Big Brother 23 Day 18 - Christian wins the Power of Veto
July 24, 2021
8:59 AM: Feeds went down for the veto player pick.
9:22 AM: Feeds returned. The veto players are Xavier, Brent, Britini, Christian, Derek F and Whitney.
9:53 AM: Whitney mentioned hearing that Xavier said he could potentially use the veto on Britini. She asked if he would rather she take her off or not use it if she wins. Xavier asked what kind of position that would put her in if she chooses not to use the veto on her teammate Brent. Whitney said she doesn’t care what Brent thinks. Xavier said he didn’t make any promises to Britini, only saying that he would consider it. Whitney said she wouldn’t use it then. Xavier said Whitney could throw it to himself or Christian if Brent is out of the competition.
9:58 AM: Britini said she feels as though the veto selections went well. Xavier told her to gun for it. Britini asked if Whitney said she would throw it. Xavier said if Brent goes out she won’t have incentive to go for it. Britini asked if there is still a chance that Xavier would use the veto on her. Xavier said he doesn’t want to make any promises but it is something that he is considering. Xavier told Britini that they need to make sure Brent doesn’t win. If he does, Xavier said he would put someone next to Britini that is a bigger threat than she is.
10:05 AM: Brent told Xavier that the vote will show if they are still loyal to The Radicals. He said that the risk outweighs the reward in this situation. He suggested that two girls from the other side should be on the block. Brent said there is no way in hell that he is the pawn, and he would like for Xavier to say it. Xavier said he was the pawn when he made the nominations and he does not see why that has to change. Brent said everyone thought that he was safe so now they are thinking if he isn’t safe, it could happen to them.
10:30 AM: Derek F told Xavier that he did not want Whitney to get picked. He worried that she would use it on Brent. Xavier said he is not convinced that she would. Derek said he also wants her to remain a backup option for this week. Derek let Xavier know that he will have to use the veto on Britini if he wins, which Xavier understood.
10:42 AM: Britini told Azah that everyone is going to quiver if she wins HoH, since she has the right to put up anyone she wants. Britini said people come up to her and say they are so sorry but none of them care or else they would go up on the block for her.
10:50 AM: Derek F told Britini he let Xavier know that he will be using the veto on her if he wins it. Britini said Kyland mentioned possibly working with their team. Britini said she would have to have a conversation with Tiffany because she still has questions about how the Wildcard Competition went down. Looking ahead to next week, Britini said Xavier will compete for safety if she wins HoH. If he wins, she said she would look at him and say she can’t come for him but she will weaken him by making his team take a big hit. Britini said her first option is nominating Christian and Xavier.
10:58 AM: Xavier told Azah that his replacement nominee, if one is needed, would likely be someone that makes sure Britini stays. Azah asked if it is her or Derek F. Xavier said no. Xavier told Azah that Brent feels as though she has been treating him some type of way. Azah admitted that she has. She said that she doesn’t talk to Brent since he lies about her and also lies about Britini.
11:07 AM: Azah told Derek F she feels as though the Aces and the Queens are working together. She thinks that putting Christian and Whitney on the block next to each other would show who is working with who.
11:54 AM: Christian told Britini he is glad that she still trusts him even though his teammate did this to her. Christian said he had no idea. He pointed out that the easy excuse for nominating her is that. She has already been on the block. Britini said that was her fear and it happened. Britini asked Christian about using the veto on her. Christian said he would have to talk to Xavier about it but he would consider using it if he felt as though Britini was in danger.
12:02 PM: Britini asked Brent if he ever heard her name associated with the girls alliance. Brent said she is a girl and it was an all girls alliance, so yes. She asked if he heard her name associated in any other way. Brent said Frenchie told him that she may have been the leader of it. Britini said she was not even present when it was created.
12:19 PM: Xavier checked in with Hannah, asking her how Brent is doing. Hannah said he is doing well and his ego is so big that he feels solid in his position in the house. Hannah said Brent continues to talk about Azah and question why she is not on the block. Xavier said he told Brent that he has a good personal relationship with her. Hannah said Brent was essentially asking why Xavier is making it a race thing. Xavier said that’s a bold statement.
12:28 PM: Brent told Derek X he thinks that Whitney would use the veto on him and also that he could persuade Derek F to do the same. Derek X said he would take Britini down. Brent disagreed, saying that Derek F is annoyed that people are targeting the men.
3:20 PM: Feeds went down for the veto competition.
5:40 PM: Feeds returned. Christian won the Power of Veto.
6:02 PM: Alyssa asked Xavier if he wants the nominations to stay the same. He said that he more than likely does.
6:05 PM: Alyssa asked Christian if he plans to talk to people. Christian didn’t think that he has to talk to anyone other than the nominees. Xavier agreed. Xavier said he plans to have talks with the teams but not until tomorrow. Christian said he already told both nominees that he would have to talk to Xavier before making a decision.
6:09 PM: Britini told Azah and Derek F that Xavier said there was a possibility he would use the veto on her. She also said Christian claimed that he would if she had any doubt. Britini said she plans to talk to Xavier to say she sat on the block as the fake target, so someone else can go up for the rest of the week. Britini suggested that someone from Brent’s team would be the best option to go up. She also wants to ask Xavier to apologize for his speech because it made her look horrible.
6:14 PM: Britini asked for Azah’s help in talking to Xavier. She wants Azah to point out that the speech was all false and made Britini look bad. Azah said she does not want to go in there and tell Xavier what he has to do. Azah said Xavier seems like the type to stick to his plan once his mind is made up. Azah said she is worried that Britini may make herself a bigger target if she isn’t careful about what she says.
