn leaving him in the dark when she backdoored Swaggy. While he said he is likely closer to Kaitlyn than to Haleigh, Faysal said Haleigh didn’t backdoor Swaggy on him. Kaitlyn said he is choosing Swaggy over her by saying that, which means he is holding a grudge. Faysal replied by saying that Kaitlyn held a grudge due to what Swaggy said. Kaitlyn said it was one of the most empowering moments of her life to get Swaggy out. Faysal again mentioned that Kaitlyn didn’t even let him know that she was going to nominate Swaggy. Kaitlyn said she thought the two of them were in this until the end together. Faysal said they still can be but she made it much harder by taking out his other best friend. Kaitlyn told Faysal she helped him out by taking Swaggy out, because they would have been targeted as a duo. Kaitlyn talked about her family really needing the money. She said they are not doing well, which Faysal said she can’t use since she didn’t listen when Swaggy tried using the same thing with her. Kaitlyn thought it was different since she is telling everything but Swaggy only gave her that to go off of. Faysal asked Kaitlyn where they will stand if he uses the veto on Haleigh and Kaitlyn somehow stays. Kaitlyn said she will eventually forgive him. Faysal admitted he is worried because she is emotional and he saw how she handled things with Swaggy.
11:00-12:00 AM: Tyler told Angela and Brett a bit about his conversation with Sam. He said Sam wants Kaitlyn out this week. He admitted to being nervous that someone other than Rockstar will be nominated. Angela said she would prefer to get Rockstar out over Kaitlyn, but having Kaitlyn go isn’t the worst either. Brett said the same. Tyler said that Rockstar wont be able to get Brett out even if she tries to, but the benefit to having Kaitlyn stay is she would be going at the other side. He doesn’t think that JC understands that.
12:00-1:00 AM: Kaitlyn spoke to Faysal once again, reiterating that Bayleigh and Rockstar will be sending her home if he doesn’t use the veto on her. Kaitlyn said the only way for both her and Haleigh to stay is if the veto is used on her. Faysal said it’s a really hard situation to be in. He asked if Kaitlyn understands why it’s a tough decision, or if she feels entitled 100%. Kaitlyn said she kind of thought that it was a given since he is her best friend. Faysal listed off the things that make him question her, such as backdooring Swaggy, flipping her vote in week one, and going off on Brett last week after he told her not to do it. Kaitlyn said she only found out about the week one vote 30 minutes before. Faysal said that’s an excuse. Kaitlyn then said she was scared. Faysal said that’s not a good answer. He pointed out that the game is scary. Kaitlyn told him to stop yelling at her. On the other hand, Faysal said Haleigh hasn’t done anything to him. For that reason, he said this decision is not a given.
1:00-2:00 AM: Bayleigh and JC discussed that they want Faysal to be okay. JC suggested that Faysal will make himself a target if he uses the veto, because the whole house is on board with something for the first time this season. JC said he felt relieved after Faysal won the veto, then he walks into the house to all of this drama including Faysal needing the room by himself to think things over. JC said the only way he can work with Faysal is if he shuts up, sits down, and listens to him. JC admitted that he wants to be his boss. JC brought up that people might boo Kaitlyn if she is evicted on Thursday. Bayleigh said she hopes so. She said she would be ecstatic. JC expects a unanimous vote, or at least a 9-1 vote.
3:00-4:00 AM: Haleigh told Faysal she doesn’t want him to feel like he has to use it, because she doesn’t want him to have to be in that position. Faysal said he told her that if she was ever on the block he was going to save her. Faysal added that it’s going to kill Kaitlyn. Haleigh said she doesn’t want Faysal thinking that she would think about him in a different way if he doesn’t use the veto. Haleigh said she would be a little upset but she would probably get over and still be okay with him. Faysal said Kaitlyn feels as though she is going home no matter what if he uses the veto on Haleigh, and Haleigh would stay no matter what if he uses it on her. Haleigh said that is not true, so it’s not a good point. Haleigh said there are no guarantees in this game. Faysal said it will be hard on Monday but he already told her what he is going to do. Faysal mentioned that it’s about to get real tough in this game, so he needs her to be the one no questions asked. Haleigh said she is fine with that.
4:00-5:00 AM: Faysal told Haleigh that Monday is going to be really hard on him. Faysal thinks that Kaitlyn is going to lose it. Haleigh thinks that Kaitlyn will not talk to him for a while, and she cannot even imagine what she is going to say. Haleigh expects Kaitlyn to freak out and then turn to Brett since she doesn’t feel welcomed by Bayleigh and Rockstar.
5:00-6:00 AM: Sam told Faysal she is not going to ask him to do anything. She said it’s totally up to him. She said he has to be able to make up his own mind and listen to his gut. Sam suggested that it’s good practice since he might be in her position next week.
