Big Brother 23 Day 41
August 16, 2021
10:26 AM: Derek F told Britini that Alyssa didn’t even ask if he wanted to have a conversation. Britini said that’s because she is not going to use the veto. Derek said he will be cool if the nominations are kept the same. Britini said she is pissed because Derek did not say Kyland’s name this week but many others did. She specifically mentioned Tiffany doing so, telling her after the HoH competition that this all could have been avoided had she won since Kyland and Sarah Beth would be going on the block. Derek said the thing that throws him off is Claire being nominated, and it makes him feel like she is the pawn. Britini said they have to get through today because she is terrified that she or Azah could go up.
10:38 AM: Britini told Alyssa she has no idea what’s about to happen today. Alyssa said Kyland isn’t telling her and she would rather not know. Alyssa explained that she will not be using the veto unless Xavier is on the block. She pointed out that she would have saved Sarah Beth last week and then Christian would have gone up had she done that, so she has a fear of using the veto. She added that if she tries to mess up whatever Kyland has planned, he could put Xavier up because of it. Britini said that makes sense.
10:42 AM: Britini told Xavier that whenever she is not on the block, she gets nervous that she will be going up. Britini said that she will be able to breathe after the veto ceremony if she doesn’t go on the block. Xavier said he thinks everyone feels unsafe unless they are the HoH or the veto holder.
11:32 AM: Kyland reassured Claire that he will be using the veto on her. He told her that he is thinking of hinting to Britini just prior to the ceremony that she will be going up, and telling her that there are a lot of reasons but he does not have time to explain them in the moment. He would then tell her that they can talk afterwards.
11:49 AM: Derek F told Kyland he is worried about the votes if he is up next to Britini. He said Kyland can’t vote, Azah will vote for Britini, and he does not trust Alyssa or Sarah Beth. Kyland told Derek that they overwhelmingly have the votes and he has double and triple checked with everyone. Derek asked why Britini can’t go up next to Claire. Kyland explained that Claire would not longer trust him or Tiffany, and then they wouldn’t be able to control her. Kyland said the vote will be 7-1 to evict Britini. Derek said it’s his fault for putting himself on the block.
12:04 PM: Feeds went down for the veto ceremony.
1:18 PM: Feeds returned. Kyland used the Power of Veto on Claire. Kyland nominated Britini as the replacement nominee. Alyssa decided not to use her Power of Veto, meaning that Britini and Derek F are the final nominees for the week.
1:18 PM: Britini was crying and told Azah and Derek F that Kyland made a deal with her, shook on it and then lied and went back on it because he is afraid of her. Derek said Kyland is afraid of both of them. Britini said she is so sick of being picked on in the house, and added that she has now been on the block in 4 of 6 weeks. Derek said Alyssa was selfish by not using the veto on him. He let Britini know that he refuses to campaign. Britini said she is the punching bag for the house and she is sick of being seen as expendable. Derek said he yawned during Kyland’s speech because it was dry and boring. Azah said it didn’t make any sense. Azah suggested that the entire week has been personal and not game related. When Britini said that she doesn’t want to campaign, Derek insisted that she do it.
1:32 PM: Derek F told Azah that he is going to sabotage himself. Azah told him that he cannot do that. Azah said she will be voting for Derek. He told her not to. Azah said she cannot go back on what they agreed to. Derek brought up that he has protected Alyssa and has looked out for her yet she did not use the veto. Azah told him he needs to realize that everyone is out for themselves. She pointed out that Derek just voted out Alyssa’s boo as well. Azah explained that they cannot get upset when people make decisions for themselves. She also brought up that Kyland did not talk to Alyssa about what was going to happen, and she had to assume that Xavier would have gone up.
1:41 PM: Derek F told Azah, Britini and Derek X that if he is there, he is going get Kyland’s head on a platter and take him out. Britini brought up that Kyland flat out lied by making a deal with her on Thursday that he would keep her safe this week if she kept him safe for the next two weeks. Derek X said that’s poor jury management. Britini said she will not be voting for Kyland if he is in the final two. Derek F encouraged Britini to make deals and maybe even start a girls alliance called “Britini Kisses” since she got blamed for a girls alliance anyway.
1:54 PM: Alyssa apologized to Derek F. Derek said she doesn’t owe them anything and he isn’t taking it personally. Alyssa said she couldn’t use the veto because Kyland could have been upset and put Xavier up.
2:01 PM: Tiffany checked in with Britini who said she felt this coming. Britini told Tiffany that Kyland made a deal with her and said he wanted to work with her until final five. Tiffany questioned if Britini is the target. She said that since Kyland wants her in the final five, she should talk to him and find out what he is thinking. Britini said it is her understanding that she is the target. Britini said she thinks that she can rally the votes but it cannot be a tie or else Kyland will send her home. Tiffany suggested that Britini be confident when talking to Kyland and make him wonder why she thinks that she has the votes.
2:11 PM: Hannah told Azah and Derek F that this plan is going to backfire on Kyland. She said that he is going to become the house target if not next week then the following week. Hannah said they will then have to show their cards in order to keep him, which will make things difficult for them. Derek said if he is there, he needs to win and put Kyland up next to Sarah Beth but he is worried about roulette. Hannah said Kyland told her he thinks that he is great with everyone. She said he thinks that he is so much smarter than them that no one can see through him.
2:24 PM: Claire told Tiffany that she wants to ponder keeping Britini. Tiffany said they can ponder it but Kyland will be against them if they keep Britini. Claire suggested that they could try to get Kyland on board with keeping Britini. Tiffany said he seems to have things so planned out in his head. Claire said that’s true. Sarah Beth joined them and said Kyland wants Britini to go and that’s best for the three of them since he is going after Kyland and Kyland is someone who is an ally to them and a bigger target than them as well.
