BBCAN4 - Raul Manriquez Exit Interview
April 15, 2016
When Arisa informed the houseguests that you were evicted by a vote of 6-1, were you surprised by the result?
Raul: A bit. I knew that I was going to be going home but I never thought that it was going to be six and just one voting for me.
What was going through your head when you decided to help Jared win the Power of Veto?
Raul: At the moment, I never stopped and said "I need to go and get another one just for myself". I was like “I need to help my friend”. I never put game and strategy on top of it. It was just a reaction that I need to help my alliance.
Had Loveita returned to the game over Kelsey, do you feel that you would be in this same position?
Raul: No, I think I would probably be in the house a little longer.
As the third wheel in the Third Wheel alliance, would you ever have turned on Jared and Kelsey or did you want to go to the end with them?
Raul: My last day there I actually turned on them and started campaigning for me and threw them under the bus but I kind of feel like at a certain point I would have to turn against them.
Do you think Jared and Kelsey could have a relationship outside of the house?
Raul: Oh my goodness, YEAH! You have no idea. Living with them was so awkward sometimes. When I was with them, if I wanted to leave they were like “no, why are you leaving? Stay with us. We don’t want you to leave”. I was like “why?”. It was such a weird triangle that we had going on but it was so much fun.
Had you stayed in the game, would you have worked with Jared or with those who voted to keep you?
Raul: Oh I would totally work with them because they would know that I am really loyal and they know that if I told them that I want to work with them that I would work with them. My word is always true to who I am and if I say something I will make it happen.
Had you stayed in the game, who would you have targeted?
Raul: The brothers. They have just been under the radar too much and they haven’t actually made a big move in the game. I told them that I wanted to work with them but I wanted to backdoor somebody and I think the brothers would have been a really good case to do that for.
What are your thoughts on the two wildcards, Nikki and Tim?
Raul: Oh I love it! They are so much fun. They ain’t wildcards like me. I am the wildcard in this house. Let’s get real (laughing). They are fun. I think Tim is probably going to go far in the game. Nikki is just there to be a great pawn. I think they are good people to have around right now.
What was going through your head when you decided to eat while you were on slop?
Raul (laughing): Honestly, I think that I just kind of blacked out. I had a crazy meltdown. I saw this beautiful sandwich that Tim had and I was like “I have had it, I’m done with this, I want to break the rules” and reached down eat it. All that I was thinking is that I’m just tasting freedom. It tasted like the best thing that I ever had in the world.
Do you regret using your HoH reign to target Mitch?
Raul: No, I don’t. I do not regret it at all. I wanted to make such a big move in the house. I wanted to show myself to be really strong in the game. I think that I actually got to do that and experience that.
How do you think Mitch will react when he sees you walk into the jury house?Raul: Oh he is going to be so happy. He is going to be like “I told you so!”. He told me “if you come into the jury house, I am going to be so happy because I know I was right and I know you did wrong”. Honestly, we are going to have so much fun. I am so excited to see him. He is a really good friend of mine and he is smart enough to separate friendship from game.
What did you think about Mitch’s secret that he revealed to you, that he is a YouTuber?
Raul: I was speechless. Mitch Muffin is so cute and I could not understand that he would be so famous out of the house. I was just in shock because I wanted to do YouTube as well. Every time I was talking about YouTube, he was like “you should be a YouTuber”. I never expected that he was going to have so many followers and a book and all of these things. It was just a shock for me.
What will you base your jury vote on?
Raul: Obviously if Jared and Kelsey go to the end I am just going to vote for them because they did help me through the game and they impressed me. With me throwing them under the bus, everybody knows their game plan now. If they survive that, that is such a good game and strategy for them. If they do not end up in the finals, I’m going to base my vote on the way they played even though they got me out and got rid of the alliance. That’s such a great move.
If Jared and Kelsey are not at the end, who would you like to see there?
Raul: I want Maddy in jury so bad but if I see her up there I am going to be like “girl, that is impressive”. It would be cool to see that happen.
