Big Brother 23 Day 49
August 24, 2021
12:35 PM: Xavier told Derek F that Hannah should not have to be arguing why Derek X should not be staying. Xavier pointed out that one person has been very adamant about not seeing the block. Derek said that’s Tiffany. Xavier explained that keeping Derek X, the biggest target in the house, around would help her to continue avoiding the block. Derek said he thinks it’s that Tiffany does not think she can beat Kyland and Xavier. Xavier said it’s a combination of both since her strongest argument against any of the males would be that she did not ever see the block if she can keep that streak intact. Derek said he would leave her on the block if he gets the power, and then they could decide between her and Claire or her and Sarah Beth. Xavier thinks Tiffany wants to make it make sense for them to keep Derek X but it is never going to happen as it does not benefit the six to do so.
1:10 PM: Derek F told Xavier that he is uneasy about Tiffany trying to keep Derek X. Xavier said it makes no sense not to take out one of the biggest threats outside of the six while they have got the chance. Derek said that if Tiffany didn’t want to be a part of this, she should have made deals with other people at the start but she made a deal with the six instead.
1:22 PM: Tiffany told Kyland that if she wasn’t afraid of them being mad at her, it wouldn’t even be a question what she would do this week. Kyland said he knows that she wants to be the second vote for Derek X instead of him. Kyland said he would let it happen but it would suck. He explained that he took on the responsibility of keeping the six safe this week and they are ending the week with no one from the alliance on the block. Kyland mentioned Hannah said she finds herself having to convince people in the six why Derek needs to go even though he is her person, so she has to focus on their feelings and not her own. Tiffany asked if he is saying that’s coming from her. Kyland said Hannah told him that it’s multiple people. Tiffany pointed out that even though it’s someone else’s person, it doesn’t mean that others ton’t have connections to that person. Kyland agreed. Tiffany said she does not think that she has been going to Hannah about it. Kyland said it’s not her then. Tiffany said it’s dead to her and they do not have to talk about it anymore.
1:29 PM: Xavier told Derek F, Kyland and Tiffany that since he is going into solitary confinement tomorrow, he would like to talk to those in the six today to get an idea of what they think is best in terms of the decision for this week, as he may not have time to talk to them before he votes. Tiffany said it’s whatever they want to do. Kyland said they are a team and he doesn’t think anyone is making decisions for anyone else. Tiffany reiterated that it’s whatever they want to do. Derek said he is going to vote Derek X out since he cannot beat him in anything.
1:32 PM: Tiffany told Kyland and Xavier that she doesn’t have a whole lot to say and she is good with whatever the decision is. She said she does not want to put herself in a position where she is viewed as the troublemaker or the emotional player or the selfish person in the group. She added that there is nothing left to say about it and they don’t have to have a redundant conversation. Tiffany said it doesn’t matter what she thinks if it’s a unanimous decision outside of herself, and she is perfectly fine with it. Tiffany told Kyland and Xavier that they are doing what needs to be done in this game whereas she has not done anything and isn’t in a position to call the shots.
1:35 PM: Once Tiffany and Xavier were alone, Tiffany said she sees pros and cons to each. Xavier said that’s what he wanted to talk to her about, like they did when they discussed keeping Christian. Tiffany said Derek X is not looking at her, Azah, Hannah or even Derek F in the near future. She said if Derek needs to not target Kyland or Xavier in order to stay, he would be on board with it as he has been wanting to work with them for the last few weeks. She brought up that Derek X is not untouchable since none of them would have known that Sarah Beth would be the one to take the shot at him. Tiffany said that if not for the six, she would be going balls to the wall and Derek X would be staying this week. As for Claire, Tiffany said she has been distant from her this past week and therefore she does not know all of Claire’s thoughts at the moment. Tiffany said she feels as though there is a consensus amongst the guys in the six that the girls don’t have what it takes to handle situations and take care of things. Tiffany said she will sit back and do what she does best, which is strategizing. Xavier said her arguments are always logical so that’s why he wanted to hear her out, and he still has to talk to everyone else.