2:29 PM: Britini told Hannah her fear is that they have always gone with what the HoH wants and if the HoH wants her out, she isn’t sure that she has a chance. However she pointed out that Kyland cannot vote, it’s an individual game and she thinks that she can have the numbers to stay.
2:54 PM: Tiffany told Hannah that Claire was questioning what they should do this week, so she told her that they need to weigh out their options. Tiffany said Sarah Beth then came in and said if they save Britini that they will lose Kyland. Tiffany said she added that they would then become the Jokers, and Claire said they can’t do that.
3:08 PM: Britini spoke to the camera and said that she has been here before and knows what she needs to do. She added that they don’t call her the block queen for no reason, and she is going to have to earn that title now by finding a way to stay. Britini said that she will not stop until she does so.
4:50 PM: Britini asked Azah how she should even start thinking about a campaign against Derek F. Azah said she wouldn’t call it a campaign against him but rather points as to why she should stay. Britini mentioned being exhausted. Azah said she has been through a lot of emotions this week and now her two closest people are on the block, and she is just numb.
4:54 PM: Tiffany mentioned to Derek F that they are not going to say anything in their goodbye messages about the Cookout. Derek F agreed, saying they don’t know who might come back into the house. Derek said he could put Kyland up if he wins next week but he then switched it up by saying he would nominate Alyssa and Sarah Beth. He explained that Alyssa didn’t use the veto on him and Kyland is taking out his girl so he will take out Kyland’s girl in Sarah Beth.
5:39 PM: Azah told Tiffany she is worried about the votes. She said she was trying to find a way that she could vote for Britini while having Derek stay but she doesn’t think that she can do it. Tiffany said she should be able to do it since Claire, Hannah, Sarah Beth, Xavier and herself will vote to evict Britini, giving them the five votes that they need.
5:48 PM: Britini told Alyssa that Kyland is trying to make this look like this is the best game move but it’s a personal move that doesn’t benefit the majority of the house. Britini said Kyland showed his true colours by going back on his word to her. She said that he lost three jury votes today. Alyssa told Britini to let her know if there is anything that she can do for her, such as making sure that she isn’t alone and playing pool with her or talking to her. Britini said she very much believes that there is a way for her to stay this week. Britini let Alyssa know that she has her back and she fought for Christian to stay last week.
6:00 PM: Kyland told Britini that she can do whatever she wants but he is recommending that she takes the day before saying things so that she has more time to think about what she is saying. Britini asked if she is the target or if Kyland doesn’t care who goes. Kyland said he was indifferent but he has been hearing that things are being said. He again recommend that she take the day to think. Britini said she is not going to campaign against Derek F but she will campaign as to why she should stay. Kyland said when he heard that she was campaigning against him (Kyland), he got heated and wanted to strike. Britini asked what he meant by strike. Kyland said as of now he doesn’t feel a need to campaign either way.
6:06 PM: Britini spoke to the camera, saying Kyland is not on the block and she is. She said that Kyland is not going to tell her how to campaign.
6:08 PM: Britini let Azah know that Kyland just told her that her campaign should not be against him. Azah encouraged Britini to do whatever she wants, which Britini said she plans to do. Britini then told Hannah the same thing. She explained to Azah and Hannah that unfortunately her campaign to stay involves being against Kyland.
6:14 PM: Britini told Xavier she is so annoyed because Kyland said she should run her campaign without saying anything bad about him. Britini said Kyland is in her reasoning for why she should stay. She said this was a personal move. Britini said Kyland is threatening her that he will start giving reasons that she should leave if she says anything negative about him. Xavier suggested that Britini run her campaign however she wants to.
8:46 PM: Azah told Derek F she doesn’t think he has to worry about anyone in the six going back on their word when it comes to the vote. Azah said she is the only person who might vote against him but she will not do that unless she is certain how everyone else is voting, and then she would give Britini a vote. Azah said she would rather be on the block since she wouldn’t have to vote in that case. Derek said she was considered to go up but he said no to it. Azah figured that Kyland did want her up.
9:13 PM: Derek X told Tiffany that Britini is someone who will always target Alyssa, Kyland and Sarah Beth before them. He said she is a potential shield and he would rather sit next to Britini than Derek F on the block. Tiffany said she loves the idea of Britini staying and she only considered her being a target because Claire was on the block. Derek said he would like to have a conversation with Kyland to discuss why it could be best for them to have Britini stay. Derek talked about how it’s important for him to make it through next week because he would then have a shot at getting the coup d’etat power. Derek said that would given them the opportunity to target whoever they want to without anyone associating it with them. Derek talked about potentially wanting HoH this week just to ensure that he makes it to the third week of the twist.
9:44 PM: Britini spoke to Claire and Hannah about reasons that her staying is beneficial. She said Claire made her realize that if everyone thinks they can beat Derek F and everyone keeps putting him up on the block, he will get further and further and stay over you. Britini said she is a shield, she is a number for voting, and she is willing to compete if they need to beat someone in order to send them home.
9:51 PM: Azah told Derek F her plan for next week. She said it’s crazy but she would like to put a member of the Cookout next to Kyland, and then have a member of the Cookout play the roulette game. She said there would then only be a 2 in 6 chance that a Cookout member goes up through the twist. If one does go up, Azah said they would still have the chance to win the veto and there would be at least three Cookout members competing. Derek F said that’s a big risk to take and it would make for a scary week. Derek said that he would not take the risk with the roulette game in play. He told Azah that he would probably backdoor Sarah Beth after nominating Claire and Kyland.
