Big Brother 23 Day 51 - Derek X is evicted; Tiffany wins HoH
August 26, 2021
5:33 PM: By a vote of 5-2, Derek X was evicted from the Big Brother house. Hannah and Kyland voted to evict Claire.
5:51 PM: Tiffany became the new HoH. Julie instructed the houseguests to pick up an envelope on their way inside. Each one contained either $50 or $100 in BB Bucks. The houseguests were told that they will open them secretly when they enter the High Roller’s Room.
6:12 PM: Hannah told Azah that Sarah Beth is sitting at $50 so even if she gets $100 in her envelope, she would need another $100 from America in order to play and she does not see that happening. As for Alyssa, Hannah said that she cannot play no matter how much money she receives.
6:40 PM: Sarah Beth told Azah that she would have to get $100 in her envelope and from America in order to play, but she just send Derek X out so she is not going to be getting $100.
6:49 PM: Kyland told Tiffany that the third nominee works out best for her. Tiffany said she would like to keep Xavier on the block so that Alyssa has to vote for him to stay and so that he doesn’t have to vote against Sarah Beth. Tiffany said she definitely wants Sarah Beth out. She said it has been her mission for a long time so she wants Kyland and Xavier to help her weigh her options in case she has been so focused on Sarah Beth that she is missing something. Tiffany told Kyland that the two of them will be the number one targets once they get to six. Kyland said she is only the top target of Derek’s, and he does not know who he is the number one target for aside from maybe Azah. The two debated how to best handle Kyland’s nomination in a sense of whether or not to state that he is a pawn when he goes up.
7:09 PM: Tiffany told Claire that she plans to do more listening than talking during her one on ones. Tiffany mentioned that if the two of them, Azah and Hannah could agree not to target each other, that would be great. Tiffany said she is going to have to put Alyssa up if Kyland wins the veto, but she does not want to go back on her word. Claire suggested that she not make a deal with Alyssa then. Tiffany said she wants to make a deal with her but not say anything that she would not be able to honour.
7:53 PM: Tiffany told Azah she feels like Alyssa followed her around the house after Sarah Beth won HoH. She wondered if she is in her head about it because she noticed it even before being told that Alyssa is targeting her. Azah encouraged Tiffany to go with her gut but said Alyssa does the same thing with her. Tiffany asked who Alyssa would have nominated. Azah said she told her that she would put Kyland and Sarah Beth up. When Tiffany asked who should go up this week, Azah said Kyland and Sarah Beth, and then Alyssa can go home if Sarah Beth wins the veto. They discussed that they need to plant seeds in order to get Alyssa and Claire to target each other next week if one of them happens to win. Tiffany suggested that keeping Claire as the last non-Cookout member would be ideal since she would not come after either of them or Hannah.
8:12 PM: Derek told Tiffany that he would have nominated Claire and Kyland had he won, then he would have put Sarah Beth up in Claire’s place if he won Coin of Destiny. Tiffany said Sarah Beth is her target. Derek said they all had the same target. He mentioned that Alyssa is a little scared but he told her that Sarah Beth nominated Tiffany’s guy and her girl. Derek said Alyssa is on board with Sarah Beth going because Derek X told her that she was coming for her. Tiffany encouraged Derek to try to win the Coin of Destiny, saying she doesn’t know who else has the money for it. When Tiffany suggested keeping Claire until seven, Derek said she should go next week and Alyssa should be kept but it will depend on what the next HoH competition is. Tiffany asked that Derek leave their conversation being a little uneasy and as if he might be going on the block.
8:22 PM: Tiffany spoke to the cameras and said that Derek always thinks he is going on the block but hew ill not be. She said she needs him to be a little nervous to play into her plan.
8:27 PM: Alyssa explained to Tiffany that Sarah Beth was originally considering wanting Claire to come down last week but she told her to take Derek F down. Alyssa said Sarah Beth is telling everyone that she made her own decision but she would not have done something that the HoH didn’t want. Alyssa said she has been trying to get Sarah Beth’s trust but she heard from Derek X that she was her second target last week. Tiffany said she was told that she was Alyssa’s target. Alyssa said that is absolutely not true. She told Tiffany to ask Xavier because she has not trusted Sarah Beth since week five. Alyssa said there would be no point in her coming after Tiffany. Tiffany asked what Alyssa would do if Sarah Beth and Xavier were both on the block and she won veto. Alyssa said she would use it on Xavier. Tiffany questioned if it’s best to leave noms the same since Sarah Beth would be expecting Alyssa’s vote if Xavier is not on the block. Alyssa said she is not concerned about that. Tiffany said she is fine with Xavier coming down because he is not her target.
8:39 PM: Tiffany told Xavier she had to ask herself if targeting Sarah Beth was game or personal since she has been focused on her for so long, but a new target has not surfaced for her. Tiffany said it’s because Sarah Beth is playing a very good game and not due to personal reasons. Tiffany said she has a right to go after her since she took shots at her best friend and the toughest competitor on her side from Sarah Beth’s point of view. Tiffany said she is thinking about nominating Kyland next to Sarah Beth in order to have both Kyland and Xavier fighting for veto. Tiffany said she would rather have Xavier win because she would not have to nominate anyone else. Xavier asked who would go up if Kyland were to win. While Tiffany originally said Alyssa, she added that she may nominate Derek in order to keep her reputation up with Alyssa.
9:01 PM: Tiffany told Sarah Beth that she is looking at the two strong duos in the house. She said she would give Kyland and Sarah Beth the chance to play for the veto if she decides to go that route. Sarah Beth said she would have no reason to go after Claire and Tiffany if she is kept safe this week, and Kyland has wanted to repair his relationship with the two of them as well. Tiffany explained that she does not see where her and Claire fit into Sarah Beth’s game plan when she is so close to Kyland which she does not fault her for. She also brought up that she felt as though her legs were cut off by Sarah Beth when she took Derek X out. Sarah Beth said it surprised her to hear that. Tiffany said Derek was never coming for her. Sarah Beth explained her logic and the limited options that she had, and said it was not a shot at Tiffany. As for her relationship with Kyland, Sarah Beth said she wants to win the game and she knows that girls who get to the end with guys who helped them do not win the game. Sarah Beth said she would take whoever gives her the best shot at winning and Kyland knows that it is not him.
9:18 PM: Tiffany told Hannah about her conversation with Sarah Beth, and said she told her that she will be coming after her and Kyland or Alyssa and Xavier. Tiffany said Sarah Beth was throwing everyone under the bus and said that she would cut Kyland when she gets to the end. The two discussed Derek X. Hannah cried and said she feels bad. Tiffany said he will watch this back sometime and realize why they did what they had to do, because of the six. Tiffany also said he had to go because he was the biggest competitor in there. Tiffany explained that they as a six are there to do something and she is not getting to play the game that she otherwise would be.
9:57 PM: Xavier told Alyssa he doesn’t know who would go up if Kyland wins the veto but he does not think that Tiffany is looking at her. Alyssa said Tiffany told her that Sarah Beth said she was targeting her. Xavier questioned why Sarah Beth doesn’t like Alyssa. Alyssa said she doesn’t know why. Xavier joked that it is because Alyssa slept in the same room as Kyland.
