Big Brother 23 Day 42
August 17, 2021
10:40 AM: Kyland and Xavier discussed their ideal eviction order. Both agreed that that Derek X leaving next week is the best case scenario. After that, Kyland said his order would be Sarah Beth, Alyssa and Claire. Xavier’s order would be Alyssa, Sarah Beth and Claire. Kyland said his ideal HoH for next week is either Alyssa or Xavier. Xavier agreed and said the only reason he would prefer it be Alyssa is that she would not be able to compete the following week and it would be easier to take a shot at her then. Xavier figures that Alyssa would make the same move as him, putting Claire and Tiffany up with the goal of backdooring Derek X. He suggested that taking Tiffany down would be the logical move since Derek X is more likely to leave over Claire than he is over Tiffany. If Sarah Beth wins HoH, Kyland said she would likely have trouble nominating Claire and Tiffany so he would get her to put him up next to Claire with the goal of backdooring Derek X.
12:53 PM: Britini told Azah that the only real argument she has against Derek F is that everyone thinks they can beat him in competitions, so he is going to become the ultimate pawn. She explained that means anyone who sits next to him would go home.
1:39 PM: Tiffany informed Hannah that Claire and Derek X had a conversation about what to do this week, and they approached her about potentially keeping Britini. She said she told them that they would probably lose Kyland if they do that, but they said it doesn’t make a difference if they are going to get Kyland out in a couple of weeks anyway. Tiffany said they are going to have to convince them that this is a bad idea or else they are going to have to show their cards. Tiffany said that Claire or Derek X have to go next week. Specifically she said that Claire needs to be the one to go. Tiffany said Claire brought up yesterday that there will be all duos after this week. Hannah said Claire got the chess pieces out and listed off all of the duos for her. The two agreed that Alyssa should be the last one to go of those outside of the Cookout.
2:19 PM: Derek X let Hannah and Tiffany know that he plans to try to talk to Kyland today about keeping Britini. He said the most compelling argument for Kyland is that you don’t want to keep people around who you would definitely go home over, and Derek F may be one of the last people he feels that way about. Derek also argued that Britini is not a threat. He said it’s not going to be easy to convince Kyland but it’s worth a shot.
2:40 PM: Tiffany told Kyland that they will probably have to send Claire home next week. She said they will probably have to hold off on sending Derek X home even though Kyland and Xavier want him to go. Tiffany explained that if Derek goes, the three girls outside of the Cookout are not going to go after each other. She then warned Kyland that Derek X plans to talk to him about keeping Britini. Tiffany said Claire and Derek X have been doing a lot more talking and both want to keep Britini. She suggested that Claire is the one convincing Derek that it needs to happen, meaning that she should be the first to go.
2:54 PM: Kyland told Britini that right now he doesn’t feel a need or desire to campaign. Britini said Derek F is telling her that he is not going to campaign and he will tell people “if I am good for your game, cool. If not, keep Britini here”. Britini made it clear that her campaign will not include Kyland, as she is only giving points as to why she should stay in order to benefit others. In the event of a tie, which Kyland said he does not see happening, Kyland said he does not know what he would do at this point. Kyland told Britini that if she feels it is best to bring up something about him in her campaign, she should make sure it’s the truth for that person and that they wont let him know. As for the deal that Britini thought they had agreed upon, Kyland said it was contingent on certain things happening and that meant it was only in place if he didn’t end up putting her up. Britini said they have two different understandings of how the conversation went down but she will not be using it in her campaign.
3:12 PM: Claire told Alyssa she learned this week that she is expendable to Kyland. Claire figured that Kyland threw the veto to Alyssa to get closer to her and to make her feel like that she owes him after he used the veto on her. Alyssa asked if it’s pretty clear that people are going after Britini. Alyssa said she does not see Derek F going. Claire added that she doesn’t see him going anywhere ever. They discussed that it’s scary since people will take him to the final two. Claire said she worries a bit that Kyland thinks all of the girls will vote for each other over a guy.
3:45 PM: Alyssa told Xavier that Claire told her that she and Tiffany are contemplating keeping Britini. Xavier asked if Alyssa thinks that they should keep Britini. Alyssa said no but asked that he hear her out. Alyssa said Xavier should fear that no one would pick him over Derek F if they are in the final three together. She added that they have no idea what Derek F would do it he wins HoH, whereas they know who Britini is and is not targeting.
3:47 PM: Sarah Beth joined Alyssa and Xavier. Alyssa asked if everyone is still on the same page. Sarah Beth said they all still want Britini to go. Alyssa said she figured that Britini would get one sympathy vote. Sarah Beth said she expects Azah to do that like Alyssa and Xavier did for Christian last week. Xavier said he thinks that Britini is the strongest competitor out of the Jokers. Sarah Beth said it is dangerous to keep Derek F for too long but she agrees that Britini needs to go this week.
