Big Brother 23 Day 44 - Britini is evicted; Sarah Beth wins HoH
August 19, 2021
5:29 PM: By a vote of 7-1, Britini was evicted from the Big Brother house. Azah was the sole vote to evict Derek F.
5:53 PM: Sarah Beth won HoH.
6:09 PM: Kyland and Sarah Beth celebrated in the storage room. Kyland asked if she is not going to put him up unless he asks her to. Sarah Beth said she has thought about it and doesn’t think it’s a good idea to put him up since no one would take him down. Kyland said his preference is to put Claire and Derek X up because of what happened this week, but he said this is her HoH and he will support whatever she wants to do.
6:16 PM: Azah and Claire discussed that they don’t know what Sarah Beth will do. When Claire mentioned that they have to consider the roulette game as well, but Azah said she doesn’t have the money for it. Claire suggested that Azah could get a higher amount this week. She asked if Britini got 100. Azah confirmed that she did. Claire said those votes may go to Azah, but Azah wasn’t so sure about that. Azah said she has done nothing. Azah brought up that she was gunning for Sarah Beth. They both agreed that they could see Sarah Beth putting up almost anyone.
6:19 PM: Alyssa told Xavier that Tiffany got so mad when Derek X almost won HoH. Xavier asked if she thinks that Tiffany wanted him to win instead of Sarah Beth. Alyssa said yeah and she is going to bring it to Sarah Beth’s attention. She always wants to bring up that Claire said that she is expendable to Kyland.
6:20 PM: Tiffany told Derek X she thinks that Sarah Beth lied to her last night by saying she would nominate the Jokers. Derek said she told him the same thing. Tiffany said she thinks they are going to try to make Derek spend his money. They discussed being have-nots with Kyland this week in order to stay close with him.
6:25 PM: Derek F told Xavier he feels so defeated and thinks that Sarah Beth will put him right back on the block.
6:27 PM: Tiffany told Azah she has been wanting Sarah Beth out for weeks and she knows that America is laughing at her now that Sarah Beth won HoH. Tiffany said she is so unpredictable. Azah and Tiffany agreed that this could have been avoided had Kyland not won HoH last week. Tiffany figures that Sarah Beth’s order in terms of furthest to closest to her is Derek X, Hannah, Tiffany, Derek F, Azah, Xavier, Alyssa and Kyland.
6:31 PM: Derek F worried that he will be a pawn again. Kyland asked that he trust him as he is going to work to make sure that it doesn’t happen. Derek said it’s time for the girls to step up. Kyland said he can promise that two Cookout members will not be on the block come Thursday unless he is one of them.
6:34 PM: Derek F told Xavier that Derek X should be Sarah Beth’s main target since he put her on the block. Xavier said they need to work on that.
7:12 PM: Tiffany told Kyland she could put some paranoia in Derek X’s head that he is going to get backdoored so that he will play for roulette. Kyland said Derek told him that he would play to take him down. Tiffany said the only reason she wouldn’t mind going up at the start is that Derek could pull her down. Kyland said that’s why he wants to go up initially. Kyland said Sarah Beth is trying to figure out if she is more concerned about Claire and Derek X or Alyssa and Xavier, and right now she is leaning towards Claire and Derek X. Tiffany said she is not going to nominate Alyssa and Xavier. Tiffany mentioned that she does not want Derek X up initially because then he can only save himself and not someone else too. Kyland said his ideal scenario is he goes on the block next to Claire.
7:23 PM: Sarah Beth told Kyland that her first step is to make sure that the roulette gets used. Kyland said he would try to get it used and in a way that nobody has 250 for next week. Kyland suggested that Derek X would go for it to take him off of the block. Sarah Beth pointed out that he might get stuck on the block if no one plays. Kyland said he is confident that he could then win the veto.
7:40 PM: Sarah Beth told Kyland she feels good with Claire and Tiffany because they actually listen to her as opposed to Alyssa and Xavier. Sarah Beth said the Jackpot has done nothing to show that they are not loyal to each other and she thinks that including Claire and Tiffany in her HoH would make them solidified with her. She added that it would be a waste to take either of those two out this week. Kyland brought up that he didn’t like how Claire and Derek X were suddenly meeting with everyone an hour before the vote and trying to flip things. Kyland said those two have a tightness and he doesn’t know where it came from. Sarah Beth said part of why she wants to work with Claire and Tiffany is she thinks that they could beat those two. As for Derek X and Xavier, she said those two are huge threats and she isn’t 100% sure that they would not betray her.
