Big Brother 23 Day 30 - Whitney is evicted; Derek X wins HoH
August 5, 2021
5:31 PM: By a vote of 10-0, Whitney was evicted from the Big Brother house.
5:50 PM: Julie asked the houseguests to gather in the living room. She let them know that the team twist is over as is the Wildcard Competition.
5:58 PM: The HoH competition got underway. It is a wall comp in which the last houseguest standing will become the new HoH.
6:09 PM: Derek F was eliminated from the competition.
6:29 PM: Claire was eliminated from the competition.
6:41 PM: Hannah and Sarah Beth were eliminated from the competition.
6:57 PM: Kyland was eliminated from the competition.
7:04 PM: Britini was eliminated from the competition.
7:15 PM: Azah was eliminated from the competition.
7:16 PM: Tiffany was eliminated from the competition.
7:20 PM: Alyssa was eliminated from the HoH competition. Prior to jumping, Alyssa asked if Derek X won’t put her up. He promised that he would not.
7:23 PM: Xavier was eliminated from the HoH competition. Derek X is the new HoH. Prior to jumping off of the wall, Xavier asked Derek is he would keep him off of the block. Derek promised that he would not nominate Xavier.
7:41 PM: Derek F told Xavier that Derek X might put them on the block. He then said maybe not Xavier but him. Xavier asked who Derek would go up next to that he would go home against. Derek said he doesn’t know but he is not trying to go on the block. Xavier said he doesn’t think that Derek X is after him but he will try to sway the talks in another direction if his name does come up.
7:48 PM: Derek X told Hannah that Alyssa and Xavier will not be hitting the block since he agreed to those two things while on the wall. Derek said that after they hit the ground, Xavier told him that he does not want the Kings to go up. Kyland joined Derek X and Hannah. They celebrated that they made it to jury.
7:51 PM: Derek X let Kyland know that Xavier said he didn’t want any of the Kings to go up, but he did not say it until after they had fallen. Derek said that he did not agree to it. Kyland suggested that they stick to what they have talked about and then see how things play out with the veto before making a decision. Kyland said that if Christian wins the veto, one of the Jokers can go. When Derek X asked which two Jokers Kyland would nominate, he said Azah and Britini.
7:57 PM: Derek F checked in with Derek X. Derek X told him that he is good. Derek F asked if he is sure. Derek X told him not to sweat it.
7:58 PM: Alyssa told Christian and Xavier that Derek X was trying to get safety for Hannah from her when they were up on the wall. Alyssa questioned why he is trying to keep Hannah safe when she is not in the alliance. Xavier said he told Derek X afterwards that he is not putting up any of the Kings, and Derek said “deal”. Alyssa said Derek told her that she will not see the block.
8:02 PM: Azah told Derek X that she is so happy for him. She said he can do whatever he wants. Derek said he told Alyssa and Xavier that he would not put them up. Azah said she doesn’t even care if Derek says that he is putting her up.
8:08 PM: Alyssa and Sarah Beth discussed that they feel good. Alyssa said that this may be better since she is not worried about Derek X at all. Sarah Beth agreed. Alyssa wondered how the Royal Flush would be able to meet up without Hannah. Sarah Beth agreed that it may be difficult since Hannah stays up late.
8:11 PM: Alyssa let Derek X know that she is so proud of him. Hannah told Alyssa that she killed it and she thought that it would come down to Alyssa or Tiffany as they were the most solid throughout the competition. Alyssa said this was the best case scenario. Hannah pointed out that Alyssa has made it to jury. Alyssa clarified that she was not upset about Derek winning but rather she was pissed at herself. Derek said she is good.
8:16 PM: Hannah told Derek X that the Kings were having a meeting and she overheard one of them say “one of us is going on the block or going home”. Hannah said that they are scrambling.
8:21 PM: Azah told Britini and Claire that even if Derek X tells her that she is going up as a pawn, she is okay with that. She said she would know that she is going up next to someone who is definitely going home. Azah asked that that stay between them. Claire said she thinks that Derek’s end game is getting a King out. Britini asked if there is any way that she will hit the block. Azah and Claire said they don’t know. Britini said she is going to remind him that he said he would not put her up.