4:40 PM: Hannah told Derek X that she is not concerned about Azah and Derek F winning, and she would like to bring them to the end because they can beat them. She mentioned that she would likely go after a girl next week. She said she cannot see Kyland coming after her just yet. When Derek X asked if she thinks that Kyland is after him, Hannah said she thinks that Kyland will want to keep all of the guys around as long as possible. Hannah said she doesn’t trust Sarah Beth and she worries that Alyssa would put two of her, Claire and Tiffany up with the goal of backdooring Derek X.
4:53 PM: Alyssa told Xavier that Claire and Tiffany are in a room with Azah, leading her to believe that they were discussing keeping Britini. Alyssa feared that they would be able to get the votes and then she and Xavier would be on the wrong side. Xavier said he does not think that they will be able to flip the vote.
4:56 PM: Kyland let Derek F know that the told Britini he is not going to campaign. Kyland said he still thinks that it will be a 7-1 vote to evict Britini. He said that he will stick with not campaigning unless he sees that changing.
5:27 PM: Britini told Azah and Tiffany that Kyland claims it was a misunderstanding when it comes to the deal that he made with her. She said he asked why she would have a problem saying that to people if she feels the same way. She said Kyland asked her to tell everyone that it was a misunderstanding. Tiffany told Britini not to tell that to anyone else. Azah told Britini to do whatever she wants to do. Britini worried that Kyland would tell everyone to vote her out unless she listens and follows through on it. She said she does believe that she can get the votes and that it will either be 5-3 or 7-1.
5:53 PM: Azah spoke to the cameras. She said she would put Kyland up and get him out of there next week if not for her believing in what the six set out to do. Azah said Kyland has compromised her trust and his actions are impacting the six. She said that she does not want him to win HoH ever again. She talked about Kyland being someone who cannot admit his faults.
5:54 PM: Britini told Hannah about her conversation with Kyland in which he gave his understanding of what the deal was. She asked Hannah to tell Kyland that she cleared things up if he happens to ask. Hannah questioned if Kyland is so arrogant to think the person he put up should go around and clarify things for him. Hannah said she thinks Kyland believes that he is smarter than them all. Britini said Kyland told her that she has a lack of comprehension a number of times, and America knows that he is lying about the deal. Hannah said she believes Britini.
6:09 PM: Britini spoke to Derek X to tell him that Kyland is claiming they had a misunderstanding and she had a lack of comprehension when it comes to the deal. Britini said Kyland wants her to clear it up with the house for him.
7:45 PM: Claire told Kyland that she is indifferent when it comes to the vote. She explained that neither nominee will really benefit her game or harm her game. Claire said she is curious to hear their pitches. Kyland said Britini mentioned that Derek F has a one line campaign in which he is telling people to do what’s best for their game.
8:08 PM: Kyland asked Derek X if he has a preference for this week. Derek said he sees both sides of the argument but if he were sitting next to Britini he would at least have a fighting chance, whereas he would be gone if he ended up on the block next to Derek F. Derek let Kyland know that even though he is saying he wants to target Britini for being unpredictable, he himself was unpredictable this week. Derek explained that there was a lack of transparency this week and he feels as though they didn’t have full communication, and the reason you don’t have full communication with someone is that you don’t fully trust them. Kyland said he was still thinking and needed time to find the justification that would make sense. Kyland told Derek that him leaving does nothing for his game and he would prefer to sit next to him than Sarah Beth at the end.
8:36 PM: Alyssa asked Claire and Tiffany which way they are leaning for the vote. Tiffany said she sees the benefit to both sides. Alyssa said Britini would put Kyland and Sarah Beth up. She thinks Derek F could nominate those two or her and Xavier since he believes that she should have used the veto on him. They discussed that everyone seems to be after Kyland and Sarah Beth for next week. Alyssa said the worst case scenario would therefore be Sarah Beth winning HoH.
8:44 PM: Claire told Tiffany that Britini will work with them but Derek F will not. They agreed that Azah and Britini are both unlikely to come after them. Claire said it does not make sense for them to get rid of Britini. Tiffany said they would need everyone to agree in order to do that.
8:51 PM: Derek X told Kyland that he is 60/40 in favour of keeping Britini. He clarified that he would want to keep Kyland over either of them so he will not go against Kyland’s wishes if he feels strongly about it. Kyland said he is 75% leaning towards targeting Britini because he does not trust her to not come after him and she has more ability to do so. The guys then talked about sitting down with Xavier to see where his head is at and potentially solidify something between them.
11:51 PM: Hannah told Tiffany that Britini is going to be campaigning tomorrow. Tiffany said Britini pitched to her today and it was good. Hannah said Derek X talked to Kyland for a good hour and a half but she hasn’t got a chance to talk to him. Tiffany said his Derek told her that his talk with Kyland went well and he might be thinking about keeping Britini. Tiffany said she knows that Kyland can’t keep Britini but she doesn’t know what Kyland is telling him. Tiffany mentioned that Claire is really considering keeping Britini but she won’t do it if Alyssa and Xavier say that they are against it. Tiffany said Alyssa is still a little bitter about the Christian situation and said Britini is giving the same argument that Christian did, so why should she keep her.