2:13 PM: Tiffany told Derek X that he can’t say he is going after Kyland. She suggested saying he knows that Kyland and Xavier are close to Alyssa and Sarah Beth but they will need help taking them out at some point, and Azah, Hannah and Tiffany have not won competitions if that’s who they are counting on taking the shot for them. Tiffany went on to say that he could offer a two week deal to them in which he says that he will target Alyssa and Sarah Beth.
2:18 PM: Tiffany spoke to the cameras. She said she promised Kyland and Xavier that she will not say anything to them regarding campaigning to keep Derek X, which she wont, but that doesn’t mean that she wont help Derek build his campaign. She said that her mission for the next two days is to give Derek his campaign pitch for Kyland and xavier. Tiffany said she is ready to flip it for Derek X and this time she might get what she wants. Tiffany said she came there to play, not lay down, sunbathe, and let everyone else do what they want to do.
2:38 PM: Tiffany told Hannah that everyone is connected to these people and she is not emotionless when it comes to them. She apologized for if she made Hannah feel some type of way about it. Hannah said it’s okay.
2:47 PM: Hannah told Xavier she isn’t sure if Tiffany is mad at her but she did voice to Kyland that she is concerned that they aren’t all on the same page this week about who to send home. Hannah said she told him it’s frustrating that she has to justify why sending her person out this week is best. She wasn’t sure how Kyland went about relaying that to Tiffany but she said Tiffany approached her and apologized for burdening her with her emotions. They both agreed that Tiffany will get over it. Hannah said the only way she would be on board with keeping Derek X is if Azah, Kyland and Tiffany came to her and made it clear that they would be okay with nominating him should he stay, as she cannot be the one to do it. If not, she said the only way to ever get him out would be if Xavier can win both HoH and PoV in the same week. Hannah brought up that it should probably be a 5-2 vote in case Azah or Tiffany decide to flip last minute. She said that she and Kyland talked this over. They also agreed that it would be best for Tiffany’s game if she voted to keep Claire.
3:03 PM: Kyland told Azah that he would like to be able to be one of the votes to keep Derek X. Azah said she is fine with it as long as it is 5-2 to evict him.
3:26 PM: Claire asked Hannah where her head is at. Hannah said it’s such a weird position to be in and she doesn’t even know. She said she does not know what the house is doing, as most people are probably not talking to her since they know the position that she is in.
3:39 PM: Derek X ran through scenarios with Azah by using the chess pieces. Derek told Azah that Kyland and Sarah Beth will be going up if he wins the anonymous HoH. Azah asked who would go up if Sarah Beth wins the veto. Derek said it’s tough because he really likes Xavier. He told her that he would probably turn to the house to decide. Derek explained that he has already accepted that he wont go far but he would like for Azah, Hannah and Tiffany to go far in the game. He said Alyssa, Kyland, Sarah Beth and Xavier will all be looking at him if he stays. Derek said he thinks they are viewing Derek F as the swing vote and therefore they are talking to him more the last few days. He brought up seeing Derek F, Kyland and Xavier leave the have-not room together yesterday. Azah said she will think long and hard on this because he made extremely convincing arguments.
4:08 PM: Azah spoke to the cameras and said she was certain of her decision until 30 minutes ago, thinking that Derek X needs to go, but he brought up some really good points. Azah believes that Derek would be willing to go after Alyssa and Sarah Beth in the event that he stayed. She noted that he did initially say he would go after Xavier if Kyland or Sarah Beth won the veto, but then said he would go with the house. Azah said the Cookout would be the house and can push for Alyssa to go up. Azah said she needs to think about it some more.