6:24 PM: Up in the HoH room, Xavier was thinking out loud. He said Christian just has to say there is a reason why these nominations were made and in order to avoid having him get more blood on his hands, he is choosing not to use the Power of Veto.
6:29 PM: Xavier told Christian he thinks that it would be best to keep things simple and say he is going to trust his team member’s decision when it comes to nominations. Christian agreed that a simple approach to it would be best.
7:07 PM: Alyssa told Xavier that it was really smart of him to put Britini up. She said that she would rather have the rest of the Aces fighting for them next week than have the Jokers on their side. Xavier said the Jokers might be upset but the other teams are all fine with it.
7:15 PM: Alyssa, Christian and Sarah Beth discussed their ideal eviction order. Alyssa said she thinks that it should be Whitney, Britini and then Hannah. Christian said he trusts Britini more than Hannah. Sarah Beth agreed. Alyssa then said her order would be Whitney, Hannah, Britini, Azah and Derek F.
7:34 PM: Alyssa and Christian caught Xavier up on the eviction order that they had talked about. They mentioned nominating Hannah and Whitney next week with Azah being the pawn if someone uses the veto. It was discussed that Britini deserves a week off from being a pawn.
7:39 PM: Britini spoke to Derek X about her thoughts on the veto being used. Derek said that putting someone up from another team would only add to the blood on Xavier’s hands. Derek said that someone from his team could go up but that would cause them to lose trust in Xavier. Britini said she will tell Xavier that she doesn’t care what he does but she wants everyone to know that his speech was fake. Derek said everyone in the house already knows that. Derek encouraged Britini to use the fact that people empathize with her to her advantage by getting information from them.
9:26 PM: Hannah told Derek X and Whitney that Claire and Tiffany seem to be on the same page that someone from the Kings needs to go in order for them to work together and have the numbers. Derek said he thinks that’s what needs to be done. Whitney said the Jokers would be the perfect team to take the shot. Derek said that he would throw it to them. Hannah said that she would even throw it to the Queens. Derek said that Alyssa has a lot of people on her side. The girls agreed that Alyssa leaving would make the Kings not so close. The Aces believe that the Jokers would be willing to put Alyssa and Christian up.
9:43 PM: Brent told his teammates he hopes that Xavier doesn’t have Christian use the veto on Britini in order to put Derek X up. Brent said that is the logical move and what he would do. Brent said he tried to put the narrative in Alyssa’s head that Xavier will put her and Christian up the first chance that he gets. Brent said he is golden as long as the nominations are kept the same. He suggested that they sell that they want to keep The Radicals alive so that Derek does not go on the block. Hannah said they will need to make sure the votes are solidified throughout the week because they cannot afford to lose a number going into jury.
10:04 PM: Derek X asked Hannah if they are making the wrong decision letting Brent go. Hannah said Brent is bad for her game because he speaks for her, and she does not want his decisions and actions to reflect on her. Hannah added that she cannot stand Brent on a personal level and she cannot handle it for much longer. Hannah said it affects her mood in the house because she is always uncomfortable. Derek agreed that letting Brent go is best for their mental health. Hannah thinks that letting Brent go will bring the Queens closer to them. Derek wondered if Claire and Tiffany trust Whitney. Hannah thinks so after a conversation that they had together. Derek still wasn’t sure as he noted that Tiffany is lying well when it comes to Brent.
11:38 PM: Claire and Tiffany wondered if Derek X and Hannah are making a final two. Claire said they are definitely trying to work together. Tiffany thinks that Hannah is telling Derek X everything. Tiffany said it’s cool with her because she likes both Derek X and Hannah but she thinks they need to be kept at the bottom due to how close they are. Claire said Derek wouldn’t tell her about the Kings, Queens and Ace. Tiffany said you don’t know that.
12:01 AM: Azah told Tiffany that the nominations made no sense. Azah said Brent thinks that he is going home. Tiffany disagreed. She said he is chill because he believes that he has the votes. Tiffany explained he thinks he has the Aces and the Queens. Azah said if somebody did to her what they did to him, she would have seen right through it. Azah said she has accepted it that she plays differently.
12:35 AM: Tiffany told Kyland and Xavier that she has an issue because Azah will never vote for her. Tiffany said it’s at the point where she thinks that Azah doesn’t even like her. Tiffany explained to Xavier that it started yesterday when Azah checked her for how she played the Wildcard Competition. Tiffany said she heard that Azah was mad when she was watching the comp. Xavier said she was emotional about the move. Tiffany said she is emotional about everything and it’s affecting her now because she started checking her about things. Xavier said there should be no hostility between any of them in the Cookout since they are all on the same page. Tiffany said she cannot say anything to Azah because she takes her playing the game as it being personal. Tiffany added that Azah has no respect for her game and will never vote for her.
1:39 AM: Derek X asked Kyland if Tiffany now trusts Whitney, cause Hannah said they had a conversation. Kyland said he doesn’t want to speak for Tiffany but he is closer to Tiffany than Whitney is, and he told him how he feels. The two discussed that they are thinking of throwing HoH again. Kyland said he doesn’t want to take a shot at Britini or Whitney. Derek suggested that Whitney would be a number for them right now, as she is someone who may take a shot at the Kings. Kyland said that’s fine with him.
1:49 AM: Britini told Azah and Derek F that this sucks. She said she talked to Tiffany and felt like it was a very passive conversation in a sense that she didn’t want to answer as to what happened in yesterday’s competition. Azah told Britini that she cannot keep beating herself up about past competitions. Derek told her that they are going to get through this week. Britini cried about how she wants to come off of the block but she can’t. Derek said he hates seeing her cry and it makes him want to go flip but he is trying his best not to blow up their games. Derek encouraged her to remember this feeling for when she wins HoH. Derek said they know that Britini is not the target. Britini said she knows that too.
