Big Brother 23 Day 45 - Sarah Beth nominates Claire and Derek F
August 20, 2021
8:31 AM: Xavier asked Sarah Beth how her talk with Kyland went. She said he wants to go on the block so he doesn’t have to worry about being put up by roulette, but she does not feel as confident as he does that someone would take him down. Sarah Beth said she is thinking that she may make the same nominations that Kyland did last week, those being Claire and Derek F. Xavier said he thinks that would be the smartest move. Sarah Beth said she is flexible when it comes to Claire and Derek F since both are on her radar, and also Derek X wont have incentive to play if she decides that he is an option later in the week.
8:51 AM: Xavier told Alyssa that the plan is to nominate Claire and Derek F. Xavier said Sarah Beth is indifferent about which one comes down but she would like for Alyssa and Hannah to play for roulette. Xavier said it would be good if Hannah can win because Derek X would then have no incentive to play for veto, and Sarah Beth is considering him as an option for this week.
9:31 AM: Sarah Beth let Derek F know that she may use him as a pawn this week. She said she hates to do it to him again but he is not the target this week. Sarah Beth suggested that Azah could get the money, play, and then both Azah and Derek F would be safe this week. Sarah Beth that would be an awesome scenario for her. Derek said he already knew it was coming. He mentioned it’s BS since there were people during Derek X’s HoH that wanted to take her out. Sarah Beth explained that if not for the powers, both Azah and Derek F would not be seeing the block since she would have complete control of who was going up. Derek said his demeanour is not towards her but rather towards the game since there is nothing playing to his strengths as a big guy. Sarah Beth said the plan would be to use him as a pawn next to the same person as last week.
9:46 AM: Feeds cut in mid-conversation as Sarah Beth told Claire that she is potentially going to nominate her. Claire said she sees the benefits and she is open to it. Claire suggested talking to Tiffany about how much money she has. Claire said there will be no hard feelings whatsoever if she goes up.
9:50 AM: Claire told Derek X that she is going on the block. She said Sarah Beth wants Tiffany to play roulette but she doesn’t know that Tiffany spent her money last week. Derek said now he is wondering if he has to play. Before Claire left, he told her that he would save her.
9:56 AM: Hannah told Tiffany and Xavier that she would possibly have to throw it if she plays for roulette, because she would be expected to take Claire down. Xavier said he didn’t know that.
10:01 AM: Feeds went down for the nomination ceremony.
11:04 AM: Feeds returned. Sarah Beth nominated Claire and Derek F for eviction.
11:08 AM: Sarah Beth told Derek X that Alyssa and Hannah said that they are willing to play and she expects that Tiffany will play for Claire as well. She said there is a good chance that the power will get used but it’s up to Derek whether he wants to play or save the money. Sarah Beth said she is pretty sure that Derek F would go if nominations stay the same, but there is also the veto which leaves her options open if she wants to look at a former teammate.
11:15 AM: Claire asked Sarah Beth if she has a goal for who will play in the roulette. Sarah Beth said Alyssa and Hannah told her that they would play, she expects Tiffany to play if she has the money to, and Derek X is still considering his options.
11:28 AM: Azah told Derek F that he will have the votes if nominations stay the same. Derek said he understands that but he needs to win something. Azah pointed out that Britini became a target immediately after winning a veto. She added that the reason why she is in the house is because she is not a threat. She said that some of them have to play a different type of game and can’t be winning competitions.
12:18 PM: Hannah told Claire that she is willing to play and Derek X is too if Sarah Beth asks him to, but they should not both be playing. Claire agreed that only one of them should play. Hannah said Derek X has the best shot at getting the next power. She worried that Sarah Beth is trying to make her spend her money just so that she cannot win next week. They agreed that Sarah Beth would rather Derek get the power than her. Hannah said she will play and take Claire down if Sarah Beth wants her to play. She asked what she should do if Sarah Beth asks her to take Derek F down instead. Claire said to say that she wants to respect her wishes but she cannot do that. Hannah said it doesn’t help her game to take Derek down.
12:32 PM: Tiffany asked Kyland if Sarah Beth is expecting Derek F to come down. He said yes. She then asked if Claire is the target. Kyland said there are four targets, those being Alyssa, Claire, Derek X and Xavier. He said he believes that Alyssa and Xavier are interchangeable for Sarah Beth, meaning he should be able to keep the Cookout safe.
12:53 PM: Feeds went down for the High Roller’s Room.