4:20 PM: Claire made her pitch to Xavier. She said she thinks that he should keep her since she doesn’t have a lot of comp wins but also since their strengths don’t overlap and it’s good to have someone who is strong in other areas to cover your bases. Claire said she sees Xavier as someone who is loyal, trustworthy and stable, which is the type of person that she can see herself working with towards the end game. Xavier asked if she could see herself working with Alyssa as well. Claire said she could work with Alyssa and sees it as a similar scenario since their skills don’t necessarily overlap either. Xavier said he knows that he will be on the block as the third nominee so he is trying to get a feel for whether or not Alyssa would be up there with him. Claire said she would not want Alyssa up there and it does not make sense for her to do that. Xavier let Claire know that he is leaning towards voting Derek out.
4:35 PM: Derek F told Sarah Beth that Derek X said “I know you are mad for what I did last week”. He said he doesn’t know how Derek expects him to vote for him after he tried to get him out. Derek said he cannot trust someone once they cross him. Sarah Beth said Derek X listed Derek F as a potential target for her coming into the week.
4:53 PM: Derek X used the chessboard to run through scenarios for Xavier. Derek said he is guaranteed to be able to play in Coin of Destiny next week and Alyssa will not hit the block if he wins it. Derek said there are only two votes needed for a tie if there are three nominees, so Xavier would have Alyssa, Hannah and then himself as the tiebreaker. Derek then talked about the four of Alyssa, Kyland, Sarah Beth and Xavier. He said he knows Sarah Beth would see the logic in taking Alyssa out before four because Kyland and Xavier would then both take her to the final two. The two continued to discuss the various scenarios in play should Derek stay versus should he go.
5:10 PM: Hannah asked Tiffany if she feels like Derek F, Kyland and Xavier are carrying them. Tiffany said she told them that they want Derek X gone and they feels like they are doing more than the girls, so she will shut up. Tiffany said she wants the three guys gone when they get down to six. She said the guys don’t think that they do anything but they would not be safe if not for the girls keeping their names out of people’s mouths. Tiffany brought up Kyland saying that he or Xavier would be relied on to win to take Derek X out. Tiffany said he cant tell her that it takes a man to get him out when Sarah Beth got him on the block this week. Hannah asked if Tiffany thinks that keeping Derek would change the dynamic. Tiffany said she trusts him way more than she trusts Claire, and she knows that he is more naive and gullible so they would be able to convince him to think a certain way. Hannah asked where the fourth vote would come from even if she, Azah and Tiffany decided to keep Derek. Tiffany said she think that Derek F and Kyland could both be convinced. Tiffany admitted that keeping Derek may hurt the chances for all six to get to six, but she did not think that it would prevent the three girls from getting to the end together.
5:52 PM: Xavier told Hannah that Derek X made some good arguments but they don’t pertain to his game. Hannah said she had already told him that his arguments don’t make much sense for Alyssa or Xavier. Xavier said Derek F, Kyland and himself would like to get Derek out this week, while Tiffany remains on the fence at this point.
5:57 PM: Xavier asked Azah for her thoughts on the vote. Azah said if she was basing it on her own personal game, she would be keeping Derek X. She said she is worried about Hannah and Tiffany being exposed if Derek is gone. Xavier questioned how Tiffany would be exposed if Claire is still there. Azah said she cannot win competitions, but Xavier said they don’t want anyone outside of the six winning anyway. Azah questioned what would happen if Alyssa wins HoH and Claire wins the veto, since she would not go after Sarah Beth and therefore it would have to be Cookout members on the block. She implied that Derek X staying would give Alyssa a target. She also said Derek said he would go after Kyland and Sarah Beth, then put Alyssa up if the veto was used. Xavier said Derek just told him that Alyssa would not go up. Xavier argued that Derek has made too many promises that he wont be able to keep. He said Derek told him that it benefits his game to keep him and Kyland as long as possible, but he probably told Azah the opposite. Azah confirmed that he did. Azah said she gets what he is saying.
6:42 PM: Derek X told Tiffany he realized that Kyland, not Xavier, is the person that he needs to work on. He admitted that it is best for Xavier’s game to take him out. Derek said he wants to wait to talk to Kyland until Xavier is in solitary tomorrow, so that Kyland cannot speak to Xavier.