8:37 PM: Alyssa told Xavier that she let Derek X know Xavier would drop if he did. Alyssa thinks he was trying to get safety for Hannah so he held on. Alyssa said that she probably would have done the same thing. Xavier said he would have preferred Alyssa winning but this is not the worst case scenario. Xavier pointed out that if none of them go on the block this week and didn’t have to add to their resume, it would be fantastic. He also said this helps Christian since Derek X will be viewed as an even bigger threat after winning.
8:50 PM: Derek F told Hannah that she is in charge this week. He said that she is going to be protecting them this week. Derek said he would get rid of Alyssa and Sarah Beth if he were Derek X. He suggested telling Derek X that Sarah Beth is coming after her. Hannah said he already knows that. Derek said he should get rid of a girl unless he doesn’t feel good with Christian. Derek told Hannah that he either needs to break up the showmance or take out Sarah Beth.
8:56 PM: Tiffany asked Claire if she thinks that Derek X will nominate Alyssa and Christian. Tiffany said that it may be a Joker and a King because he thinks that Alyssa will come to him if Christian goes. Claire said she doesn’t think that Christian would be an initial nominee. She thinks that it might be a Joker next to Sarah Beth.
8:59 PM: Tiffany brought up Alyssa seeming to be upset about losing. Sarah Beth said Alyssa feels bad that she is the only one of the Kings not to win anything. She also said Alyssa had told Derek X that he and Hannah would be safe but he did not drop. Sarah Beth said she doesn’t think that he will go against anyone in the alliance, so they should be good and make it to jury.
9:32 PM: Christian told Alyssa that they are going to stay for another week. She said that they made it to jury. She added that this kind of better since they wont have to piss off the Jokers. Christian said he would have preferred Xavier winning because he has always worried about Derek. Alyssa said Derek is not going to take him out this week. Christian hopes to play in the veto. He said he is going for every veto that he can. Alyssa suggested asking Britini to pick him if she goes on the block. Alyssa thinks that Britini and Derek F will be nominated.
9:51 PM: Kyland told Hannah that the six from the Cookout have made it to jury since Derek would not put two of them up together. Kyland thinks that two Jokers going up makes the most sense since it minimizes the chances of the Kings playing in the veto competition. He said that he and Derek X ran the numbers this morning. Hannah asked if they would tell the Jokers that they are pawns. Kyland said that it’s too risky to tell them. If nominations stay the same, Kyland argued that Britini going home is not a waste of a week since they don’t know what she would do. Hannah said that she might go after Kyland and Xavier as well. However she, unlike Kyland, thinks that Alyssa would be worth taking out since she is Christian’s brain. Hannah said they could influence Christian through Tiffany if Alyssa is gone. Kyland said he doesn’t think that Tiffany would be the next person that Christian would go to.
11:26 PM: Tiffany told Derek X that he has to take his shot because Christian is too strong and by the time that they get to the double eviction, he may be taking a shot at Derek. Derek said he knows that he has to take the shot but he doesn’t know if he should nominate two Jokers or go with Sarah Beth and a Joker. Derek briefly worried about how it would be 7-4 in favour of the girls if Christian left. Hannah told Derek that he can beat all of the girls. Tiffany said the only way she would keep Christian in his position is if they agreed to work together until the end and pick everyone off. Derek said he does not have that type of relationship with Christian. He reiterated that he wants to take Christian out. He said that he would do it via the backdoor. Tiffany suggested that Derek speak to the Jokers in order to get a feel for who he should put up. She said that he could let them know that he has a plan and needs their help, and ask what he can do for them in exchange for getting that help.
11:34 PM: Hannah asked Derek X he is leaning towards nominating two Jokers. Derek said yeah. They discussed that if Sarah Beth is nominated, Christian could be picked by her to play in the veto competition, and then he is no longer an option if he wins it. Derek said that if one of the Jokers ends up going, he can always tell the Royal Flush that he stayed true to the alliance. Hannah asked who is in the Royal Flush. Derek told her but asked that she not say anything. Hannah said Tiffany was the one that kept saying “Royal Flush” in front of her. Derek said that he wants to ride with Claire, Hannah, Kyland and Tiffany moving forward though he was open to considering Xavier instead of Kyland. Hannah said she thinks that things could get messy if Derek F goes on the block. Derek said he is leaning towards nominating Britini and Derek F since he is closer to Azah.