5:48 PM: Feeds returned. Alyssa won the roulette competition and chose to save Derek F. Xavier then went up in his place due to a spin of the roulette wheel.
5:54 PM: Alyssa let Claire know that she asked Sarah Beth who she wanted her to take down and she said Derek F. Claire said Sarah Beth is telling her that it was Alyssa’s decision. Alyssa said she would never do something that the HoH did not want. Claire said it’s okay and she had to do what’s best for her game.
5:57 PM: Derek F told Xavier he hopes that he wins the veto and then Sarah Beth throws Derek X on the block in his place.
6:00 PM: Xavier told Sarah Beth he doesn’t feel great sitting next to Claire but he definitely feels better than he would have sitting next to Derek F. Sarah Beth said she is pretty sure Claire is mad that she did not get taken down. Sarah Beth said she does not want Claire to be mad at Alyssa, and she told Claire that she understood Alyssa’s argument for saving Derek. Sarah Beth said she is hoping Xavier comes down and that there will be a backdoor opportunity this week. Xavier said he will gun for the veto and thinks that it could be a week for a big move, which Sarah Beth said she had planned from the start.
6:07 PM: Sarah Beth spoke to the cameras and said America is going to hate her since she knows that they love Derek X, but as long as he is not selected to play in the veto competition, there will be a really good shot at getting him on the block and out this week.
6:15 PM: Sarah Beth spoke with Alyssa to clarify what she said to Claire. Sarah Beth said she told Claire that Alyssa was originally open to taking down who she wanted her to but then she came to her and brought up a good point that she hadn’t thought about and couldn’t argue with, Sarah Beth said she is wanting Xavier to come down. Alyssa asked if Sarah Beth has a target. Sarah Beth said only Kyland and Xavier know this and she would like for it to stay there, but she is thinking of putting Derek X up if Xavier comes down. Alyssa said she is 100% on board with that.
6:25 PM: Derek X told Tiffany that he wanted Hannah to win or Tiffany to play. Tiffany said she only got $50 and couldn’t play. Derek said he got $100 again so he is guaranteed to be able to play in Coin of Destiny if he makes it through this week. Tiffany mentioned that she may go up if Derek X wins veto or Xavier comes down. Derek said he wont use the veto if he wins it. Derek figures that he will go home if he is up next to Claire. He said he needs to make it through this week and then they can take out whoever they want. Derek said this could be Claire’s comp. Tiffany said she is scared that Derek would go up if Claire wins, so it’s not even best for her to win.
6:44 PM: Sarah Beth told Kyland that America is going to hate her if she sends Derek X home. Kyland said America already hates him for sending Britini home. Sarah Beth said she can’t get too excited yet since it might not work out. Sarah Beth asked Kyland who would go home next to Xavier if Derek X wins and takes Claire down. Kyland said Azah or Tiffany.
6:56 PM: Kyland told Xavier her needs someone to ask Hannah what he should say to Derek X to ensure that he wont use the veto on Claire if she picks him. Xavier said he can talk to her.
6:58 PM: Sarah Beth spoke to the cameras. She said a concern she has if it’s Claire and Derek X on the block is that Derek will try to turn it on her and Kyland but letting Alyssa and Xavier know that they knew the whole time about the backdoor plan for Christian and they cannot be trusted. Sarah Beth said her plan is to completely deny all allegations.
7:04 PM: Alyssa told Xavier that Sarah Beth let her know that she plans to backdoor Derek X. Alyssa thinks it wouldn’t make sense for Claire to pick Derek to play since Derek would not want to risk Hannah going up.
8:18 PM: Claire told Tiffany that it’s very tricky to know how to feel because she can’t feel much of anything right now and she has to think about veto tomorrow. She said she ideally wins but that sucks for Derek X. Claire said Sarah Beth could take her out even though she doesn’t know how that would benefit her. Tiffany said Sarah Beth didn’t seem shocked when Alyssa saved Derek F. She suggested that Sarah Beth tries not to have any reaction so that no one can say that they saw anything. Tiffany said she wants to win HoH to take Sarah Beth out. They worried that Kyland may want Sarah Beth to take Derek X out for him since he cannot do it himself. Claire said Kyland has positioned himself in the middle very nicely.
9:02 PM: Claire told Derek X that it’s going to be a weird week and it’s probably going to be either of them or Xavier going home. When Derek X stepped way, Claire told Tiffany she thinks Sarah Beth would ideally want Derek X to go this week. Tiffany agreed.