8:45 PM: Hannah asked Azah how she is feeling. Azah said she is good. She said she goes back and forth but goes back to what they agreed upon. Hannah asked if Azah, Kyland and Tiffany have decided how the votes will go. Azah said she and Kyland agreed on 5-2 and he asked if he could be the second vote, which she said okay to. Hannah said if they do a 4-3 vote and someone ends up flipping, it tells them what they need to know about the Cookout not being able to get their sh*t together, and there are issues that need to be addressed. Hannah said to be safe, they should shoot for 5-2. Hannah pointed out that if it is 4-3, the votes from the Cookout will be evenly split and Derek X won’t suspect it if he returns in a Battle Back. They discussed that the two of them and Tiffany would be keeping Derek X if not for the Cookout. Hannah said she cannot push for him to stay cause she cannot take the shot against him. Hannah said he could stay another week or two if Azah, Kyland and Tiffany could agree to put him up and not use the veto on him. Azah said she got back on the train of Derek X needing to go after her talk with Xavier, but she is trying to figure out how the votes should go. They agreed that a 4-3 vote is ideal.
8:54 PM: Tiffany joined Azah and Hannah. Hannah said that one of them need to win next week so they can take the shot at Sarah Beth. Tiffany brought up that Claire wouldn’t go after the three of them but if one of them is not HoH when they get down to seven, someone from the six is going home. Tiffany said it would be easier to beat Claire in that competition. Hannah said she agrees in terms of being able to beat Claire but the only issue is that if Derek X returns, he is more likely to work with Claire than Alyssa. Tiffany said they have to watch that Alyssa, Claire and Sarah Beth don’t end up working together. Tiffany brought up that the guys think they are carrying them. Azah said they kind of are but she doesn’t mind. Tiffany said they are not. Hannah said it’s a team effort. Azah said she knows they are all doing their part but she is happy that they win HoHs. Tiffany questioned why a guy would even want to take a girl with all of the girls in jury. Azah said they probably want to take out people who have won comps. Hannah said it’s almost not a horrible thing if the guys think that they are carrying them, because that gives them more incentive to bring them to the end over the other guys.
10:13 PM: Sarah Beth told Azah she put Derek F up but her goal was not to take him or Azah out this week. She said he was put up with the goal of him coming down. Sarah Beth said she thinks that Derek X not playing in roulette was in part due to Derek F going up since he wanted him to be targeted. Sarah Beth explained that she thinks Claire, Derek X and Tiffany are working together, and it scared her that three people could be working together at this point. She also said she doesn’t see many people that Derek X would leave over, which is also concerning. Azah said she understands Sarah Beth’s reasoning and she plans to go with what the HoH wants.
11:04 PM: Derek F told Derek X that he is 50/50. He explained that he has talked game with Derek, not Claire, but they both campaigned against him last week. Derek F said he believes he should have enough to play for Coin of Destiny. Derek X said he does too, and everyone will assume it’s Derek if he goes. Derek X said he can throw it, let Derek take the shot that he wants, and he will take the blame for it instead since everyone is already after him anyway. Derek F said he believes Derek has Hannah and Tiffany for sure, and probably Azah as well. Derek X said he only needs four votes. He promised that Azah and Derek would not see the block if he stays. Derek F circled back to the fact that Derek campaigned against him last week, adding that he would obviously have his vote if not for that. Derek F said he’s trying to figure out what to do.
11:26 PM: Derek F told Kyland that Derek X didn’t say anything bad about him or Sarah Beth but had some good points. Kyland said he would be keeping him if not for the six. Derek said he feels bad that he has to go but he know it’s better for “y’all game”. Kyland said not to say that since it’s worse for his game given that Derek would work with him against Xavier if he stays. Derek admitted it’s good for him too since Derek X went back on their deal.