12:00 AM: Alyssa asked Tiffany what she is thinking in terms of the vote. Tiffany said she is thinking of voting Britini out. Tiffany acknowledged that there are pros and cons, as with anybody. Tiffany said Claire might want to consider keeping Britini. Alyssa questioned if it’s too early to take out Derek F. Tiffany said she is thinking that and that Britini is a tough competitor. Alyssa said she wants to hear both of their cases and see what Britini says when she brings up last week’s situation. Alyssa said if the argument that keeping Britini is good because she will take out Kyland and Sarah Beth, there is no need to keep her when everyone is on the same page about doing that. Alyssa did say she is open to both options.
12:14 AM: Britini told Derek F about her conversation with Kyland. She said he threatened her not to campaign against him, and he wants her to go around and tell everyone that their deal was a miscommunication on her end. Britini said Kyland is the reason she is up and she is not going to do what he wants. Britini said she is sick of Kyland threatening her.
12:19 AM: Britini pulled Xavier aside to tell him more details about her conversation with Kyland. She cried, saying she is so uncomfortable and doesn’t like being threatened by Kyland. Britini said Kyland is a liar and he is trying to cover his ass because he knows that she is right. Britini added that Kyland wants to know the names of two people that she is going to target by tomorrow night. Xavier encouraged Britini to run her campaign, not Kyland’s.
12:22 AM: Derek F checked in with Kyland who told him about his conversation with Britini. Derek said this situation is a bit scary for him because he cannot read Kyland and wonders at times if he was tricked into being a pawn. Kyland assured him that he was not and that he is not lying to him. Derek said he wants people to vote with their heart. He said to let people send him home if that’s what they want. Kyland said they don’t want that. Derek told Kyland he is thinking of nominating Alyssa and Claire if he wins HoH, and then he could backdoor Sarah Beth and send her home. He said that Derek X could go the week after.
12:38 AM: Derek X told Britini that he would prefer to keep her in the house, and it was good to hear that Kyland is impartial. Derek said Kyland is not trying to influence anyone else’s decision but he would prefer that Derek F stay. Derek clarified that it’s not a landslide in terms of how much Kyland wants to keep Derek. Derek suggested that Britini should fake play nice with Kyland. Britini said she will be pitching things that she can offer. She mentioned that she is a proven competitor and they can use her to help take out the top dogs in the house. Britini said she is a shield to the females in the house. She then brought up that she has spent 28 of 42 days on the block and people will see the block less with her there because she will be in one of the two seats every week. Britini then told Derek that she is a number for him and those that they are working with. Britini said Derek F has a very good social game and he will become the ultimate pawn if he stays, and anyone who sits next to him will go home.
1:11 AM: Derek X asked Hannah and Tiffany if they think they should keep Britini this week. He asked them to ignore that Kyland is HoH and consider who is best to keep. Tiffany said it might be too early to get rid of Britini. Claire joined them. Claire said Kyland asked her when he should tell Britini that she is going home. Claire said she told Kyland not to tell her that, and Kyland was trying to say that he is looking out for all of their games. Derek said Kyland told him that he is 75/25 in favour of keeping Derek F. Claire said she is 75/25 in favour of keeping Britini, while Derek said he is almost 100% in favour of keeping Britini. Derek said he doesn’t think that they lose Kyland if they keep Britini. Derek told them that Britini is bringing up a lot of good points as to why she should stay, such as she would take shots for them. Claire said Derek F will not go after Kyland. Derek said the best thing Britini said to him is that if she is in the house, she will always be in one of the nomination chairs and then two of them will not be on the block at the same time. Derek said Britini is desperate, looking for a lifeline, and she will be loyal to them if she stays. Tiffany said she wants to know more about Britini’s plan for after she gets the people out that they want to get out. Hannah said she is concerned since Britini hasn’t talked to her yet and that keeping her will push Alyssa, Xavier, Kyland and Sarah Beth closer together. Derek said Alyssa and Xavier may be more on board with keeping Britni than they think. Hannah said she is not comfortable with keeping Britini unless Alyssa and Xavier are on board. Derek said they will see what tomorrow brings, as he wouldn’t want to make the move if Alyssa, Xavier, Kyland and Sarah Beth got closer due to it, but he doesn’t think that that would be the case.
2:26 AM: Hannah and Tiffany discussed how to go about the vote since Claire and Derek X are wanting to keep Britini but they cannot do that. Hannah said she will justify it by saying she does not want to keep Britini if Alyssa and Xavier are not on board. Hannah said if they can’t convince Claire and Derek X to keep Derek F, then Azah and Tiffany may have to vote with them and force Kyland to break the tie in order to avoid raising suspicion.