8:08 PM: Tiffany told Hannah that she does not want Sarah Beth to have a successful HoH. She explained that she doesn’t want her to be able to say that she got Derek X out. Tiffany said she wants Sarah Beth to get someone out who will not make her resume look good, which would be Claire. Hannah said they need Derek X to stay in order to be a target for Alyssa next week if she wins HoH.
8:13 PM: Sarah Beth told Kyland that the point of her meetings will be to figure out who she can nominate in order to feel confident that the power will be used and whoever comes down with it would not have been a target anyway. Kyland pitched using him by nominating him, which Sarah Beth again said that she does not like the idea of.
8:25 PM: Tiffany let Hannah know that Kyland wants to go up next to Claire. Hannah said Derek X would take Claire down in that scenario, so Kyland cannot go up or else they could have two Cookout members up next to each other. Tiffany asked who in the Cookout would go home next to Kyland. Hannah said Derek F would possibly go. They agreed that Derek going would be the best option if someone from the Cookout ends up having to leave, as he isn’t a competition threat.
8:37 PM: Alyssa told Sarah Beth that Tiffany was pissed when Derek X got close to winning HoH but failed. Sarah Beth said she did not notice that. Sarah Beth said she wants to figure out how to get the power used this week without putting someone she is working with in danger. Alyssa said she would like to play it if she gets enough money, because she would hate to go up due to a spin of the roulette wheel. Sarah Beth said she would be good with that since she trusts Alyssa. Alyssa said if she only gets $50 then she would tell Xavier to play since she didn’t have enough money to. They agreed that ideally Xavier can save his money. Sarah Beth said she thinks Derek F got $100 and would use it if she nominates him. They agreed that Britini, Derek F and Derek X likely got the $100 last week. Alyssa said she would have nominated Claire and Tiffany with Derek X being her target. Sarah Beth said she is considering Derek F as a possible target but she doesn’t know if she wants to waste her HoH, even though that logic is why he is dangerous since nobody will want to take him out.
8:55 PM: Sarah Beth asked Tiffany if she is on board with the power being used this week. Tiffany said yes. Sarah Beth asked if she would be willing to play even if she isn’t nominated. Tiffany said she would be willing to do it but she would need to get enough money tomorrow. Sarah Beth made it clear that she genuinely wants to work with the Jackpot even though she is very tight with Kyland. She pointed out that nobody would expect it. Tiffany said they should stick with it. Sarah Beth said she does not want to put Claire or Tiffany up and if she did it would only be to help get the power played and not as a target, but her head is not thinking that way right now. Sarah Beth asked which of the three strong guys Tiffany feels best with. She said Kyland since she started the game with him and the Queens.
9:13 PM: Hannah and Sarah Beth agreed that they would like for the power to be used this week. Hannah said she would be willing to play if she were not nominated, and obviously would play if she were nominated. Sarah Beth asked if she would work with her on who came off of the block if she were to win. Hannah said yes. Hannah brought up that they were in a weird spot a couple of weeks ago and she was given a name but she does not know who started the rumours. She said that same person told her that Sarah Beth was after her. Sarah Beth said she has a similar read on what happened. Hannah said when Alyssa and Christian put her up, they blamed it on Sarah Beth but she realized that it was just a play. Sarah Beth said she feels that they have cleared the air. She mentioned not knowing what she is doing yet but she will let Hannah know if she is the person she feels good with that she ends up deciding to put up.
9:25 PM: Sarah Beth told Claire that she feels sticking with the Jackpot over Kyland is the better decision for her long term game. Claire said that’s good and she does not want to go after Kyland any time soon but she worries that he will want to take guys to the end. Sarah Beth said she is worried about that with the guys in general. Sarah Beth asked who Claire thinks is the biggest threat to the Jackpot. Claire said Xavier is who she worries about most for her own personal game. Sarah Beth let Claire know what Alyssa said about Tiffany being upset when she won. Sarah Beth said it worries her more about Alyssa than Tiffany because Alyssa told her that Hannah was coming after her and told Hannah that she was after her. Sarah Beth mentioned Alyssa came to her before HoH and said she thinks people are after Kyland and Sarah Beth, which makes her think that Alyssa’s game is to get people paranoid.