11:47 PM: Xavier told Kyland that he knew people in the Cookout had voiced wanting his team to be an option for this week but nobody could expect him to nominate his teammates even though the teams are over, so he felt as though he could not win HoH. Kyland said that’s a good call. Xavier explained that he wanted to outlast Alyssa because she may have taken a shot at members of the Cookout even though he would have been safe with her.
12:00 AM: Tiffany told Claire that she does not want Christian to go home even though she likes him personally, but Derek X has to do what is best for his game. Tiffany said Derek is more beneficial to her game than Christian is. They agreed that Derek should go with his gut and take the shot.
12:21 AM: Hannah asked Tiffany if it was Alyssa or Christian who came up with the Royal Flush. Hannah said she is trying to figure out if there was something more to her seeing the block. Tiffany asked if Derek X told her about the alliance. Hannah said Tiffany did by saying the name in front of her during their conversation with Derek. Tiffany said it doesn’t matter since it was just a cover anyway, but Kyland and Xavier started it with their two teams during their HoH weeks.
12:28 AM: Tiffany spoke to the cameras. She talked about saying Royal Flush in front of Hannah by mistake. She said that she is so with Hannah that she is not even thinking that Hannah isn’t in something with her. Tiffany then talked about Xavier saying that he does not want any Kings on the block. She pointed out that it’s an individual game and he should not be saying that. Tiffany said that they are supposed to have a bigger mission to fulfill and they will have a problem if she is the only one working towards that, but she thinks that Xavier may have just been going along with things. Tiffany clarified that she loves Xavier.
12:32 AM: Derek X got his HoH room.
1:21 AM: Tiffany joined Derek X. They used the chess board to help them run through scenarios. Derek wondered if they can use the week to solidify something with Xavier. Tiffany said he is going to need someone since Christian is going to be gone. Tiffany told that Derek can nominate two Jokers and backdoor Christian, nominate a Joker and Sarah Beth and backdoor Christian, or nominate two Kings.
1:39 AM: Derek X told Tiffany that Britini is definitely going on the block. Derek asked if the two of them, Claire, Hannah, Kyland and Xavier working together would work. Tiffany said it would and it would be 6-6 but two people are always on the block and one is HoH.
1:46 AM: As for the final three, Derek said he could see them being with Azah, Claire or Hannah. He also said Kyland could be involved but he expects someone to take a shot at him in the next couple of weeks. Tiffany said she is not going to be looking at any guys if she wins HoH. She said she is looking at Alyssa, Britini and Sarah Beth. Derek agreed and said those are his next three weeks. They discussed potentially pulling Hannah in with The Detectives, and there was also discussion about bringing Xavier into something too.
2:07 AM: Derek X told Tiffany that it doesn’t make sense for him to keep Christian. Tiffany briefly talked about reasons why it could help to keep Christian. Derek said he has to take the shot cause next week he can’t play, Christian can, and he can win. Tiffany said that’s his answer then.
2:34 AM: Derek X talked to Tiffany about nominating Britini and Sarah Beth. Derek said it’s perfect since it keeps Azah and Derek F happy. Derek said Derek F is playing a great game by making everyone scared to put him up, as he put the fear of God into him. Tiffany said the plan works since the Royal Flush is done after this week anyway. Derek said he would have to nominate Alyssa if Christian uses the veto on Sarah Beth. He thought that Christian wouldn’t use the veto because he would know that Alyssa could then go up. Derek asked if he should tell Britini and Sarah Beth that they are not his target. Tiffany said no because she doesn’t trust Sarah Beth not to tell her team, but he can let Britini know in private because she has been doing this for weeks and can keep quiet. Tiffany suggested that Derek use the HoH in order to make some deals and put himself in a good position. She said to listen more and not talk much to anyone including Kyland.