9:47 PM: Derek X asked Sarah Beth if she is going to make him spend his money. Sarah Beth said that she does want the power to be used. She explained that some people are already willing to play so he may potentially not have to as she would like to have someone she trusts able to play for the coup d’etat. Sarah Beth told Derek X that Alyssa said Tiffany was upset when he lost. They both agreed it’s unlikely that Tiffany would be visibly upset in front of people. Derek X said Tiffany feels good with him but would not feel bad with Sarah Beth. Sarah Beth asked about Derek saying that Alyssa and Christian were campaigning for her to go over Derek F. Derek said he was told that they were campaigning for that before he even went up. Sarah Beth said she is not saying Alyssa is her target but she wants the option open and Alyssa has said she would play roulette if she gets the money. Sarah Beth worried about Kyland going up by roulette. Derek said if she puts Kyland up, he could play and take him down but then he can’t go for the coup d’etat. Sarah Beth said she is leaning towards keeping Kyland off of the block even if he wants to go up because she can’t trust that someone else would take him down. Derek pointed out that the only way for Kyland to avoid the block for sure is for the power not to be used.
10:22 PM: Azah told Sarah Beth that she was not happy with Kyland going into this week and he would have been her target. Sarah Beth said she understands that since Kyland nominated two of her closest allies and sent one of them home. Sarah Beth said this is going to be her HoH and she will do what’s best for her game, so she does not want people thinking that it’s Kyland’s HoH. Due to the power, Sarah Beth said she will be putting someone up who she wants to come down. She said she plans to give a heads up so Azah will know if it’s her. She said that her mind is not made up yet but Azah would not be going up as a target if she did go up.
10:36 PM: Sarah Beth spoke to Derek F about the power. He said he would like for it to be used this week. He claimed that he only received $50 so he does not have the money to play this week. Sarah Beth said she doesn’t think that he only got $50. Derek stood by the claim. He guessed that Derek X and Tiffany got $100. When Sarah Beth asked about Britini, he said she told him that she got $75 but anyone could be lying in this game. Derek said that he does not want to be the designated pawn this season. He mentioned that there are a lot of targets and he is someone who cant even get up without breathing heavy.
10:59 PM: Sarah Beth told Xavier She is pretty sure that the power will be used this week, so he and Alyssa should save their money. Xavier asked if it would make sense for Alyssa to play and he could save his money. Sarah Beth said she would be good with that too. When Sarah Beth asked who would be a threat to her game, Xavier said the people with reason to go after Kyland because she may go up with him. Xavier pointed to Claire and Derek F because Kyland nominated them, though he said he doesn’t think that Derek would want to take on that battle. Xavier concluded the talk by saying that he will save his money if Alyssa plays, which they agreed would be best for her to do.
11:26 PM: Sarah Beth met with Kyland to fill him in on her talks. Afterwards, Kyland asked if she felt like she got any answers to questions that may have been in her head. Sarah Beth said she is stuck between whether she should trust Alyssa or Derek X. She was then called to the diary room.
12:06 AM: Sarah Beth got her HoH room. There was a photo of her with girlfriend. Her letter was also from her girlfriend.
5:58 AM: After nearly four hours of speaking with Kyland, Sarah Beth went over what she would say to Claire. She mentioned that the only way for Claire to be safe from roulette is if she puts her up and Tiffany takes her down. Sarah Beth added that she has had several people say they would play and take down who she wants. She said if she puts her up that it would probably be against the person she had been up against already, and she feels confident that that person isn’t going to have enough money to play. She said her goal is to get two people she could potentially work with safe from roulette. Sarah Beth said she wishes she could be as certain as Kyland is that he could go up and be safe but she is not. Sarah Beth said she would tell Derek F that unfortunately she may be using him as a pawn again but her intention would be for him to be the one that comes down even though she will be telling the other nominee the same thing. Sarah Beth said she will tell Derek F that she does not want him or Azah on the block come eviction night, and she will use the veto on Azah if roulette puts her up. She added that she wishes she could tell him what the plan is but she cannot.
